1. Methylisothiazolinone: A high concern for acute aquatic toxicity and some concern for skin irritation, allergies, and damage. It is especially harmful to people with sensitive skin (European Chemicals Agency database).
2. C9-11 Pareth-8: Some concern for acute aquatic toxicity and allergic reactions on the skin.
3. Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (SLS): Some concern for chronic aquatic toxicity, acute aquatic toxicity, damage to vision, and general organ damage.
4. Fragrance: An unspecified ingredient that companies can use to hide hundreds of other harmful chemicals.

In addition to these ingredients, Dawn dish soap also contains other harmful substances such as phosphates, triclosan, sodium laureth sulfate (SLES), diethanolamine (DEA), monoethanolamine (MEA), triethanolamine (TEA), chlorine, formaldehyde, and ammonia.

Is Dawn Dish Soap Biodegradable and Safe for the Environment?

Although Dawn claims to use biodegradable surfactants in its soap, the majority of its ingredients are not biodegradable. Furthermore, Dawn dishwashing liquid comes packaged in a plastic bottle, which is not biodegradable and can only be recycled if washed thoroughly and accepted by local recycling facilities.</p> <p>Dawn Dish Soap and Wildlife</p> <p>Despite advertising that its dishwashing soaps help save wildlife, Dawn dish soap has detrimental effects on the environment. Ingredients such as methylisothiazolinone, sodium lauryl sulfate, and C9-11 pareth-8 are known to cause adverse effects on aquatic life. The crypto market is down today, paring Ethereum's post-Shapella rally with the total cryptocurrency market capitalization losing nearly 4% in 24 hours.

A chief strategist of the Wall Street bank, Morgan Stanley has pointed to a big drop in lending amid tightening standards,  meaning the credit crunch in the United States has started. Mike Wilson claimed that the banking crisis, which started with the collapse of Silicon Valley Bank (SVB), has led to a tightening of lending standards.

Wilsons warning comes over a month after massive deposit runs caused two lending banks, Silicon Valley Bank and Signature Bank, to fail within days. A third lender, First Republic, ended up being the recipient of a $30-billion rescue from top Wall Street banks in the form of deposits. The big players stepped in over investor fears that First Republic would become the next institution to fail.

According to a report by RT, in a note seen by Business Insider, Wilson said that lending levels have seen the steepest decline on record over the past two weeks. He attributes the drop to US banks attempts to offset the breakneck pace of deposit flight in the month since the collapse of SVB.

The data suggest a credit crunch has started, the analyst said in a Sunday note, noting that $1 trillion in deposits has been withdrawn from U.S. lenders since the Federal Reserve began its series of rate hikes nearly a year ago.

To those investors cheering the softer-than-expected inflation data last week, we would say be careful what you wish for, Wilson warned, pointing to the March Consumer Price Index report that revealed the inflation rate has been climbing less than projected. If/when revenues begin to disappoint, that margin degradation can be much more sudden, and thats when the market can suddenly get in front of the earnings decline we are forecasting.

I have a question re re-mineralization of water.
From what I see rainwater is closer to distilled what makes it more acidic what apparently is not good comparing to loaded with chlorine, fluoride and other minerals (some desirable some not) mains water.
I collect rainwater to IBC to black tanks (to prevent algae buildup) and drink it with minimal filtering. Just initial debris filtration then carbon filter like Berkeley but DIY...

With each passing day, we witness how so many individuals are subjected to unexpected upheaval, irreversible damage, devastating loss, injury, and death. The uprooting of peoples lives caused by these events and their substantial adverse impacts give rise to a range of trauma-related physical and psychological consequences for direct victims as well as for those related to them. In many instances, even those witnessing these tragedies experience physical, psychological, social, and spiritual distress.

As a rule, mainstream psychiatry and psychology situate the causes of these problems within the individuals impacted. Then subsequent treatment focuses solely on this level. However, there is a far more powerful force at work behind these harmful events. Omission of the role played by this cause is not due to ignorance or simple misunderstanding. Rather, its impact is intentionally obfuscated and denied by psychiatrists and psychologists who perpetuate a restrictive view of the nature of human suffering in which those afflicted are abstracted from the larger contexts they are inextricably embedded in. In doing so, they not only benefit from this neglect, but actually contribute even further to suffering they profess to seek to alleviate. That missing cause is systemic oppression.

In my book, Embracing Disillusionment: Promoting Liberation through the Demystification of Suffering, I detail a rationale for the argument that oppression is the single greatest factor contributing to human suffering. To understand the impact of oppression, consider how the prolonged dependency of human infants results in their exceptional vulnerability to inadequacies and adverse influences in the social environment into which they are born and raised. Most people who emerge from caves these days are either enthusiastic spelunkers or people in need of rescue. However, one Spanish extreme athlete purposely chose to descend below the earth and remain in a cave all alone, cut off from the world, in the name of scientific research. After 500 days underground, 50-year-old Beatriz Flamini emerged on Friday, April 14, 2023, back into the light. Her long stay in the cave was a remarkable feat and has generated interesting data and opportunities for research on what such extended isolation can do to the human body and mind.

When Flamini chose to go into the cave on Saturday, November 20, 2021, she was well prepared with a support team in place. At the time of her descent into the 230-foot-deep cave near Granada, the world was a very different place. Her native Spain still had a mask mandate due to COVID-19. Queen Elizabeth II still sat on the throne of England. Roe v. Wade was still law of the land in the United States. Russia had not yet re-escalated the war in the Ukraine. Former President Trump had not yet been indicted. However, as all these things happened, Flamini learned nothing of it. Infamous Keynesian economist Paul Krugman, who adores government control and the enslavement of mankind through the monetary system, says not to worry. Theres no risk to the dollar unless the United States defaults on its loans.

So whats the solution? The same one all Keynsians have: break more windows, cause more harm, interfere more, and definitely create more fiat currency out of thin air so the ruling class doesnt have to stop spending money.

In an op-ed for the New York Times on Friday, Krugman pointed to growing fears that the dominance of the dollar could soon be challenged by rival currencies, such as Chinas yuan, as the nation rises as a competing economic superpower.

Krugman claims there are three reasons why the greenbacks place as the worlds reserve currency is secure:

1. The dollar has incumbency on its side and is already a widely held reserve currency that was involved in 90% of all global transactions over the past decade, according to an estimate from the Bank of International Settlements. That means there would need to be exceptional circumstances for the dollar to be replaced as one of the worlds top currencies, Krugman said.

2. US Financial markets are open, though Chinas yuan is often restricted by the nations tight capital controls. In practice, that makes the dollar more liquid than the yuan, and therefore more desired.

3. The US legal system offers more protection for holders of the dollar, Krugman said. Unless youre a dictator planning to commit major war crimes, you neednt fear that the US government will impound your asse...

New Film Follows Endangered Rhinos and Explores How Technology Can Bring the Species Back

Five years ago, the last male northern white rhinoSudanpassed away. With his death, the fate of the species seemed sealed. There are only two females still living, so how could the endangered species possibly find a way to survive? The answer may be technology. Thanks to the work of a consortium of scientists known as BioRescue, there is still hope that the northern white rhino can make a comeback. Using in-vitro fertilization and stem-cell science, BioRescue has created 24 viable embryos using the eggs of the last two females alive and the frozen sperm of deceased male northern white rhinos.

Acclaimed photographer and filmmaker Ami Vitale has been following the story closely, starting with the day in 2009 that Sudan made his way from a zoo in the Czech Republic back to Kenya. She was also there for his last breath, with her photographs bringing international attention to this wildlife crisis. Since 2018, when Sudan passed, she's been actively working with BioRescue to make a miracle happen.

In her new short film, Remembering Sudan, Vitale traces the plight of the northern white rhino. Using the voice of the people who know the rhinos besttheir caretakersit's an incredible look at loss and hope. The film highlights the work of Zacharia Mutai, a keeper at northern Kenya's Ol Pejeta Conservancy, where Sudan lived. Mutai shares his connections to these animals and his memories of Sudan. As head rhino keeper, he has an intimate bond with these animals and gave comfort to Sudan in his last moments.

Now, he's also a witness to a new possibility for the species thanks to advanced technology. Vitale's film pushes us to mourn the loss of these animals, while also allowing us to marvel at the innovations that could give them a chance to survive. If BioRescue is able to successfully implant the embryos in female southern white rhinos, who will act as surrogates, it could change what we know about extinction. And it could mean a different fate for the more than 14,000 endangered species on our planet today.

During a special gala ceremony in London, the World Photography Organisation revealed the overall winners of the 2023 Sony World Photography Awards. Portuguese photographer Edgar Martins was given the honor of being named Photographer of the Year for his moving series of images to honor his friend, photojournalist Anton Hammerl, who was killed while covering the Libyan Civil War in 2011. Along with Martins, the overall winners of the Open, Youth, and Student competitions were also revealed, as well as some special award recipients.

Martins won a $25,000 cash prize and Sony imaging equipment and will have a solo presentation of his work at next year's Sony World Photography Awards exhibition. For Martins, the win is not only about validating his photography, but also about bringing more visibility to his friend's disappearance.

It is a huge honor to be recognized and although I am philosophical about awards and the subjective nature of someones choice, knowing that there were over 180,000 entries to this years Professional competition, is very humbling, he shared. Now if you have been following the Seymour Hersh revelations that we have been reporting on he was the first to give definitive evidence that the USA was behind the terrorist attack on the Nordstream pipeline. He has now been doing more investigative work and says that the CIA know for a fact that Zelensky and his cronies have pocketed over $400 MILLION through a scam!

In his blog, Hersh writes  The Ukraine government, headed by Volodymyr Zelensky, has been using American taxpayers funds to pay dearly for the vitally needed diesel fuel that is keeping the Ukrainian army on the move in its war with Russia.

It is unknown how much the Zelensky government is paying per gallon for the fuel, but the Pentagon was paying as much as $400 per gallon to transport gasoline from a port in Pakistan, via truck or parachute, into Afghanistan during the decades-long American war there.

The issue of corruption was directly raised with Zelensky in a meeting last January in Kyiv with CIA Director William Burns. His message to the Ukrainian president, I was told by an intelligence official with direct knowledge of the meeting, was out of a 1950s mob movie.

The senior generals and government officials in Kyiv were angry at what they saw as Zelenskys greed, so Burns told the Ukrainian president because he was taking a larger share of the skim money than was going to the generals.

UNAIDS is one of the organizations that was involved in drafting this document, and on their official website they claim that many global laws that prohibit certain types of sexual behavior not only violate human rights but the fundamental principles of criminal law themselves.  Alarmingly, among the laws that are being targeted by globalists are laws that ban adults from having sex with children.

It turns out that they have been working on The 8 March Principles for quite a long time.

The principles are the outcome of a 2018 workshop organized by UNAIDS and OHCHR along with the ICJ to discuss the role of jurists in addressing the harmful human rights impact of criminal laws. The meeting resulted in a call for a set of jurists principles to assist the courts, legislatures, advocates and prosecutors to address the detrimental human rights impact of such laws.

The principles, developed over five years, are based on feedback and reviews from a range of experts and stakeholders. They were finalized in 2022. Initially, the principles focused on the impact of criminal laws proscribing sexual and reproductive health and rights, consensual sexual activity, gender identity, gender expression, HIV non-disclosure, exposure and transmission, drug use and the possession of drugs for personal use. Later, based on the inputs of civil society and other stakeholders, criminalization linked to homelessness and poverty were also included.

In 1971, I joined a communist party while working in the factory of the highest-paid General Electric (GE) defense plant in the country. I was repulsed by pictures of our military dropping napalm on Vietnamese children, convinced that the justifications of our government were lies, and I was drawn to the idea that the working class would soon take over the world and create a utopia.

The group that I joined was split off from the American Communist Party. It was supposed to be democratic and centralist. I quit the group after two months when it tried to give me orders without understanding what was actually happening. I saw that it was all about Centralism without any democracy. But I stayed in the GE factory for 13 years, participating in movements that reformed both the workers union and GE.

But what about revolution and who are the workers? I did not have a violent bone in my body, and treated the terms revolution and workers like metaphors, not taken seriously by me or anyone else (including our probable FBI monitors). But the need for dramatic social and political change stayed with me, and my notion of the workers grew to include almost everyone who is not a billionaire or flunky.

Over the years, I have participated in personal, union, community, school, environmental and political reform efforts, always aware that, even though we often won victories, we were shoveling shit against the incoming tide of empire, greed, militarism, autocracy and disintegration.

In 2017, I met Bitcoin and was entranced by the idea of money that was independent of corporations and governments, that was limited to 21 million, created by solving math problems, guarded by vigilant nodes, decentralized and not rigged by and for the elite. A professor of cell biology in Japan faked data in an influential cancer study published in Nature Neuroscience in 2019, according to an investigation by Okayama University. 

The school, which released a report with its findings last month (in Japanese), found no fewer than 113 instances of fabrication as well as problems with several images in the paper, titled Genetic manipulation of autonomic nerve fiber innervation and activity and its effect on breast cancer progression.

The report identified Okayamas Atsunori Kamiya as being involved in the misconduct and recommended retracting the article, which has been cited 134 times, according to Clarivates Web of Science. The paper has yet to be retracted, but an editor from the journal said they are looking into the case. 

Kamiya also is a former director of the Department of Cardiovascular Control at the National Cerebral and Cardiovascular Center Research Institute in Suita, Japan. The center took part in Okayamas investigation...

Venezuela has faced a multitude of problems over the past few years, including an economic crisis, political unrest, crime, and infrastructure that has already partially collapsed. These issues produce a significant impact on the countrys agriculture sector and particularly on local food producers, without access to large credits or other privileges. 

They face blackmail and bribery at roadblocks, adverse weather conditions, cattle theft, and other challenges.

Bribery at Roadblocks

One of the most significant security problems that local food producers in Venezuela face is bribery at roadblocks. In the worst of the severe economic crisis, which led not too long ago to shortages of basic goods like food and medicine, many people (this is still happening but to a lesser degree) resorted to smuggling food, fuel, and other essential commodities out of the country (to Colombia, mostly) to sell them at a higher price.

To control this illegal activity, the government had to set up numerous roadblocks across the country. However, these roadblocks became a breeding ground for briberyand corruption. Local food producers who transport their goods from rural areas to cities often face harassment at these roadblocks. The officials manning the roadblocks have very low wages; then, they resource to demand bribes from the producers in exchange for allowing them to pass through.

This practice not only increases the cost of production for the farmers: they simply pass on this expense to the final customer but also discourages them from producing more food. It is not like this is something new; dishonest uniforms have been doing this since the Spanish crown times. But with the upcoming of these modern times, with all the societal control they grabbed, and with an International Court doing nothing (that is another history) until very recently, thanks to the good management of the new General Attorney, the situation became much more common. To make things worst (something this sort of regime seems to love), the words of the non-acknowledge head of State to the uniforms were: You will have to make money doing what you can because the country cant pay your salaries. Go figure.

Oh, and by the way. Dont think it can happen anywhere. History has proven that officers with guns will go rogue when they dont receive payment, and they know the institutions are dismantled enough to proceed with law enforcement. Which is EXACTLY the situation down here.

Even a bad Bright Eyes album can top a lot of peoples best work. Not this one, though. Its essentially garbage. We legitimately thought this record was a haphazard compilation of demo recordings, but Wikipedia assured us that it is indeed considered to be the bands legitimate debut album. If we were to do a ranking of the most unlistenable albums of all time, A Collection would certainly hit the top 5. Imagine someone found all of your journal entries from the eighth grade and paired them with all of the half-written songs you have saved in your voice memos. That should give you a pretty good idea of what this record sounds like.

SYRACUSE, N.Y. Drummer Brent Englewood of local punk band Crows and Ravens was uncharacteristically dejected after dropping one of his sticks while performing in front of a packed house on Saturday night, multiple cringed sources report.

I.IIm not sure what happened, a clearly distraught Englewood explained. The place was packed, the energy was high and the entire crowd was loving every minute of it. Then it happened: I went for a very simple fill during our fourth song and next thing I know, the stick in my dominant hand went hurling across the stage and into the audience. The worst part is that I forgot to bring a backup pair, so I was forced to play the rest of the set with only one stick. Englewoods girlfriend Mary Stonold noticed an immediate change in his behavior since the incident.

Our relationship just hasnt been the same, Stonold said. Whenever we go out to dinner, he just does this 1000-yard stare with his head down, directly into his food. I tell him its nothing to be embarrassed about, and that it happens to a lot of drummers. He even wears drumming gloves 24/7 now just in case. Music historian Todd Burke noted other musicians who found themselves in embarrassing situations on stage.

Since its inception, rock and roll has been littered with onstage blunders, Burke explained. The standard for embarrassing mishaps was set pretty high in the early days. He went scooting across the stage and all of a sudden, BAM! Blew out a knee right on American TV. His career somehow still took off even after that egregious gaffe.

At press time, Englewood decided to duct tape his drumsticks to his hands during performances, which helped him maintain full control of them a good 75% of the time.

I got into Westchester Airport on Thursday night for my cousin Trevors wedding. In the car, Big Mike switched from 1010 WINS to the CD that has lived in the stereos of a 1992 Plymouth Voyager, a 1999 Dodge Caravan, and three Subaru Foresters.

In Billy Joels 12th outing, the Angry Young Man has reached a bitter, frustrated middle-age, ready to express himself in songs that are meticulously crafted, produced, and truly just fucking awful.

1. No Mans Land
In the opening track of the quadruple platinum album, Joel attempts a Springsteen-esque rant against consumerism and the suburbs, but comes off like tryhard Huey Lewis yelling Operator! to a recorded phone menu. In exchange for getting a ride to this familial obligation, Dad has enlisted me to look at his phone, laptop, and Roku.

2. The Great Wall of China
At the time of recording, Joel filed lawsuits accusing both his lawyer/manager and ex-brother-in-law/manager of ripping him off. This song allegedly addresses these individuals and his subsequent loss of trust in a way that comes out cranky and goofy. To make conversation, my dad mentions that Trevors finance is loaded. He trails off repeating, Must be nice seven or eight times.

3. Blonde Over Blue
A song by a successful musician about how much he loves his supermodel wife. Yawn. By trying to be the romantic, the working man, the philosopher, and the showman all at once, he misses the mark on all of them. Dad makes sure to mention that Joel used to be married to Christie Brinkley and Uptown Girl was about her.

4. A Minor Variation
Another track rumored to be about the former friends who ripped him off. An effort at blues-tinged rock that just comes off as whiny. Also, I learned Mark, from the Hebrew School carpool, has his own escape room now.

5. Shades of Grey
An over-produced philosophical rock jam, which would be at home as a Sammy Hagar-era Van Halen B-side. The song is lyrically overstuffed, much like my boxes in the attic, which apparently I need to clean out.

6. All About Soul
This is a more straightforward tune about Christie Brinkley, who I am once again reminded was the subject of Uptown Girl. Its probably the best song on the album, but again, a guy in his Hamptons mansion belting out an 11 oclock number about his devotion to a Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition Cover Model. And that Long Island choirboy singing gross back then, radioactive now.

7. Lullabye (Goodnight, My Angel)

Hillsboro is Historic in the West Virginia Hills & Mountains

Brigadier General William W. Averell and his Federal troops encountered Confederate troops led by Brigadier General John Echols at Droop Mountain on November 6, 1863. The federal army had encountered Echols while on their second attempt to the Virginia-Tennessee Railroad located at Salem, Virginian. Echols and his troops positioned themselves on the high ground of Droop Mountain, a tactical advantage to the smaller army. However, despite using artillery to block the road, the Confederate troops were overwhelmed by Averells men. The Battle of Droop Mountain served as the final significant Civil War battle for the newly formed West Virginia. The site of the battle was declared West Virginias first state park on July 4, 1928.</p> <p>In 1892, famous author Pearl S. Buck was born in a large white two-story house at the northern end of Hillsboro. Shortly thereafter, her family, Presbyterian missionaries, returned to China, but her West Virginia roots nevertheless had a significant impact on Pearl through her mother Carrie.</p> <p>The Dutch-style city house, now on the National Register of Historic Places, has been restored into a museum, The Pearl S. Buck Birthplace. It displays an array of antiques from the 1892 period, including many family originals. Any company that is adopting WOKE should be out of business for what they are really doing is dividing the country and completing what our computer has forecast the breakup of the United States. The WOKE Agenda is attacking the religious beliefs of many and that historically always leads to division, discrimination, and often outright war.

When a company endorses what they think is some political agenda, it will lose the business from the opposition. This whole thing about transgender is out of control. Instead of eliminating discrimination, they are creating it. People will then blame the transgender movement for all sorts of things as they have done to Jews, Catholics, Muslims, and Protestants. There is no solution here. By endorsing WOKE, they are undermining the religious beliefs of others. You end up creating disunity not unity.

Companies should NEVER take sides in politics especially when they attack religious beliefs. It is one thing to lobby for your business against some regulation. But endorsing this WOKE agenda is part of the Great Divide that is clearly a major factor contributing to the demise of the United States by dividing the people between blue and red. Abortion already offends many religious beliefs. Then there is taxation and war. This WOKE Agenda will be one of the factors historians will look back on for breaking up the United States.

During the Hard Times that followed the Panic of 1837, there was discrimination against the Irish Catholics for taking jobs when they migrated to the States. That led to even gun battles on the street. Just as Germany singled out the Jews, any time you single out any group, you divide your society, undermining the states foundation.
