Every 45 minutes, I was sold for $120 to $350: Former sex slave recalls brutal life in brothels "IndyWatch Feed Allaunews"

At 21, Shandra Woworunti was a financial analyst in her native Indonesia but in 1998, she lost her job in the Asian banking crisis. In 2001, at age 24, she answered an ad for a six-month seasonal job in the United States thinking she would work as a waitress in the hotel industry. She said a man named Johnny Wong picked her up at Kennedy Airport in Queens and delivered her to another man. "I saw the man hand a big envelope of money to Johnny Wong," Woworunti recalled. Woworunti was entering the world of human trafficking. She was turned over to other men and ended up at a house in Bayside, Queens, she said, where the owner put Woworunti and two other young women in the attic. She said he ordered them to undress to make sure they didn't have a skin disease. Woworunti said that when she refused, the man put a gun to her forehead. Woworunti said she quickly realized she would have to comply with the wishes of her customers. "Every 45 minutes, I was sold for $120 to $350," Woworunti said. "I was trafficked in Brooklyn, Queens, Manhattan. Up and down I-95. I used to get trafficked to Foxwoods Casinos." Woworunti fled ... and ended up on the streets until a sailor in the U.S. Navy noticed her and contacted the FBI. Woworunti told federal agents what she knew, and the FBI eventually raided the house in Sunset Park that she'd escaped from. Now, Woworunti is about to be honored for the organization she founded, Mentari, which helps trafficking survivors mainstream back into society.

Trudeau government gag order in CIA brainwashing case silences victims "IndyWatch Feed Allcommunity"

Forty years after revelations that the U.S. Central Intelligence Agency funded brainwashing experiments on unsuspecting Canadians, the Trudeau government is continuing a pattern of silencing the victims. A recent Department of Justice gag order in an out-of-court settlement was designed to avoid responsibility and avert compensation to more victims and their families, said Alan Stein, [a lawyer] who has represented numerous survivors who were once patients at the Allan Memorial Institute in Montreal. Successive federal governments have demanded confidentiality agreements in at least five of the cases he has settled. The Trudeau government's quiet non-disclosure payment in March 2017 to the daughter of a now-deceased victim is just the latest development in a decades-old scandal that saw both the CIA and the Canadian government fund brutal science experiments on unsuspecting patients. Revelations of mental torture on hundreds of Canadian patients first surfaced in the late 1970s. At the centre of the controversy was Dr. Ewen Cameron, a respected psychiatrist and first director of the Allan Memorial Institute, the psychiatric facility at McGill University where the brainwashing experiments took place from 1950 to 1965. Cameron ... ran experiments called "psychic driving" and "depatterning" that attempted to erase a patient's memories and reprogram them with new thoughts. To this day, neither the CIA nor the Canadian government has apologized for its role in the experiments.

Victims 'told not to report' Jehovah's Witness child abuse "IndyWatch Feed Allcommunity"

Children who were sexually abused by Jehovah's Witnesses were allegedly told by the organisation not to report it. Victims from across the UK told the BBC they were routinely abused and that the religion's own rules protected perpetrators. BBC ... spoke to victims - men and women - from Birmingham, Cheltenham, Leicester, Worcestershire and Glasgow, one of whom waived her right to anonymity. Louise Palmer, who now lives in Evesham, Worcestershire, was born into the organisation along with her brother Richard Davenport, who started raping her when she was four. He is serving a 10-year prison sentence for the abuse. The 41-year-old ... said she was told not to go to police. "I asked [the organisation], 'what should I do? Do you report it to the police, [or] do I report it to the police'? "And their words were that they strongly advised me not to go to the police because it would bring reproach on Jehovah." What most of [the victims] keep coming back to is something known as the "two witness rule". It is a procedure set by the main governing body of the religion and means for any sin committed, there must be two witnesses to it in order for the elders of the congregation to take any action. The problem with this is it can be rare to have witnesses in cases of abuse. The victims I've spoken to said the organisation self-polices and teaches members to avoid interaction with outside authorities or to take another member of the religion to court. To do so, they say, could lead to expulsion from the religion.

American diplomats in Cuba struck by covert sonic device, US officials say "IndyWatch Feed Allcommunity"

The two-year-old U.S. diplomatic relationship with Cuba was roiled Wednesday by what U.S. officials say was a string of bizarre incidents that left a group of American diplomats in Havana with severe hearing loss attributed to a covert sonic device. In the fall of 2016, a series of U.S. diplomats began suffering unexplained losses of hearing. Some of the diplomats' symptoms were so severe that they were forced to cancel their tours early. U.S. officials concluded that the diplomats had been exposed to an advanced device that operated outside the range of audible sound and had been deployed either inside or outside their residences. It was not immediately clear if the device was a weapon used in a deliberate attack, or had some other purpose. State Department spokeswoman Heather Nauert said the U.S. retaliated by expelling two Cuban diplomats from their embassy in Washington on May 23. The Cuban Foreign Ministry said it had been informed of the incidents on Feb. 17 and had launched an "exhaustive, high-priority, urgent investigation." U.S. officials told The Associated Press that about five diplomats, several with spouses, had been affected and that no children had been involved. Cuba employs a state security apparatus that keeps many people under surveillance and U.S. diplomats are among the most closely monitored people on the island. The use of sonic devices to intentionally harm diplomats would be unprecedented.

Note: Could this attack on US embassy officials have been a false flag attack to turn public opinion against Cuba and reverse Obama's warming of US Cuban relations? Sound weapons developed for war and increasingly used against civilian populations are well-documented. The world's greenest cruise ship will have sails "IndyWatch Feed Allcommunity"

Cruise ships have a bad rap with environmentalists. One cruise operator is hoping to change that. Peace Boat, a Japanese non-governmental organization ... is working on an ambitious project to build the most sustainable vessel in the booming industry. Now in the last stages of planning, the "Ecoship" will be built by Finland's Arctech. It will cost about $500 million, financed in part by impact investors - funds, rich families and individuals who want to use their cash to improve the world as well as make a profit. A conventional cruise ship can burn hundreds of tons of heavy fuel oil a day and emit as much particulate matter as a million cars. The "Ecoship" will be fueled by a much cleaner combination of solar panels, wind power and liquid natural gas, and should produce 40% less carbon dioxide than a traditional cruise ship. "We will have 10 sails, so it will use the wind like traditional sailing ships," [Peace Boat founder Yoshioka] Tatsuya explained. The "Ecoship" is designed to mimic the shape of a whale. While smaller than many cruise ships currently being built, it will accommodate 2,000 passengers, and host conferences and events while docked. Peace Boat hopes it will set sail on its maiden voyage in 2020, and that it will quickly become a showcase for the future of the industry. "There's potential with a very green cruise ship to get a lot of attention at each port of call and that can make an impact," Tatsuya said. And he doesn't plan to stop at one ship. Demand for cruises, and green tourism is booming.

Malaysias last female Sumatran rhino falls ill "IndyWatch Feed Allworld"

Iman, the last female Sumatran rhino (Dicerorhinus sumatrensis) in the Malaysian state of Sabah, has fallen seriously ill over the past few days due to bleeding in her uterus, authorities there reported. The rhino, which experts believe to be fertile, had a tumor in her uterus, according to the Sabah Wildlife Department. It added that the tumor ruptured and she started bleeding about four days ago. Usually, this can be treated with medication and supplements, said Augustine Tuuga, a director at the state institution that has monitored Iman since she was captured in 2014 for a captive-breeding program. Iman wallowing in the mud. Photo courtesy of John Payne/Borneo Rhino Alliance (BORA). Tuuga said veterinarians had been having trouble carrying out medical treatments for the rhino, which lives in a paddock at the Wildlife Reserve in Tabin, near the coastal Lahad Datu district. This time, Iman is refusing to leave her mud wallow and she has hardly eaten, so the usual treatment has not been possible. She charges at anyone who comes near, Tuuga said. The situation has been exacerbated by the heavy rainfall in Tabin this year, which has turned the paddock into a muddy quagmire. Tuuga said the wildlife department was devastated to learn about Imans condition, particularly following the demise of Puntung, Malaysias only other female Sumatran rhino, earlier this year. He said the rhinos keepers and vets from the Borneo Rhino Alliance (BORA) were keeping constant watch on Iman. We are hoping for the best and will

Can anyone help ANSTO? They are heading down the wrong track with their medical isotope world domination dreams. Cyclotrons are the no-waste future. The advantage of using cyclotron rather than buying isotopes for medical application is that as the isotopes has short half-life period. By the time an isotope reaches its destination it covers its half-life. However, by having a cyclotron in the medical facility it not only reduces the cost but also, increase the number of scans to the patients in a given day. and yes, they can now produce high quality Technetium 99m.

Corporate Lobby Groups Censoring the Vaccination Debate in Australia "IndyWatch Feed Allaunews"

18 December 2017

On 20 November 2017 the City of Sydney Council removed the promotion of a presentation of university research on vaccination from the Sydney events page. This was done on the basis that they were making a judgement call for the health and well being of the population.

This is Orwellian because the opposite is true; denying the public a discussion of evidence-based research from a university is a danger to the health and well-being of the population. So is framing the debate as anti-vaccination instead of an assessment of the risks of a medical intervention

The Australian governments vaccination policies have removed human rights in Australia without public concern or acknowledgement because the risks of vaccines are being framed by powerful lobby groups as anti-vaccination.

In 2016 the religious freedom to refuse the use of 16 vaccines (~51 doses of vaccines) in children  a medical intervention in healthy people was removed (including conscientious and philosophical objection) for all Australians who rely on welfare benefits or access to childcare centres for early childhood education.

This policy that is not based on scientific evidence will soon be extended to all adults and recorded on the Australian Immunisation Register.

University research is by nature evidence-based information yet my PhD thesis on the control of infectious diseases has been the subject of a smear campaign in the mainstream Australian media and on social media.

This has been organised by subscribers/members of corporate lobby groups theAustralian Skeptics Inc (Stop the Australian Vaccination Network (SAVN)),Friends of Science in Medicine (FoSM) and the Public Health Association of Australia (PHAA).

Russian villagers removed from one nuclear contaminated area, to another nuclear contaminated area. "IndyWatch Feed Allaunews"

People here die, several die a week. Most from tumors. Cancer.

The Russian Villagers Living In The Shadow Of A Nuclear Tragedy, Radio Free Europe, 16 Dec 17Ramil Mukhamedyarov looks out at the placid waters of the Techa River in Russias Ural Mountains.

He says for kids in Novoye Muslyumovo, a mostly ethnic Tatar village, it serves as the local swimming hole. Cattle often lap at its waters and graze near its banks.

It sounds idyllic, but theres a problem. For decades, radioactive waste has been dumped or seeped into the Techa.

Nearby is the Mayak nuclear installation, one of the largest nuclear complexes in the world, now run by Russian state nuclear regulator and operator Rosatom to reprocess spent nuclear fuel. In 1957, a nuclear accident at Mayak contaminated 20,000 square kilometers and affected an estimated 270,000 people.

It was one of historys worst obscure nuclear tragedies. Since Mayak was a secret site and nearby Chelyabinsk a closed town, Soviet authorities didnt flinch. They initially released no details of what would become known as the Kyshtym disaster, named after the nearest town actually listed on maps.

It was only in the 1990s, after the collapse of the Soviet Union, that the scale of the disaster emerged. And only in 2009, more than a half-century after the incident, were residents of Muslyumovo the village worst-hit by the spillage at Mayak rel...

FixedIt: She wasnt shot by an invisible being, she was shot by a man. "IndyWatch Feed Allaunews"

The Australian reported that a man shot a woman in Tasmania last week. Unfortunately they forgot to put him in the headline.

Invisible perpetrators are a constant in FixedIt. It matters because headlines are supposed to be a short summary of the article and when the article is about violence men commit or are accused of committing, the headline is not telling the story, its erasing the story

If all the violent crimes committed by men were reported in the active voice with the perpetrators and their crime as the subject of every headline, it would be overwhelming. Because it is overwhelming.

But we are journalists and it is not our job to erase the truth so our audience is not made to feel uncomfortable. Our job is to describe what is happening in our society. And the sad truth is that around 90 percent of violent crimes are committed by men. Avoiding this fact doesnt make it less true but it does make it much more difficult to address the underlying cause.

FixedIt is an ongoing project to push back against the medias constant erasure of violent men and blaming of innocent victims. If you would like to help fund it even $5 a month makes a big difference please consider becoming a Patron

FixedIt: Children can havesex, not even with tourists "IndyWatch Feed Allaunews"

The Daily Telegraph reported on the laudable changes to the law that attempt to prevent paedophiles travelling overseas to rape and abuse children. Good story. But its not sex tourism. Its rape and abuse tourism.

Children cannot have sex. Sex requires consent, children cannot legally or morally give consent so it is not sex. Rape, sexual abuse and sex are not the same thing and they can not be used interchangeably in headlines.

Here are the reasons this matters, in every case, with every headline.

The victim impact statements from child abuse trials are harrowing, a testament to the lifelong injuries suffered by people who were sexually abused as children. They are the litany of drug addition, alcohol dependence, gambling problems, depression, crippling anxiety, relationship breakdowns, suicidal thoughts, shame, self-hatred, mistrust of others and long term emotional damage so common in survivors of child sexual abuse. Children who have been abused are also significantly more likely to suffer further abuse, both as children and as adults.

The effects of sexual abuse of children then lead to the cycle of horror where victims become unreliable witnesses to their own abuse.

When the media, as it so persistently does, labels sexual abuse of children as child sex, we are weakening the public understanding of the extent and effect of such abuse. This has serious effects. A study conducted for the Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse found that juries who have a better understanding of the facts of child sexual abuse are less likely to make mistakes in their assessment of evidence given in court.

Children cannot have sex with adults. Sex requires consent and children, by definition, cannot give consent, so its not sex. Its rape, its child abuse, its sexual abuse, its any number of terms that accurately describe a crime. An act perpetrated on an innocent victim, someone who was unable to defend themselves from the violence done to them, and who suffers for years, possibly decades, from the trauma caused by an adults choice to commit that violence.

That word choice is the key. Sex is a choice made by every person involved. Rape and abuse are a choice made only by the perpetrator. The victim has....

FixedIt: Child abusers dont get to set the headlines "IndyWatch Feed Allaunews"

Jeremy Lysaght pleaded guilty to using the internet to groom children for sexual abuse. The ABC reported on his sentencing hearing under a headline quoting his attempt to blame his wife for his choices to commit criminal offences.

Most of the article was devoted to his efforts to ascribe his crimes to alcohol, depression (self-diagnosed), anxiety (also self-diagnosed), his wife and his need for an ego boost. It should go without saying that many, many people like a drink, have (genuine) depression and anxiety, unsatisfactory marriages and fragile egos. These things do not cause child abuse. The choice to abuse children causes child abuse.

The articles third and second last paragraph reported a little of what the judge said in response.

Justice Maiden responded: You have a problem with sexualised fantasies about young girls.

The offender appears to have little insight into his offending behaviour.

Journalists cannot provide commentary on trials or hearing still underway and it is not their job to report on what the perpetrator should have said. They can, however, choose how they report on a hearing. A man who commits child abuse and is trying to persuade a judge to give him a light sentence is not the only voice in the court room and should not get to set the narrative of the story of his offending. Journalists can report on the hearing without accepting the offenders excuses and perpetuating the lies he tell himself.

JOHANNESBURG - Delegates have been voting through the night for the African National Congress (ANC)s top six leadership.

The voting continues on Monday morning after confusion over when this process would get underway.

Initially, communication from the ANC late on Sunday night was that the voting was postponed purely for logistical and practical reasons and would only begin at 6am on Monday.

But after some contestation from delegates, another message was sent to inform the media that the voting would go ahead.

This was in the early hours of this morning and members have been making their mark at the ballot box since then.

Most provinces have now completed voting except for the Eastern Cape, Gauteng, Limpopo and KwaZulu-Natal.

Trump Tax Plan to Allow Small Business to Expand "IndyWatch Feed Allaunews"

QUESTION: Hello. You mentioned that the tax cut will allow many companies to expand and hire more staff. At a WSJ forum, Gary Cohen asked a group of CEOs if they would expand or hire more workers with the corporate tax cut and less than a dozen raised their hands. Some have commented that the savings will be used for stock buybacks and bigger bonuses instead. Which do you think will happen?

Thank you for your blog, it is very helpful.

JS

ANSWER: The businesses that Cohen put that question to were big public business. The big public businesses only employ about 38% of the private sector workforce while small businesses employ 53% of the workforce. Indeed, over 99% of employing organizations are small businesses and more than 95% of these businesses have fewer than 10 employees.

I have probably advised more of the biggest corporations in the world than anyone. The bigger the business grows, the more it becomes like government. The boards are taken over by lawyers, accountants, and political tokens. The original entrepreneurs are usually expelled from boards because they are far too innovative than corporate America.

I had a front-row seat in Radio Corporation of America, where I began my career in computer engineering (software & hardware). Most people are unaware that RCA was a leader in computers. The board of directors thought the computer would be like the radio, which made the company. Everyone during the Great Depression wanted a radio to listen to FDRs Fireside Chats. Then, RCA ha...

Menominee Tribe Addresses Mine Project Wetland Issues "IndyWatch Feed Allworld"

From Facebook

Published December 18, 2017

KESHENA, WISCONSIN The Menominee Tribe of Wisconsin is urging people to make their views known as the Back Forty Mine proposal enters the wetland permitting phase.

The Tribe has been vocal about its objection to the open-pit mine project, and to the State of Michigan exercising Clean Water Act jurisdiction over the permit that would allow mine developers to fill and excavate Menominee River wetlands.

On Friday, December 8, 2017, the Michigan Department of Environmental Quality (MDEQ) determined that mine developer Aquila Resources, Inc.s Michigan wetlands permit application was administratively complete despite the fact that components of the application previously deemed necessary are still missing or incomplete.

MDEQ has allowed minimal time for the public to review the voluminous application, or to raise issues and make comments with a single public hearing on the permit scheduled for January 23, 2018, at 6:00 pm, at Stephenson High School, W526 Division Street, Stephenson, Michigan, in the small gym.

Following the public hearing, the record will remain open for 10 days for additional, written comments. For its part, the Menominee Tribe is thoroughly reviewing the application and preparing both written and verbal testimony. It is the Menominee Tribes position that the MDEQ lacks jurisdiction and authority to oversee or issue the wetlands permit required by the federal Clean Water Act, s...

British Parliament Chaos as Tory Rebels Try to Stop BREXIT "IndyWatch Feed Allworld"

The Tory Rebels in the UK Parliament joined forces with Labour and the Remain Camp to defeat BREXIT in reality. They claim that Parliament will now vote on the BREXIT deal, but in reality, they have created an open door for more uncertainty and economic chaos.

The Tory rebels were Mr. Grieve, Heidi Allen, Ken Clarke, Jonathan Djanogly, Stephen Hammond, Sir Oliver Heald, Nicky Morgan, Bob Neill, Antoinette Sandbach, Anna Soubry and Sarah Wollaston. Another Conservative MP, John Stevenson, abstained from voting in both lobbies. Meanwhile, two Labour MPs, Frank Field, and Kate Hoey voted with the government.

The amendment was authored by former attorney general Dominic Grieve and was championed by other pro-Remain campaigners. The fact that the Remain camp indeed remains delusional about the economics of the entire mess is beyond contemplation. This seriously calls into question why there is no qualification to be a politician. They are ignorant of the fact that the GDP of Britain peaked in 1973 and has declined ever since joining the EU. Are they just stupid or corrupt? Britain is disliked in Brussels and has lost just about every case to defend Britains in the EU Court. Yet these people are oblivious to reality.

Nicky Morgan revealed their true motives when he tweeted:

Tonight Parliament took control of the EU Withdrawal process.

These Rebels have seriously undermined the process and the Prime Minister. Granted, PM May does not know how to negotiate. Britain holds all the cards. It should go for a HARD BREXIT and watch Ireland and Brussels crawl. The Germans will be...

Banning Native American Mascots has Nothing to Do with Political Correctness "IndyWatch Feed Allworld"

Guest Commentary

Published December 18, 2017

Banning Native American mascots has nothing to do with political correctness; it is about having a correct understanding of politics. For it is never right or Constitutional to treat people as if they are
conquered.

Practically speaking, the use of mascots have harmful effects on the social identity of American Indian young people. According to the American Psychlogical Association, they undermine the educational
experiences of members of all communities-especially those who have had little or no contact with indigenous peoples; they establish an unwelcome and often hostile learning environment for American Indian students that affirms negative images/stereotypes that are promoted in mainstream society; they undermine the ability of American Indian nations to portray accurate and respectful images of their culture, spirituality, and traditions; they present stereotypical images of American Indians; and they are a form of discrimination against American Indian Nations that can lead to negative relations between groups.

George Cassidy Payne

Rather than representing these cultures as possessing social complexity, political and religious diversity and unique forms of creative wisdom, the use of generic names such as Indians, Braves, Chiefs, and especially Redsk*ns, diminishes the wor...

PAGE, ARIZONA The following statement was released by the Navajo Generating Stations plant manager, Joe Frazier:

Until last month it was still uncertain. But we recently confirmed the Navajo Generating Station will be allowed to operate until Dec. 22, 2019.

This has been a year of uncertainty. Last December, the news broke in the Gallup Independent that the NGS owners were considering ending their participation in the plant because of changing economics in the power industry. That was confirmed on Feb. 13 when NGS owners Salt River Project, Arizona Public Service, NV Energy and Tucson Electric Power voted to do that.

All year long we have asked our NGS team members to finish strong. It is a testament to their work and safety ethic that they have done so, and continue to do so every day. It is with an immense sense of relief for managers, supervisors and all of our employees that we now have a two-year cushion to plan where we go from here. SRP has assured all NGS employees that they will have a retention bonus to stay on the job as well as a replacement job within the company so they can continue to care for their families.

Because of the coordinated efforts of the NGS owners and the Navajo Nation, the Nation will now receive $167 million in payments over the next 35 years, access to the use of 500-kilovolt transmission lines to fulfill its dream of producing and selling renewable power, the NGS lake pump system that could provide a way to access Lake Powell water, the NGS warehouse and other buildings worth millions of dollars, the railroad and also critical to the N...

Trump Tax Reform & Charitable Donations "IndyWatch Feed Allaunews"

QUESTION:  Hi Marty,
I have been reading your blog daily for the last few years, as well as the archives. I just read your explanation of the difference between the house and senate versions of the tax cuts. The only thing that baffles me is not including charitable giving as a deduction. It seems to me that many people will stop giving what they cant deduct. Then all these charitable organizations will then end up hat in hand pleading funds from the government. I would think it would be less expensive to the government keep charitable deductions than not.
ANSWER: Both plans keep the charitable deduction and the property tax deduction will be capped at $10,000. Your assumption that people donate simply because they get a tax deduction is wrong. All the donations of the famous millionaires like Rockefeller were before the income tax. I personally bought computers for everyone at the grade school I went to and put in the necessary educational software. I never took a deduction because something that big ends up only causing an audit.

I have never known anyone to donate large sums only because they get a deduction. Donations are typically made because you have a passion for something not because you get the deduction. Under that theory, nobody would care who you gave money to. Even when we sold my mothers house, we donated most of the furniture and they give you a slip[ for a deduction, but its just not worth the hassle to use it.

The big donations that get written off are usually from estates.

The Future of Online Gaming "IndyWatch Feed Allworld"

Published December 18, 2017

There are several debates and discussions in regards to the future of online entertainment and gaming. Some people think that a whole new era is going to begin. Others believe things are more or less going to remain the same for a while. Some people think that it will be difficult to predict technological change which is major in a world such as this, considering how quickly technology develops.

A lot of people believe that virtual reality is going to become the new standard for all online entertainment. Other people, however, are much more skeptical about the power of this technology. They may think that virtual reality is going to become more of a niche activity. It has not in fact had the effect on society that many people thought it would by this point in history. it really has only had an effect on gaming, and effects other industries very minimally so far.

Only entertainment clearly is in a kind of transitional period right now. To a certain extent, of course, it has always been this way to some extent. This is a world which is not static, which is something people need to keep in mind.

It has been known to be said that the only constant is change. In the case of the Internet, this is certainly true. It changes quite quickly as a matter of course, and people can create much of their own content in the modern world, and then share it easily with the world. With such a large amount of input from so any sources, it is only inevitable that many people see changes in online entertainment. They helped create the changes, so it is believable that theyd being to see a lot of these changes come to fruition right before their eyes.

People can even use their smartphones today to play games in public in a way which is quite convenient. This is the type of thing they can do casually while they are involved in another activity. It is a lot harder to do this with virtual reality headsets of any kind, for instance. Many times, people struggle when it comes to virtual reality headsets in general. They tend to be a distraction to people away from their surroundings, which is the kind of thing which can make the use of these headsets difficult for anyone not used to them.

App technology, on the other hand, should be around for a long time yet to come. Generally, people should find it simple to enjoy all kinds of apps for many years. Apps are part of the future of ente...

Ethereum Price Technical Analysis ETH/USD Consolidating Below $730 "IndyWatch Feed Allcommunity"

Key Highlights

  • ETH price is struggling to gain traction and is consolidating below $730 against the US Dollar.
  • There is a broad contracting triangle forming with support at $650 on the hourly chart of ETH/USD (data feed via SimpleFX).
  • The pair might continue to trade in a range above $650 and with resistance at $730.

Ethereum price is moving in a range against the US Dollar and Bitcoin. ETH/USD has to move above $730 to gain traction in the near term.

Ethereum Price Range

There was a decent price action in ETH price above $600 against the US Dollar. The price traded higher above $700 on a couple of occasions, but failed to gain momentum. There were failures near $730 and $720. It recently traded as high as $730.58 from where it corrected lower. It moved below the 23.6% Fib retracement level of the last wave from the $611.11 low to $730.58 high. There was also a close below $700 and the 100 hourly simple moving average.

Later, the price recovered and settled above the 100 hourly SMA and $700. It seems like there is a broad contracting triangle forming with support at $650 on the hourly chart of ETH/USD. The pair is trading in a broad range with resistance at $730 and support above $650. An intermediate support is around the 50% Fib retracement level of the last wave from the $611.11 low to $730.58 high. On the downside, the triangle support holds a lot of importance along with the 61.8% Fib retracement level of the last wave from the $611.11 low to $730.58 high.

Ethereum Price Technical Analysis ETH USD

If the pair continues to rise toward $730, it would be interesting to see the next move. Either ETH/USD will break $730 and move higher or it will move down back toward $660.

Hourly MACD The MACD is slightly placed in the bullish zone.

Hourly RSI The RSI is moving higher toward the 50 level.

Major Support Level $650

Major Resistance Level $730

A Texas Solution For Feeding The Malibu Homeless?--A Tale Oof Two Cities "IndyWatch Feed Allworld"

-by Dorothy Reik
President, Progressive Democrats of the Santa Monica Mountains

In Dallas it's illegal to feed the homeless. Now it seems that Malibu is following in a smilier path. The Malibu mayor, Skylar Peak, suggested that the local church to end their weekly homeless dinners-- what's good enough for Dallas is good enough for Malibu it seems. "For 17 years, religious groups fed homeless people (in Malibu), and the city and private donors put up hundreds of thousands of dollars for social workers to find them housing and services. But Malibu United Methodist Church-- facing pressure from the city-- in recent weeks took a U-turn, deciding twice-weekly dinners for homeless people would stop after Thanksgiving. The cutoff came after city officials summoned organizers and suggested they were attracting more homeless people and making the problem worse.

In its wisdom the Democratic Party did NOT endorse incumbent Democrat Peak when he ran for re-election on a slate which included Trumpster Rick Mullen and the Trumpeter campaign manager, Chris Garcia, who, in addition to running the slate's campaign, led Latinos Para Trump.

The Malibu Dem Club also did not endorse Peak. The club endorsed the fabulous Jennifer De Nicola whose entire family is the group leading the movement to hire social workers to feed and provide medical services and housing for Malibu's homeless. Over the past year, their work has found permanent hou...

Pre-Budget Submission for 2018-2019 "IndyWatch Feed Allaunews"

Just Reinvest NSW has developed a Pre-Budget Submission for the NSW Budget 2018-2019.

We are calling on the NSW Government to:

Adopt a new model of investment to reduce the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander prison population

  1. Invest an additional $60 million over 2 years into early intervention, prevention and diversionary programs (an upfront investment of the amount of savings that will be generated as a result of a 5% reduction in the prison population a conservative estimate of the reduction in the prison population as a result of criminal justice reforms).
  2. Adopt and implement policy and legislative reforms recommended in the Just Reinvest NSW Policy Paper #1: Smarter Sentencing & Parole Law Reform to immediately reduce the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander prison population in NSW and free up resources for reinvestment.
  3. Report annually on the impact of reforms to the criminal justice system (implemented under the Criminal Justice Reform Package and as recommended by Just Reinvest NSW) and the savings generated as a result of those reforms, and from 2019-20, annually reinvest a portion of those savings into a justice reinvestment fund for early intervention, prevention and diversionary programs to reduce Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander offending, reoffending and imprisonment.
  4. Allocate sufficient resources to community-based programs and supervision particularly in regional and remote areas, to ensure that reforms aimed at increasing the use of community- based orders and decreasing the rate of breaches of sentence and parole conditions are effective in reducing Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander imprisonment and reoffending rates.
  5. Allocate $6.35 million over 5 years for a Justice Reinvestment Framework for NSW as part of the Department of Justices strategy to address the overrepresentation of Aboriginal people in the criminal justice system (currently in development).

Provide $6.35 million over 5 years to establish a framework for community-led justice reinvestment in NSW

Do we not laugh? On the continuing obsession with Merchant of Venice "IndyWatch Feed Allaunews"

This brings us back to the question posed whenever a production of The Merchant of Venice is mounted: is this an antisemitic play, or a play about antisemitism? Indeed, if we need Shylocks Hath not a Jew speech to remind us that Jews are, in fact, human too, then we are dealing with a much larger cultural problem that productions of The Merchant of Venice play into.

Little Carmichael the power of kindness "IndyWatch Feed Allaunews"

_01I9488

Wherever there is a human being, there is an opportunity for kindness Lucius Annaeus Seneca

And never were these words truer than when little Carmichael, a lamb who at the time did not have a name or a promising future, was spied by a kind heart. Seeing the feeble young one limping along, struggling to keep up with his flock, this kind heart made attempt after determined attempt over a period of weeks to secure some assistance for the ailing animal. But sadly, her kindness was not mirrored in others, from the human responsible for his care to the various authorities charged with overseeing the welfare of farmed animals. And so, in a world where one can be just about anything, our kind heart chose to be just thatkind. Despite being several hours from Edgars Mission and with a young family of her own to tend to, this caller listened intently to our instructions, and, following them to a T, was able to negotiate the safe release of Carmichael, delivering the wee one to our care that evening.

_01I9497

It was then over to us to do everything in our power for the tiny young lamb with the crippled front leg. At first it was thought a penetrating grass seed had burrowed its way into his shoulder; however, we were soon to learn that this in fact was not what had transpired. Rather, the young lamb, with his immune system still immature, had contracted a debilitating case of joint ill*. So severe was his case and so lacking in a robust immune system was he that the infection had raced through Carmichaels system, ultimately bursting out through his shoulder. Alas, such a period of time had passed that his shoulder had become compromised both in functionality and form, with the situation only getting worse as we were to learn that the bacteria was resistant to the most common line of defence antibiotics.

To self-doubting developers: are you good enough? "IndyWatch Feed Allcommunity"

Does any of the following sound familiar?

You constantly worry that you are not good enough.

Look at the developers around you. They seem to have everything together. Their code is cleaner than yours. They debug much faster than you do. They merely glance at documentation before knowing what they need. They are confident. They enjoy coding.

But you, you are worried. You worry that you dont know enough about the framework and the language you are using. You worry about introducing bugs. You worry about catching up with the hottest technologies. You worry that you are not talented enough. Things dont come naturally to you. You think to yourself: Maybe Im not meant to be a developer.

If any of these self-doubting thoughts sounds familiar to you, you are not alone. Google self-doubt developers, and you will find over 2 million results in less than a second.

I was you.

For a period of time, I also experienced intense self-doubt, wondering if I would ever make it. It happened in college when I was practicing and preparing for job interviews. Each day, those algorithm problems made me feel like a complete failure. I was stressed and worried, as much as you might be now.

Eventually, my practice paid off and I received multiple job offers from prestigious tech companies. Along the way, I learnt two important lessons that changed my view of programming and eliminated my self-doubting thoughts. Im sharing them with you now. Hopefully, they help.

Lesson #1: Learning programming is exactly the same as building muscles

To learn to play soccer, you need to go to the field and play. To build stronger muscles, you need to go to the gym and lift those weights. To learn programming, you need to sit down and code.

After lifting weights, you will feel sore and tired the next day. When stuck on a programming problem, your brain will (literally) hurt and you will get frustrated.

You wont give up working out simply because of feeling sore. You know its part of the process. But when you get stuck while programming, you might start doubting yourself, wondering if you are talented enough. Because: (1) you think getting stuck is your fault, (2) others make it seemed effortless.

1. Getting stuck is part of the process.

Maybe no one has told you that, but its absolutely normal to get stuck during programming. It happens even to senior developers. A big part of programming is about figuring out why what you expected to happen didnt happen. If you agree that expecting an child to be able to walk the first time h...

Magnesium in Right Doses Completely Reverses Depression: Breakthrough Study "IndyWatch Feed Allcommunity"

Magnesium is already known by many as a tremendous booster of health. It contributes to sound sleep, helps with digestion and constipation, relieves muscle aches, and even improves heart health and migraine headaches but heres a shocker: magnesium in small doses leads to an astonishing reversal of depression.

What is Magnesium and Why Do We Need it?

Magnesium is one of the most important elements in the human body. It is a micronutrient and mineral that is involved in thousands of biochemical processes crucial for the proper functioning of the cardiovascular, alimentary, endocrine, and osteoarticular systems, but oddly, it seems absolutely vital to regulating our mood and levels of happiness.

In a breakthrough study conducted by researchers at the Larner College of Medicine at the University of Vermont and published in PLoS ONE has found that just 248mg of magnesium per day leads to an about-face of depression symptoms in study subjects.

New clinical research results show magnesium is effective at addressing symptoms and is safer and easier on the wallet than prescription therapies, reports Science Daily.

Mounds of Research Proving We Need Magnesium to Combat Depression

Research of this kind regarding magnesium isnt new, but it stands to reinforce what nutritionists, health coaches, and even some psychologists have been stating for decades.

Another study states this about magnesium and depression:

Anxiety related conditions are the most common affective disorders present in the general population with a lifetime prevalence of over 15%. Magnesium (Mg) status is associated with subjective anxiety, leading to the proposition that Mg supplementation may attenuate anxiety symptoms.

And this study explains that:

After adjusting for all potential confounders, the strength of the association of very low magnesium intake with depression was statistically significant (RR = 1.16; 95% CI, 1.06-1.30).

Or how about this study which states that the daily consumption of 500 mg magnesium:

. . . tablets for 8 wk by depressed patients suffering from magnesium deficiency leads to improvements...

Name: Briely

How many years have you been on a volunteer surf patrol lifesaver for?
I got my SRC (Surf Rescue Certificate) when I was in Under 14s so that was three years ago and then bronze medallion last year. So I have done surf patrol lifesaving for three years.

Why did you want to become a volunteer surf lifesaver?
When I was 10 years old my family moved from Northern Victoria down to the beach and my parents wanted my brother and I to learn more about water safety so we joined surf lifesaving and it kind of went from there.

What is your favourite thing about being on volunteer surf patrol at the Ocean Grove Surf Life Saving Club?
This is actually my first patrol at Ocean Grove, I am actually from Torquay but I have transferred over to Ocean Grove. It is really good and great people. It is really good beach, everyone is having fun, good surf, good times.

Do have any superstitions before you complete a shift as surf patrol lifesaver?
Drink bottle, I always put my sunscreen on to make sure I am sun smart. Slip, Slop, Slap.

Favourite holiday destination?
Currumbin on the Gold Coast in Queensland.

Buoyed by birdsong "IndyWatch Feed Allaunews"

Once again its been a bumper few weeks for exploring the Bellarine.
The sun has been shining, the birds have been singing, and all has been well with the world.
The hooded plover nesting season is well and truly under way. The Hooded Plover is a medium-sized (19cm to 23cm) plover, which has a black head and a white nape, with white underparts. The iris is dark brown, with a red eye ring, and the legs are pink.
Hooded plovers are listed as vulnerable in Victoria, with only around an estimated 600 birds left in our state.
Currently there are four nests between Point Lonsdale and Collendina, and all being well, there will be hatchlings around Christmas Day. One of the hooded plovers that has lived on Collendina Beach for years, known as AD (because of the letters on its orange leg band) has unfortunately not been sighted in over five months. ADs unbanded partner has now taken up with JU from Guvvos Beach near Anglesea, and hopefully they will nest soon.
Along 13th Beach, SN and CR have produced the first chick for the Bellarine on 29 November and Barwon Coast has set up a Temporary Exclusion Zone in order to give this chick the best possible chance at survival, which is a tremendous initiative by Barwon Coast.
When hooded plover chicks hatch on the beach, there will be signs asking for people to keep their dogs on a lead in roped off areas. Dogs also have to be on a lead at all times between 6W and Point Lonsdale, regardless of whether there are hooded plover nests or not.
Breeding success for hooded plovers can be severely limited due to a range of natural and human related factors. High seas can wash away nests, eggs or chicks, and predation by foxes, cats, silver gulls, magpies, ravens and other scavengers can occur. Also disturbance by dogs, humans and the physical crushing of nests and eggs by vehicles, horses and foot traffic can occur. Due to the long incubation period, and the inability of chicks to fly for at least three weeks after hatching, each clutch is vulnerable to a range of threats for nearly a two-month period. If anyone is interested in helping to protect these birds, you can access details about volunteering at www.barwoncoast.com.au/friends-hooded-plover-bellarine.
I was very happy to see two species of migratory shorebirds at the Ocean Grove boat ramp on the Barwon Estuary the other day. I spotted two common greenshanks and two sharp-tailed sandpipers. Its great to see these amazing birds around these parts. Both species of bird migrate to Australia from the Northern Hemisphere during our spring and summer months.
The other lovely bird I have seen this fortnight was a singing honeyeater, which was spotted at Barwon Heads Bluff, where they are commonly seen.
The singing honeyeater has a plain grey-brown plumage, with a distinctive black streak through the eye from the bill to the neck, bordered by a yellow streak b...

Trump Effect Comes to Austria: Conservative Government Announces New Rules for Asylum Seekers "IndyWatch Feed Allworld"

Sebastian Kurz, VP, will be Europes youngest leader, with 31 years. FP-chief Heinz-Christian Strache (r.) will be vice-chancellor. (Vlad Tepes)

Europes youngest leader Sebastian Kurz and his conservative government announced new rules changes for asylum seekers.

The incoming migrants and refugees will have to surrender their cell phones and all cash at the border.

The new migrant children will be required to speak German before joining the school system.

These common sense proposals are considered extreme right wing policies in Europe today.

Via Die Welt and Vlads Tepes:

Austria will adopt a new style with the new VP-FP government. This had been clear for quite a while. But what are the plans of the coalition under the new chancellor Kurz? The government program For our Austria, Fr unser sterreich, details it.

After seven weeks of negotiations, VP and FP agreed on a 182 pages strong government program for the next five years. The coalition of conservatives and right-wing-populists declare their clear dedication for the EU.

The preface of the pact says: A strong Austria, where we can seize the opportunities of the 21st century, can only exist in a strong Europe. A fundament of solid politics was, among others, comprised of the basic principles of the European Union. The parties councils approved the pact late Friday evening unanimously.

But what exactly does Together. For our Austria say? Some of the points were already extracted on Saturday. But what do general statements like stop illegal migration and speed up asylum proceedings really mean? These are the most important of the planned measures.

Migration and refugees

Whoever applies for asylum in Austria will have to hand over all of his cash at the application. The sum is to be used to cover the basic supply costs.

Asylum seekers have to hand over their mobile phones to the authorities. These will analyse the phone data, to clarify identities (for example in social networks) and to verify the denoted travel route. The smart phones wont be completely confiscated though.

Bitcoin Price Technical Analysis for 12/18/2017 Classic Pullback Setup "IndyWatch Feed Allcommunity"

Bitcoin Price Key Highlights

  • Bitcoin price has soared to the $19,768 area last week and has since pulled back from another rally.
  • Price is currently finding support at the ascending trend line connecting the lows since December 10.
  • This lines up with several inflection points that could be strong enough to keep losses in check.

Bitcoin price is completing a pullback from its recent rally and appears to have already found support at the $18,000 area of interest.

Technical Indicators Signals

The 100 SMA is safely above the longer-term 200 SMA to confirm that the path of least resistance is to the upside. This means that the uptrend is more likely to continue than to reverse.

In addition, the 100 SMA coincides with the 50% Fib and appears to be holding as dynamic support. If so, bitcoin price could eventually resume its rally to the swing high or until the $20,000 mark.

Stochastic is starting to pull up also, which means that bullish momentum is picking up. RSI also looks ready to turn higher, which means that buyers are trying to regain the upper hand. However, if  larger correction is needed, bitcoin price could find the last line of defense at the 61.8% Fib or 200 SMA dynamic inflection point.

Market Factors

The dollar made another push higher last Friday as the tax bill drew more support from lawmakers. A final vote is scheduled this week and approval could mean another round of rallies for the US currency across the board.

Meanwhile, bitcoin is awaiting the launch of futures on CME and later on in Nasdaq. The CBOE has already launched theirs a few days back, so the bullish run from this event may have already passed.

Still, a large influx of investor funds could prop bitcoin price higher in the coming weeks as institutional and retail trading of the cryptocurrency has surged. Keep in mind that some brokerages are also offering ways to short bitcoin but at much higher margins.

"How the Feds Doomed the Economy" "IndyWatch Feed Allworld"

"How the Feds Doomed the Economy"
by Bill Bonner

This area is going to grow for a long time, said a real estate agent yesterday. Weve been looking at property for sale. We like it down here in Nicaragua. And we have a feeling the agent is right. This could be like Florida in the 1920s - bubbly, but still with a long period of growth ahead. We were selling those lots on the beach for just $50,000. That was ten years ago. Maybe a bit more. Now, theyre selling for $500,000. Up and down the beach, there are new housesnew condosnew restaurants. Property here may or may not be a good investment. It could go upor not. But its not likely to go away. In the worst case, we can build a beach shack and enjoy it. After all, it is real.

Fundamental change: This week, we have been looking at real moneyand real prosperity. Weve seen that you only know if something is real money or not ex post facto. ...

IOTA DOUBLE BOTTOMS WHILE LTC BULLS AIM AT $420- TECHNICAL ANALYSIS FOR DECEMBER 18, 2017 "IndyWatch Feed Allcommunity"

After a period of lower lows, IOTA is now bottoming.

There is a clear IOTA double bottoms and a stochastic buy signal in place meaning bull trend is in progress. If IOTA prices close above the middle BB then we expect December 6 highs of $5.6 to be our immediate target.

LTC is also on the same wavelength and $420 should be the next target now that there is a clear buy signal and close above the middle BB.

Lets look at the charts:

NEM AT ALL TIME HIGHS

alt coin XEM 4HR chart technical analysisXEMUSD 4HR Chart for December 18, 2017

Generally, there is an explosion in the alt coin market. NEM is no exception, with series of higher highs after that break above the minor resistance trend line on December 16. Considering price action set up, there is a window for more upside.

Price action shows that. As the chart shows, we expect prices to retrace probably to the middle BB for equilibrium before trend resumption.

As such, December 8 highs will be our first support line while the middle BB will be the extra support buffer just in case USD bulls drive prices lower.

DASH BULLS CLEAR $1070 TAKE PROFIT

alt coin DASH 4HR chart technical analysisDASHUSD 4HR Chart for December 18, 2017

DASH bulls are in charge after the minor resistance line was broken on December 16.

As it is, those higher highs led to price action clearing our second take profit level as projected by Fibonacci extensions.

Because the weekly chart is bullish, we expect DASH to slow down and this retracement might lead to middle BB retest now that we have a little bit of DASH over-valuation.

Immediate support is at December 12 highs of around $1000. Even though stochastics are bearish complementing this over-extension, we shall only be taking longs.

In line with our bullish trend in the weekly chart, any close above December 17 highs will invalidate this short term, equilibrium seeking correction.

Alphabet to Deliver Internet Access in India Using Laser Beams "IndyWatch Feed Allworld"

Instead of using balloons or drones, Alphabet/Google X plans to create a backbone of fixed boxes that communicate using lasers in order to deliver Internet access in Andhra Pradesh. Users would connect to the end points wirelessly:

Alphabet's X Lab has cooked up yet another Internet connectivity scheme, according to a report from Reuters. Past efforts have involved floating Internet balloons and laying lots of fiber optic cable, but this Internet delivery system sends data over laser beams! This isn't an experimental system like Project Loon; India's Andhra Pradesh state government has signed an agreement with Alphabet to bring the technology to millions of people starting next year.

[...] Alphabet's rollout in India will involve fitting "2,000 boxes installed as far as 20 kilometers (12 miles) apart on posts and roofs" according to the report. The optical system is expected to hit 20 Gbit/s from box to box and would serve as a backbone, replacing more expensive technologies like fiber optics. The final connection to users would happen over Wi-Fi or cellular.

Been Looking For This To Happen "IndyWatch Feed Allworld"

A minor amount of buzz happened a little over a month ago with headlines around California Assemblymember Phil Ting announcing he'd introduce a bill to ban the sale of new gas engine cars in 2040. China, France, India, Netherlands, and UK have similar plans with varying deadlines. Cal Gov Jerry Brown has asked why China can do this and California hasn't.

So one legislator saying he'll introduce a bill is a far cry from something actually happening. Still, he's on at least one of the relevant legislative committees, Committee on Utilities and Energy. We'll learn more when he actually has a bill. Even if it doesn't succeed, this could be the start.

This Newsweek article says that new gas cars from after 2040 won't be allowed to register in California, so if you buy a new one somewhere else and move here, you'll have to sell your car. That will affect their value outside California. After a few years, it'll be a lot harder to find places selling gas. It wouldn't make much sense to buy a gas car in California a few years before the deadline.

I think this is politically feasible in California, home of Tesla and with an actual acceptance of climate change science. I'm glad to see Phil Ting push this forward, but there are a lot of ambitious Democratic politicians who could show their vision by supporting this. And what about you, Jerry Brown?

What might even be possible is something sooner than 2040. Even 2035 would start to redirect long-term R&D planning by car manufacturers in the near future.

"Great Man-Made River": Muammar Gaddafi's gift to Libya "IndyWatch Feed Allworld"

From the documentary filmmaker and producers Winfried Spinler and its crew, first in Hollywood at the documentary film festival in 2001 presented film, another reality about the states points in Libya and their revolutionary leader Muammar Abu Minyar al-Gaddafi. Now in times of the raw material shortage it isn't any more only about oil and other mineral resources, now are looked apparently also the biggest water reservoir of the world as desirable properties. Gaddafi corresponds in this documentary film not to the in general provided world view of the tyrant, but rather to a peace angel for the North-African neighboring states. The worldwide biggest water reservoir to the greening of the wild areas, linked with thousands of kilometers of pipeline, there flowed up to now the biggest shares of the oil income of Libya. It is almost incredibly this now scarcely before the completion of the pipelines (2011) an invasion of Libya begins. Hardly worth mentioning to one of the biggest advocates of this project, to the Egyptian president Mubarak, shortly before the power was taken.

Bitcoin: Flipping the Coin "IndyWatch Feed Allcommunity"

No one can see a bubble. Thats what makes it a bubble. The Big Short

You must be familiar with the above quote if youve watched the Christian Bale movie The Big Short. Does that mean the Bitcoin is a bubble waiting to burst? Maybe. The truth is no one knows just yet. Its difficult to assess whether something is a bubble by simply reading the news or following the market. So, lets begin by understanding what is a Bitcoin?

Bitcoin is a decentralized, digital cryptocurrency. Confused? Lets take an example. Lets say that you are ordering headphones from Amazon via a seller and you want to know exactly where theyve been before they were shipped to you. How do you find out? The answer is, you cannot. You cant know the exact source of the product and you definitely cannot find out all the transactions related to those specific headphones.

Imagine if there was some sort of a digital ledger that could tell you all that and more? There is. Blockchain is a distributed digital ledger that stores all transactions related to a specific product or asset. But then what is a Bitcoin? Blockchain technology is what makes the Bitcoin possible.

Bitcoin is a peer to peer decentralized digital currency that is used to buy and sell products online. Decentralized means that the Bitcoin is not managed or issued by a company, government or financial institution. Bitcoin uses blockchain to store all transactions in a digital ledger which is then accessible to everyone globally using their computers. Now that you understand the basics, lets understand why there is so much hype surrounding the Bitcoin.

coindesk.com

1 Bitcoin costs $10,886.85 at the time of writing this article. Crazy, right? Bitcoin was worth $1 in April 2011 and now, 6 years down the line, its worth more than 10,000 times its original value. But, why is the price of the Bitcoin so high? Bitcoins growing demand and the awareness amongst the public about cryptocurrencies is causing the price of the Bitcoin to rise.

The price of the Bitcoin has been fluctuating a lot recently but some are betting that the price of the Bitcoin will rise to $40,000 by the end of 2018. People are even purchasing 5% of 1 Bitcoin so that they can sell it off and earn a profit when the price rises again. Various Bitcoin exchanges like Coinome, Zebpay, Unocoin and several others in India are currently allowing the public to purchase and sell Bitcoin also known as BTC. So, should you invest in Bitcoin? I hope I can help you answer that q...

Housemates Urged to Aim for Poo Stains Before Xmas Guests Arrive "IndyWatch Feed Allaunews"

ShareToilet

Male housemates in a share house in Sydney have been urged to aim for the poo stains built up inside their toilet, in an effort to make the dunny look respectable before guests arrive for Christmas catch-ups.

The man who came up with the idea said the toilet currently looked like they borrowed it from a three-day musical festival.

I started to use the servos shitter across the road as even it was cleaner, he said. It was time to take action, and if we all do our part and focus our streams towards the offending chunks, well soon have a Facebook chair sparkling like the eye of a pensioner hitting a 60-cent feature.

Other housemates werent as optimistic about the plan.

Look, its hard enough aiming inside the toilet let alone aiming for strategic targets within it, one man said. I think wed be better to just chuck the whole thing out and buy a new one. It even smells dead.

Another housemate said it would be better just to board up the bathroom door and make guests feel at home by inviting them to piss in the sink.

Bitcoin Cash Price Technical Analysis BCH/USD Facing Tough Resistance "IndyWatch Feed Allcommunity"

Key Points

  • Bitcoin cash price is holding gains, but it is struggling to move above the $1850 resistance against the US Dollar.
  • This is a key bullish trend line forming with support at $1780 on the hourly chart of BCH/USD (data feed from Kraken).
  • The pair must stay above $1780 if it has to break the $1850 resistance and gain further.

Bitcoin cash price is holding a major support at $1780 against the US Dollar. However, BCH/USD has to move above $1850 to gain bullish momentum.

Bitcoin Cash Price Trend

This past week was mostly positive for bitcoin cash price as it moved above $1700 against the US Dollar. The price traded with a positive price action and traded above the 50% Fib retracement level of the last drop from the $2000 high to $1594 low. More importantly, there was a close above the $1700 handle and the 100 hourly simple moving average. On the other hand, it seems like the price is struggling to break the $1850 resistance.

There is a major barrier around $1850 where the price struggled many times. It is the 61.8% Fib retracement level of the last drop from the $2000 high to $1594 low. On the downside, there is a key bullish trend line forming with support at $1780 on the hourly chart of BCH/USD. The trend line support at $1780 is around the 100 hourly simple moving average. Therefore, it holds a lot of importance for further declines toward $1700. As long as the pair is above the $1780 support and the 100 hourly SMA, it remains supported.

Bitcoin Cash Price Technical Analysis BCH USD

Once there is a break above $1850, there can be a retest of $2000. On the downside, below $1780, the next major support is at $1700.

Looking at the technical indicators:

Hourly MACD The MACD for BCH/USD is currently in the bearish zone.

Hourly RSI (Relative Strength Index) The RSI for BCH/USD is now below the 50 level.

Fuel crisis to worsen as oil workers begin strike "IndyWatch Feed Allworld"

The fuel crises rocking the country may degenerate as oil workers yesterday vowed to begin nationwide strike today. The workers under the auspices of the Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria (PENGASSAN) declared no going back on an indefinite strike in protest of the alleged sack of their members by Neconde Energy Limited. The union had earlier issued a seven-day ultimatum, which elapsed today, promising to shut down all oil and gas installations, including disruptions to fuel supply and nationwide distribution, if the Federal Government fails...

In 2018 The US Govt Will Spend Nearly $2 Billion a Day Solely on WAR "IndyWatch Feed Allworld"

TFTP| The price tag on the latest National Defense Authorization Act is $700 billion, which will cost American taxpayers nearly $2 billion every day in 2018.

While the United States Congress has struggled to pass legislation governing taxes and healthcare, it had no problem uniting on the 2018 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) a bill that will ensure the U.S. continues to wage wars around the world, and that promises taxpayers will cover its costly expenses.

The price tag on the latest NDAA is a massive $700 billion, which means that for every day in 2018, American taxpayers will spend nearly $2 billion on war.

House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy, a Republican from California, claimed that by signing the NDAA into law, Trump signed a bill that will make America safer. He also noted one important factboth Democrats and Republicans showed overwhelming support.

This defense bill authorizes money for our troops, for our national defense and homeland security, and to make sure America has the best technology in the world to protect ourselves, McCarthy said. This bill passed the House 356 to 70, including more than half of the Democratic caucus. It passed the Senate by voice votenot a single Democrat opposed it.

Before signing the legislation, Trump referenced an attempted attack in New York City, where a man detonated a crudely-made pipe bomb in a subway station the day before. While the man who made the device was the only one injured, Trump used it as another example of why Americans should funnel billions of tax dollars into keeping America safe.

The Heretical Sects of the Middle Ages "IndyWatch Feed Allworld"

The Socialist Phenomenon, by Igor Shafarevich

I bet you are thinking aha, bionic has finally figured out the truth about the European Middle Ages and the role of the Catholic Church and tradition!  Lets disabuse you of this notion right off the top; the chapter title in Shafarevichs book is entitled The Socialism of the Heresies.  I will focus only on his sections regarding the Middle Ages.

During the Middle Ages and the period of the Reformation, doctrines of chiliastic socialism often fomented broad popular movements in Western Europe.

These movements had a common trait:

the rejection of numerous aspects of the teachings of the Catholic Church and a fierce hatred for the Church itself.

They had other common traits, none of which are conducive to a vibrant and free society.

Lets examine a few of these popular movements.

The Cathars

Catharism was a Christian dualist or Gnostic revival movement that thrived in some areas of Southern Europe, particularly northern Italy and what is now southern France, between the 12th and 14th centuries.

Catharism may have had its roots in the Paulician movement in Armenia and eastern Byzantine Anatolia and certainly in the Bogomils of the First Bulgarian Empire, who were influenced by the Paulicians resettled in Thrace (Philipopolis) by the Byzantines.

While history remembers them as Cathars, they self-identified with the terms Good Men (Bons Hommes) or Good Christians.

Returning to Shafarevich, Pope Innocent III counted as many as forty Cathar sects.  The main common contention was the belief in the irreconcilable contradiction between the spiritual world (good) and the physical world (evil).  This was caused, they believed, by two Gods one good and one evil.  Some sects believed in one God, but that the evil world was created by Gods eldest fallen son, Lucifer.

The Cathars denied free will the children of evil could not avoid their fate but, miraculously, tho...

Have We Reached Peak NFL? "IndyWatch Feed Allworld"

How will the owners and managers of the multi-billion-dollar NFL empire handle the leagues decline phase?

OK, I get it: pro football is so popular because its one of the last refuges of modern life that hasnt been ruined by politics. Oops, scratch that. But we shouldnt pin the decline of pro footballs popularity (as measured by viewership) solely on player protests, as the decline predates the recent politicization.

As this chart shows, viewership has been sliding for years across the entire demographic spectrum:

Even more troubling for the multi-billion-dollar NFL empire, the youth demographic is evaporating like mist in a scorching summer day in Death Valley. The problem for the NFL is two-fold: the number of young people who are dedicated NFL viewers is modest, and even worse, its declining at a fast clip.

I am sure there are plenty of 25-year old fans, but anecdotally, I dont know a single Millennial who has any interest in sitting through a 2-hour pro football game at home, or ponying up the big bucks and huge chunk of time required to attend a game.

Again, anecdotally, young people seem more likely to watch a short clip of the games highlights on Youtube than devote 2+ hours to sitting through endless annoying TV adverts for a few moments of action.

Or theyre investing their sports-related time and money in college or local sports; if theyre parents, their time may be devoted to their kids sports activities.

In other words, pro football is an interest of the older generations that isnt shared by the younger generations. We can chart this progression with an S-curve, which in the case of the NFL, is marked by the boost phase of viewership in the 1970s and 1980s as Monday Night Football expanded the TV audience and the league added franchises.

The league reached a maximum audience some years ago, and has now entered the decline phase.

But the NFLs troubles run even deeper than demographics: its fan base is being pressured financially while the cost of attending a game keeps rising.Anecdotally, attending a game costs a small fortune now. Yes, there may be a few cheap seats in the nose-bleed sections, but the costs of getting to the game, parking and refreshments far exceed what attendance cost the previous generation, even adjusting for inflation.

Maybe somebody feels $10 for a beer in a tiny plastic cup suitable for a urine sample and $20 (or more) for a couple of h...

The End of Googles Biggest Subsidy "IndyWatch Feed Allworld"

Net Neutrality is gone.  Good riddance.

Lost in all of the theoretical debate about how evil ISPs will create a have/have-not divide in Internet access, is the reality that it already exists along with massive subsidies to the biggest bandwidth pigs on the planet Facebook, Google, Twitter, Netflix and the porn industry.

Under Net Neutrality these platforms flourished along with the rise of the mobile internet, which is now arguably more important than the desktop one in your home and office.  Google and Apple control the on-ramps to the mobile web in a way that Net Neutrality proponents can only dream the bandwidth providers like Comcast and AT&T could.

Because, in truth, they cant.  Consumers are ultimately the ones who decide how much bandwidth costs, not the ISPs.  We decide how much we can afford these creature comforts like streaming Netflix while riding the bus or doing self-indulgent Instagram videos of our standing in line at the movies (if thats even a thing anymore).

Non-Neutrality Pricing

Net Neutrality took pricing of bandwidth out of the hands of consumers.  It handed the profits from it to Google, Facebook and all the crappy advertisers spamming video ads, malware, scams, and the like everywhere.

By mandating equal access and equal fee structures the advertisers behind Google and Facebook would spend their budgets without much thought or care.  Google and Facebook ad revenue soared under Net Neutrality because advertisers needs are not aligned with Googles bottom line, but with consumers.

And, because of that, the price paid to deliver the ad, i.e. Googles cost of goods sold (COGS), thanks to Net Neutrality, was held artificially low.  And Google, Facebook and the Porn Industry pocketed the difference.

They grew uncontrollably.  In the case of Google and Facebook, uncontrollably powerful.

That difference was never passed onto the ISP who could then, in turn, pass it on to the consumer.

All thanks to Net Neutrality.

Undercapitalized Growth

With the rise of the mobile web bandwidth should have been getting cheaper and easier to acquire at a much faster rate than it has.  But, it couldnt because of Net Neutrality.  It kept rates of return on new bandwidth projects and new technology suppressed.

Money the ISPs should have been spending laying more fiber, putting up more cell towers, building better radios went to Google to fritter away on endless projects that never see the light of day.

The ISPs actually suffered under Net Neutrality and so did the consumers.

And therefore, Net Neutrality guaranteed that the infrastructure for new high-spe...

Republicans Save Electric Car Subsidy "IndyWatch Feed Allworld"

The same Republicans who worked overtime to make sure Obamacare wasnt repealed or even replaced have done as expected and made sure the $7,500 subsidy for the purchase of electric cars remains in place.

These Republicans are Senate Republicans the worst Republicans of all.

House Republicans are no great shakes all politicians are by nature grifters but a few of them come to Washington still slightly wet behind the ears, a degree naive  . . . in the sense that they suffer a few occasional and temporary pangs of trying to do the right thing. They are like newly created vampires who for a brief time are somewhat restrained by their fading memory of being human.

But Senate Republicans are like the Ancients in the television series, The Strain. They no longer remember what it was like to be human, if they ever were.

And so, the EV subsidy was restored. What matters to them is retaining and if possible enhancing the federal governments power which amounts to the same thing as their power. Once elected, a senator becomes Washingtons representative, not yours or even the state from which the creature nominally emanates.

Once upon a time, senators were constrained to represent their state as they were elected by the state legislature, which was interested in the interests of the state which wasnt ideal, either but at least it wasnt the federal government.

The 17th Amendment changed this via the direct election of senators which sounds soporifically democratic, but in practice amounts to the vitiation of representation for the people because there are simply too many people for any single person to have any meaningful representation. Your individual vote no longer matters. The senator plays to the mob with unctuous platitudes and then proceeds to represent . . . Washington.

And Washington is not interested in you, except insofar as a resource to be exploited.

As vampires regard their victims.

Corporations are, meanwhile, interested in Washington.

Because Washington is power. Corporations supplicate politicians in the same way (and for largely the same reason) that still technically human helpers such as the character Eldritch Palmer in The Strain, the TV series mentioned earlier, assist the vampires. They hope to leverage the power of the undead....

When Will the Govt Stop Lying About 9/11? "IndyWatch Feed Allworld"

All three buildings were destroyed by carefully planned, orchestrated and executed controlled demolition.

Professor Lynn Margulis, Department of Geosciences, University of Massachusetts at Amherst, and National Academy of Science member, one of many academics who has been very outspoken regarding 9/11 (source) (source)

Are the government, its allies, and the ones who who sit above governments and dictate most decisions and government policy (corporations and financial institutions, comprising the Deep State), lying to us? Its far from a conspiracy to think so. If we look at 9/11 (one of many examples), approximately 50% of Americans dont believe the official explanation of their government, and why should they? Since 9/11, several pieces of evidence have emerged suggesting that something fishy happened here, and the powers that be may have been responsible. In fact, if we look at just how much information and evidence has emerged, its almost impossible to say there was not any foul play. Perhaps this is why the U.S. government continually refused to re-open the investigation. The type of information and evidence mentioned, by the way, receives very little if not zero attention from mainstream media.

What really happened that day? Who really knows for sure, but imagine your own government creating an event in order to justify the invasion of multiple countries in the Middle East. This is what seems to have happened, and its called false flag terrorism, something more and more people are becoming aware of.

What also lends more credence to the theory of false flag terrorism is the fact that terrorism organizations like Al-Qaeda and ISIS have had a long history of relationships with Western intelligence agencies. These groups are commonly funded and armed by Western intelligence agencies. This was one of the topics of discussion a few years ago at the International Conference on the New World Order, which was organized and spon...

George Washington "IndyWatch Feed Allworld"

George Washington took office as president in 1789 with an asset of inestimable value. People viewed him as the hero of the American Revolution who, disdaining power, had like the Roman general Cincinnatus returned home to his farm. When he allowed himself, with great reluctance, to be nominated as chief executive, his prestige was unparalleled. Indeed, his reputation was worldwide. When he died,

Napoleon Bonaparte decreed that the standards and flags of the French army be dressed in mourning crepe. The flags of the British Channel Fleet were lowered to half-mast to honor the fallen hero. Talleyrand, the French minister of foreign affairs, [called] for a statue of Washington to be erected in Paris.1

Poets likewise sang his praises.

Washington achieved mythic status in his own lifetime, receiving poetic encomia from English poets as different as William Blake and Byron, who contrasted Washington favorably with the despotic Napoleon. His contemporaries were impressed by the fact that the general who led a successful revolution did not establish a personal dictatorship.2

Were the effects of the influence that accompanied this prestige good or bad for liberty? This chapter shall endeavor to show that in two instances, these effects were bad; in one case, though, Washingtons fame led to fortunate consequences for individual freedom. Washington, though not a principal author of the Constitution, supported calling a convention to revise the Articles of Confederation. At the convention itself, he strongly backed Madisons plans for centralized control.

On assuming power, Washington soon faced a division of opinion in his cabinet. Secretary of the Treasury Alexander Hamilton was not satisfied with the centralization already achieved by the Constitution. He called for a national bank and a governmentally directed program of industrial development. Thomas Jefferson raised a decisive objection to Hamiltons proposal: Did it not entirely exceed the bounds of power granted the central government by the new Constitutio........

The Case Against Iraqing Iran "IndyWatch Feed Allworld"

The case against Iraqing Iran includes the following points:

Threatening war is a violation of the U.N. Charter.

Waging war is a violation of the U.N. Charter and of the Kellogg-Briand Pact.

Waging war without Congress is a violation of the U.S. Constitution.

Have you seen Iraq lately?

Have you seen the entire region?

Have you seen Afghanistan? Libya? Syria? Yemen? Pakistan? Somalia?

War supporters said the U.S. urgently needed to attack Iran in 2007. It did not attack. The claims turned out to be lies. Even a National Intelligence Estimate in 2007 pushed back and admitted that Iran had no nuclear weapons program.

Having a nuclear weapons program is not a justification for war, legally, morally, or practically. The United States has nuclear weapons and no one would be justified in attacking the United States.

Dick and Liz Cheneys book, Exceptional, tell us we must see a moral difference between an Iranian nuclear weapon and an American one. Must we, really? Either risks further proliferation, accidental use, use by a crazed leader, mass death and destruction, environmental disaster, retaliatory escalation, and apocalypse. One of those two nations has nuclear weapons, has used nuclear weapons, has provided the other with plans for nuclear weapons, has a policy of first-use of nuclear weapons, has leadership that sanctions the possession of nuclear weapons, and has frequently threated to use nuclear weapons. I dont think those facts would make a nuclear weapon in the hands of the other country the least bit moral, but also not the least bit more immoral. Lets focus on seeing an empirical difference between an Iranian nuclear weapon and an American one. One exists. The other doesnt.

If youre wondering, U.S. presidents who have made specific public or secret nuclear threats to other nations, that we know of, as documented in Daniel Ellsbergs The Doomsday Machine, have included Harry Truman, Dwight Eisenhower, Richard Nixon, George H.W. Bush, Bill Clinton, and Donald Trump, while others, including Barack Obama, have frequently said things like All options are on the table in relation to Iran or another country.

War supporters said the U.S. urgently needed to attack Iran in 2015. It did not attack. The claims turned out to be lies. Even the claims of supporters of the nuclear agreement reinforced the lie that Iran had a nuclear weapons program in need of containment. There is no evidence that Iran has ever had a nuclear weapons program.

The long history of the United States lying about Iranian nuclear weapons is chronicled by Gareth Porters book Manufactured Crisis.

Can You Tell If Your Eggs Have Expired? "IndyWatch Feed Allworld"

By Dr. Mercola

The date typed on store-bought food containers often refers to either a sell by or expiration date. However, if the food in question happens to be eggs, and you throw them out based on the assumption theyre no good past that date, youre likely pitching perfectly good eggs. With a little experience, you can hone your skills at determining by sight and smell whether or not foods such as meats, vegetables and herbs are still fresh and healthy to eat as opposed to past their prime.

With eggs, though, its a little more challenging. The date on egg cartons is often a tactic food manufacturers use to get you to buy them more often, so knowing how to test your eggs at home to determine their freshness save you quite a bit of money. The Food Product Dating section of the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) says state-by-state egg laws may prohibit sell by dates, and adds:

Many eggs reach stores only a few days after the hen lays them. Egg cartons with the USDA grade shield on them must display the pack date (the day that the eggs were washed, graded and placed in the carton). This number is a three-digit code that represents the consecutive day of the year starting with January 1 as 001 and ending with December 31 as 365.  When a sell-by date appears on a carton bearing the USDA grade shield, the code date may not exceed 30 days from the date of pack.1

To clarify, the date on cartons indicates when eggs were laid, not the date you bought them. You might be surprised to find that eggs you may have assumed by carton dates to be expired are more often than not still perfectly good to eat.

Assess Your Eggs With a Float Test

The float test for egg freshness is very simple: Simply place your raw eggs into a bowl of cold water and watch what happens. Heres what the eggs will tell you:

  • When they sink straight to the bottom and lay flat on their sides, they are very fresh and excellent for frying or scrambling, but not so great for hard-boiling.
  • Eggs that stand on one end or tilt to one side on the bottom of the bowl are a few weeks old but still good to eat, and perfect for hard-boiling.
  • Eggs that float are no longer fresh and shouldnt be eaten, either hard-boiled or any other way.

According to Food Hacks: To give you an idea of (how) old an egg actually is, look at the packed by dates on the carton, which are in...

Does Your Pick-Up Truck Get Horrible Mileage? "IndyWatch Feed Allworld"

[Editors note: This article has been updated since its original post in August 2015.]

We had a caller last Saturday on the Car Pro Show who was unhappy with the fuel economy of his truck.  This is one of two common problems I hear all the time:  1). My pickup gets horrible fuel economy, or 2). My pickup doesnt do a good job towing my trailer.

When I get these questions, I always ask which rear axle ratio the caller has, and I would guess 90% of the time, the caller doesnt know.  People go to dealerships way too often focused on color, comfort, engine size, etc.  The rear axle ratio should be at the top of the list, no matter what you are going to use your pickup for.  If not towing, you want the best fuel economy you can get, and if you are towing, you want to make sure your truck will do the job.

Automakers Offer Variety of Axle Ratios

There is good reason automakers offer a variety of different axle ratios.  The axle ratio refers to the gears in the trucks differential, which is a mechanical device that links the rear axle to the driveshaft and then the engine. Four-wheel-drive trucks will have a matching ratio in the front axles differential.

Step one in understanding axle ratios is to know what the numbers signify.  The lower the number, the better fuel economy, and the higher the number the more towing power you have, but fuel economy suffers.  For instance, a 3:31 gets better fuel economy than a 3:73.  On the other hand, a 3:73 or perhaps a 4:10 will tow much more, while fuel economy greatly drops.  The most popular rear end ratio in trucks today is the 3:55, which sort of averages towing power and fuel economy.  This is a good ratio for the occasional towing or hauling individual.  For a person who tows more often, and heavier loads, the 3:73 or 4:10 may be more appropriate.

Much has changed over the past 5 years or so with axle ratios.  Today, we are seeing half-ton trucks with 6 cylinder or small V8 engines able to tow close to 12,000 pounds.  Not too long ago, you would need to go to a ton truck with a large V8, V10, or diesel engine.  Much has been learned about the effects of rear end ratios in the last decade.

If you move up to a diesel engine, understand that the power and torque ratings of the engine have a huge effect on the rear end needed.  For instance, a 2015 Ford F-350 diesel with a 3:31 rear axle ratio will tow 14,000 pounds, but you can go up to 19,000 p...

Pentagon Now Claims "IndyWatch Feed Allworld"

Two Navy airman flying over the Pacific Ocean on a routine training mission claim they encountered mysterious objects that accelerated like nothing they had ever seen before.

Back in 2004, Navy Cmdr. David Fravor and Navy Lt. Cmdr. Jim Slaight were flying about 100 miles off the coast of San Diego in each of their F/A-18F Super Hornets carrying two CATM-9s, which are dummy missiles that could not be fired, the New York Times reported.

According to Fravor, the operations officer aboard Navy cruiser U.S.S. Princeton had been communicating with the pair during their mission and said, Well, weve got a real-world vector for you.

The operator said for the past two weeks the Navy cruiser had been tracking mysterious aircraft.

The objects would first appear at 80,000 feet, and then speed toward the sea before stopping at 20,000 feet and hovering.

They then either shot back up into the sky or dropped off of radar.

Fravor and Slaight were instructed to investigate the objects by the radio operator on the Navy cruiser.

The two pilots followed their instructions and as they closed in, they were alerted by the operator that they could not tell which were the objects and which were the fighter jets.

At first, Fravor nor Slaight could see anything and nothing was on their radars.

But then Fravor looked down to the sea and noticed that the waves were breaking over something below the surface, causing the sea to churn.

Hovering about 50 feet above the churn was an aircraft of some sort that was whitish, 40 feet long and oval in shape, Fravor recounted.

He described to the Times that it was jumping erratically but not moving in any specific direction.

Fravor began a circular descent in an effort to get a closer look, but the object began ascending toward him as if it were trying to meet him halfway, he explained.

He then abandoned his slow circular descent and decided to fly straight towards the object.

The Importance of Good Manners "IndyWatch Feed Allworld"

Editors note: The following essay The Fine Art of Living Together by Bentley Bates comes from The Boys Own Book of Leadership, published in 1933.

A heap of fellows think manners dont amount to much. They have an idea it is sort of sissy to be polite. Theyre not using their heads. Just as oil makes an engine run more quietly and easily and efficiently, so do manners make your life and the lives of the folks with whom you come in contact run more quietly and pleasantly and efficiently. Good manners are a mighty valuable asset that anybody can have cheaply.

There is something which you owe to everybody and which has no exact date when it must be paid, because it is due every minute and second of your life. You owe courtesy to the strangest people. Actually, you owe it to your brother and sister. It doesnt seem possible, but you do. And you owe it to your father and mother. You owe it the ash man and to washwoman. You owe it to the President of the United States and to the blind man who tries to sell you a lead pencil on the street corner. When you were born you gave the whole world a promissory note payable in courtesy, and you have to make it good every second of your life until you die. Do you know why people loved Abraham Lincoln so much? It was because he never forgot that he was paying his courtesy note, says The American Boy.

A certain Harvard professor, in instructing a class in good writing, said to them: To write well you must first think of your subject; second, think of the people you are writing to; and last, think of yourself. These same simple rules may easily be made effective rules for a boys manners also. First, think of the demands of true sympathy and kindness; second, think of the person you are addressing; and last, think of what is owing to yourself, for the real secret of good manners is a kind heart.

The story is told of a certain office boy who kept a whole, big, busy office happy and agreeable and kindly disposed toward one another by his habits of courtesy and good will. One day the boss wheeled suddenly in his big chair and said: Bennie, who on earth taught you to be so polite? You often make me ashamed of myself.

Bennie smiled, grinned from ear to ear, stood on one foot a bit abashed, and then with a sudden inspiration replied:

Well, sir, Mother is polite, Dad is polite, and and oh, I guess I just caught it from them.

Nothing in the world is so catching as good manners.

One of the surest of all tests of character is ones manners. You do not need to know a boy intimately to judge him accurately. All you need to do is to watch him a bit in action; such as playing a game. If he is kind and sympathetic, if he is manly and honest and considerate, he will show these very qualities all over and....

Santas Horned Helper "IndyWatch Feed Allworld"

In ancient times, a dark, hairy, horned beast was said to show up at the door to beat children, and carry them off in his sharp claws. The Krampus could be heard in the night by the sound of his echoing cloven hooves and his rattling iron chains. The strangest part was that he was in league with Santa Claus.

The Christmas Terror

The unnerving beast was no demon, however. He was the mythical Krampus, companion to Saint Nicholas (known as Santa Claus, Father Christmas, Kris Kringle, etc.) While Saint Nicholas now has the reputation of loving all children and visiting them at Christmastime, judging their character and giving gifts to the nice ones and lumps of coal to the naughty ones, Krampus plays the dangerous sidekick.

It is believed that the long-horned, shaggy, goat-like monster with a long, angry face and lolling, forked tongue would visit the home of misbehaving children to punish them. It was believed he would give beatings, and kidnap the kids, bringing them down to his underworld lair to live for a year.

According to the centuries-old legends, if a child misbehaved, Saint Nicholas, in his omniscience, would know and send his associate, Krampus. It was said this dark partner with a serpentine tail would turn up to the house during the Christmas season to punish the wicked child; He would beat him with a bundle of birch sticks, whip them with horsehair, and throw him into a sack or wicker basket to take him down to Hell for a year.

If being good for Santa wasnt enough for a delinquent, Krampus reputation and fearsome appearance terrified children into behaving. As such, it was a useful tale told to children to scare them into goodness.

Residents of a small Oklahoma town fear they are being used by Homeland Security as test subjects for the chemical/biological warfare testing

A planned chemical/biological test by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has residents of a small Oklahoma town in fear that they are being used as human guinea pigs, as the federal government prepares to carry out plans for biological testing in the area next month.

DHS announced plans to conduct chemical and biological testing near the border between Kansas and Oklahoma in January and February, and again in June and July, to determine how much protection people would receive from being inside a house or an apartment in the event of a biological terrorist attack, according to a statement on the Homeland Security website.
