Want to hear history? Through the University of California Santa Barbara Cylinder Audio Archive, the tunes and voices of over a hundred years ago can be projected from your computer or phone. The internet archive compiled over 10,000 wax cylinder recordingsknown as phonograph cylindersfrom the earliest years of sound recordings. Invented by Thomas Edison in 1877, the phonograph became a vehicle for late 19th and very early 20th-century sound.

The wax cylinders recorded sound through engravings on their surfaces. The sound could then be played back on a phonograph, a machine similar to a modern record player with a large horn. Companies began to mass produce cylinders that recorded songs and orchestras played live. Those who happened to own their own recording equipment could even make home recordings. All these genres can be found in the UCSB archives. From the 1890s to the late 1910s when disc format began to be used, this dominant medium captured the sounds of turn-of-the-century America.

My sister, Marie, (29) and her husband Zach (40) had their first child, a beautiful baby girl, 2 months ago. They have been pretty nervous parents, so when my husband Tom (42) and I (37) were invited to finally meet our niece, I was thrilled except I was worried about Tom making an ass out of himself.

You see, Tom and Marie have always had a hard time getting along because they do not agree on nearly anything, and Tom has always gotten a kick out of challenging Marie on their differing views because they are both very opinionated.

The thing is to Tom, it is funny to watch Marie react when he says things to provoke her, and Marie always wants to prove his views wrong. In his head, because she was in grad school for social sciences (she finished right before having her baby) and is knowledgeable about the topics that Tom wants to argue about, Marie shouldnt have a problem with debating him because its literally her job.

In the past, both Tom and Marie have initiated these arguments, and they have both been guilty of taking it too far in the past. But ever since she got pregnant/ had a baby Marie has calmed down a lot, whereas Tom still tries to bait her into debates about touchy subjects (mainly politics and personal values). This got to a point where Marie blocked him on all social media a few months ago.

A school district in Pennsylvania is threatened with being sued by an after-school Satanist club after allegedly refusing them access to school grounds for religious activities, a report from the Guardian has revealed.

The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) sent a letter to the Saucon Valley school district on behalf of the club, asking them to allow the After School Satan Club (ASSC) to access school facilities in line with the First Amendment of the US Constitution.

Mitochondrial dysfunction is at the root of most all chronic diseases, and it also plays a crucial role in conditions such as long COVID, which is becoming quite common. Its also a root factor that must be addressed in COVID jab injuries, regardless of symptoms or severity.

US Life Expectancy Falls in Historic Decline

Allopathic medicine has been a leading cause of death in the U.S. for over two decades. In 1998, researchers concluded that properly prescribed and correctly taken pharmaceutical drugs were the fourth leading cause of death in the U.S.

Two years later, in 2000, Dr. Barbara Starfield published her groundbreaking paper, "Is US Health Really the Best in the World?"¹ in which she provided data showing that medical errors by doctors were the third leading cause of death. Little has changed since then.

In 2016, Johns Hopkins patient safety experts calculated that more than 250,000 patients died each year from medical errors, again pegging it as the third leading cause of death.²

In July 2022, the National Institutes of Health concluded the annual death toll from medical errors could be as high as 440,000 and possibly even more because of lack of reporting making it, still, the third leading cause of death.³

In future years, I believe the medical intervention sold as "COVID vaccines" will prove to be the No. 1 killer of Americans, and were already seeing that trend. Something extraordinarily odd happened in 2020 and 2021, something that shaved nearly three years off the life expectancy in the U.S.⁴

Even a tenth or two-tenths of a year mean decline in life expectancy on a population level is a big deal, as it means a lot more people are dying prematurely than they really should be. A three-year drop is simply unheard of.

Right now, there are three types of COVID-19 tests:¹

• Molecular Also known as a PCR (polymerase chain reaction) test, this test detects whether genetic material of the virus is present in the sample collected from your throat or sputum (the back of your sinuses)
• Antigen This test, sometimes referred to as "rapid test," detects viral proteins
• Antibody Also known as a serology test, it detects the presence of antibodies in your blood

The first two, molecular and antigen, are so-called "viral tests" that detect active infections, whereas the antibody test will tell you if you've developed antibodies in response to a previous coronavirus infection. It typically takes your body one to three weeks after an infection clears to start making antibodies against the virus in question.

Common Cold Can Trigger Positive COVID-19 Antibody Test

Each of these COVID-19 tests have their issues and controversies. The problem with antibody testing is that there are seven different coronaviruses known to cause respiratory illness in humans.² Four of them cause symptoms associated with the common cold:

• 229E
• NL63
• OC43
• HKU1

In addition to the common cold, OC43 and HKU1 two of the most commonly encountered betacoronaviruses³ are also known to cause bronchitis, acute exacerbation of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and pneumonia in all age groups.⁴ The other three human coronaviruses which are capable of causing more serious respiratory illness are:

At face value, fake meat sounds like the perfect solution to end world hunger, protect animal welfare and save the planet from environmental destruction. Even a brief look below the surface reveals a much more nefarious reality, however.

Fake Meat Is All About Controlling the Food Supply

Fake food including lab-grown meat, animal-free dairy and plant-based meat is the globalists' latest attempt to control the food supply. Former U.S. Secretary of State and national security adviser Henry Kissinger once said, "Control oil and you control nations; control food and you control people."² Controlling people is their whole agenda.

The globalists have long held a monopoly on the grain industry with their patented genetically modified organisms (GMOs). In the early 2010s, not many people knew about GMOs. In 2011, we started to educate the public about their dangers, as they posed a major threat to public health and the environment.

In 2012, a ballot initiative was launched in California to require mandatory labeling of genetically engineered (GE) foods and food ingredients. The initiative was narrowly defeated due to massive donations from multinational corporations, but we won in the long term because awareness of GMOs in the food supply significantly increased. A recent paper, which included results of the fear of contagion and its behavior, focused on a younger population.  Authors of that paper, which was revised in October 2022, shared that, The main conclusion reached by this manuscript is that, as the existing specific literature has already shown, COVID-19 has had different negative psychological consequences among certain vulnerable groups, including adolescents and young adults. The results presented allow us to verify, within these psychological consequences, how the symptoms of generalized anxiety or major depression disorder are a consequence of the fear of COVID-19.

AITA for being mad at my wife for releasing a bunny in the middle of the yard?

A few days ago my kids found a little bunny and brought it home. And they were begging us to keep it. But we cant keep a wild rabbit and already have several pets.

The bunny was big enough to fend for itself. And I tried to nicely tell my kids that it needs to go back home to its family. They were sad, but agreed to take it back. However, I was busy with work and couldnt go with them.

So my wife went. I told her to take the bunny to some thorn bushes at the end of the property and let it go there. Because thats the safest place to do it. We live in a country area ripe with predators.

Well I went back to work. But a little while later my kids came running back into the house loudly crying with my wife trailing after and trying to calm them down and tell them its not so bad.

I asked what happened, and my eldest said that mama made them let the bunny go in the middle of the yard, and a hawk took it. They even described the poor bunnys screams. I was mortified, and then angry at my wife for not letting it go the way Id advised.

She defended herself and said it Was just a bunny! The kids will get over it!. But I said that was absolutely wrong. And I warned her of predators. And now our kids had to see that poor bunny get carried away by a hawk. Both of our kids shut themselves...

AITA for being annoyed my MIL ate my dinner?

Tonight my MIL came over for dinner I made Swedish meatballs in gravy with mashed potato, broccoli and home made bread.

In my house we tend to eat in the lounge room unless its a big event so I dish up everyones meal. Kids, MIL and husband I take their meals to them and then before serving mine I have to run out to the line and grab some clothes that I hung out earlier. No big deal.

I served up generous portions for everyone way more than I thought they could eat but when I got back from the line my dinner was gone. I asked if anyone knew what had happened to the food on the bench and MIL pipes up and says she wanted some more.

Shes piled her bowl FULL of meatballs. Way more than she would ever eat. Im stunned. I figure oh well. Ill just grab some fast food a bit later or something because maybe she was super hungry. My bad for not cooking enough.

But once shes eaten what she wants, she asks for a container so she can take her extra portion home for dinner the next night. Im pretty annoyed at this point and mention that it was meant to be my dinner for that night, not her takeaway meal for the next night. She says oh well you can eat it then and I reply with no thank you. And hand her a container. ( I didnt want to eat her leftovers.)

Researchers Develop an E-Fabric That Generates Enough Power To Charge Your Phone

We've all been in a position where our phone runs out of battery, but we don't have anywhere to charge it. Well, what if the clothing you were wearing could help you out? It's an option that isn't as outlandish as you might think, thanks to work by researchers at Nottingham Trent University.

Dr. Theodore Hughes-Riley, Associate Professor of Electronic Textiles at the Nottingham School of Art and Design, led research that has resulted in the development of an innovative e-textile that's embedded with 1,200 photovoltaic cells. The cells combined together are capable of harnessing 400 milliwatts (mWatts) of electrical energy from the sun. It's enough to charge a basic mobile phone or smartwatch.

The e-textile, which is breathable and flexible, could be incorporated into clothing and accessories ensuring that you'll never be without a charge again. The e-textile behaves just like any other piece of fabric and can handle washing at 40C (104F). This is possible thanks to the waterproof polymer resin that wraps the 5 by 1.5 mm photovoltaic cells.

This prototype gives an exciting glimpse of the future potential for e-textiles, shared Dr. Hughes-Riley. Until now very few people would have considered that their clothing or textiles products could be used for generating electricity. He continues, Electronic textiles really have the potential to change peoples relationship with technology, as this prototype shows how we could do away with charging many devices at the wall. This is an exciting development which builds on previous technologies we have made and illustrates how it can be scaled up to generate more power.

For those who are afraid of heights, climbing to the top of a skyscraper may seem like a terrifying endeavor. While there are many tall buildings in the world, there is one that stands above the rest. At 2, 722 feet, the Burj Khalifa in Dubai is currently the tallest building in the world. Artist Andr Larsen shows people what it would look like to fall from that extraordinary height.

Originally from Norway but currently based in Dubai, Larsen piloted a drone from the very top of the Burj Khalifa to the near ground. Watching the video is a surreal experience, making you feel like you are on the journey down this imposing skyscraper. There are 163 stories totals in total, and Larsen takes the drone down as close as he can to the majority of them. It feels like you're on a rollercoaster.

While the drone flies by the building, you are also able to catch glimpses of Dubai's incredible cityscape, including a body of water and many other spectacular buildings. Then, Larsen straightens the drone's course so it skates over the nearby surroundingsbringing the spectacular ride to an end.

But, more often than not, what ends up coming out on camera is something forced. Many of us have been there. Author and designer Adam Perry has developed his own trick when photographing his son, and the results speak for themselves. So, next time you want to take a good picture of your child, you might want to take a cue from Perry and shout poop before you snap away.

If imagining the scenario makes you giggle, that's actually why it works so well. Perry posted the evidence on Twitter, where side-by-side photos of his 5-year-old son show the effect of this toilet humor.

He has the cutest strained smile, almost like Hide the Pain Harold, Perry shared. My wife and I discovered a few years back that if we yelled out something funny and mildly inappropriate and were ready to snap right away, we could get something good out of it.

Sadly, Perry also confessed that this hack stopped having an effect on his older son, who no longer finds poop so amusing. But, since tweeting his tip, he's heard from a lot of other people who have used his poop trick to get a great photo of their kid.

The portrait, which was taken on the first day of school, instantly went viral. Parents everywhere related to his struggle to get a good photo, and photographers applauded his ingenuity. Many also commented on the funny, and inappropriate, words that use to elicit smiles when it's picture time.

What if I told you, then, that the biggest one ever found was heavier than a full-grown man?

The worlds largest gold nugget was found in Victoria, Australia, on February 5th, 1869. John Deason and Richard Oats, two Cornish miners, dubbed their find Welcome Stranger, and recorded its weight as 158.7 pounds.

It was 24 inches long.

The nugget was so large it wouldnt fit on the scale at the London Chartered Bank in Dunolly; they had to break it up before it could be photographed whole.

It was melted down into gold bullion and the men received around 10k euro.

Today, it would likely be worth over 2 million.

After China banned bitcoin mining in May 2021, nearly 75% of global hash rate was dispersed and relocated to other countries such as Kazakhstan, Russia, the United States and Canada. Since the seemingly-devastating mining ban took hold in the mining hotbed of China almost two years ago, the landscape of Bitcoin mining has dramatically changed. Remarkably, hash rate has continued to grow and currently stands at around 320 exahashes per second (EH/s), with the U.S. alone estimated to account for almost 37% of all hashrate.

This hypercompetitive growth has prompted miners to seek more efficient ways to manage their operations at scale, with miner management software being a vital part of their strategy.

Management software is changing the landscape of Bitcoin mining by allowing mining facilities to manage their site effectively while saving costs and responding to energy grid demand.

Which of these scenarios applies depends in large part on your states laws and regulations today more so than federal regulations.

For example, Texas requires all school districts to adopt an integrated pest management program for school buildings; IPM prioritizes nonchemical pest control methods and includes some protections regarding spraying of grounds. Massachusetts also restricts pesticide use on school grounds. Illinois requires IPM for school buildings only if economically feasible. States also vary greatly in the education and technical assistance they provide to implement these practices.

As youll know by now the BBC is rapidly being consumed by a crisis of its own making after it axed Gary Lineker from Match of the Day until further notice.

The decision to ditch Lineker has seen a long line of BBC stars walk out in solidarity and left its sports schedule on TV and radio in absolute tatters on Saturday.

And what is most extraordinary for many people is the double standards being meted out to Lineker compared to the BBCs own chairman, Richard Sharp.
