Farmers Market Wayville "IndyWatch Feed Allworld"

Adelaide families now have the opportunity buy fresh food directly from producers from all over SA at the Adelaide Showground Farmers Market. The 20,000 strong crowd that turned up for the farmers market which formed the centrepiece of the 'Go Organic Festival' in September in 2005 encouraged the Royal Agricultural and Horticultural Society (RAHS) to back the foundation of a permanent farmers market by a not-for-profit community organisation. The market opened on October 1st 2006 with a massive crowd of 10,000 shoppers and runs each Sunday (apart from the weeks of the Royal Show) from 9am-1pm.

In the tradition of farmers markets, it is a food market at which both food producers and consumers can get a fair price for food produced in SA and support regional and sustainable land use. The market guarantees that you buy direct from the producer and is known for its strict adherence to the ethics of farmers markets which now number in their thousands worldwide as families seek to avoid overstored food from major retailers who pass on meagre prices to farmers. In Australia, the farmers market movement is represented by the Australian Farmers Market Association and SA's peak body, the SA Farmers Market Association, will soon be launched.

The Adelaide Showground location is superb, with a major bike trail, the Glenelg tram line, a major rail line, numerous bus routes all converging to make it one of the most accessible sites in Adelaide. Parking is also easy and cheap.

120 producers offer their extraordinarily diverse products (everything from oysters to almonds and bread to boysenberries!). It is accessed from the car parks at the Leader Street (southern) end of the Showgrounds.

Becoming a member brings with it 10% discount on all purchases as well as a right to vote in the management of the market. Details and memberships are available at www.adelaidefarmersmarket.com.au.

The Food Forest is a foundation stallholder at the market and presents a wide range of foods, always including its signature specialty - organically certified pistachio nuts. We are there on alternate weeks (we run short courses on the other weekends).

A Front Company and a Fake Identity: How the U.S. Came to Use Spyware It Was Trying to Kill "IndyWatch Feed Allcommunity"

The secret contract was finalized on Nov. 8, 2021, a deal between a company that has acted as a front for the United States government and the American affiliate of a notorious Israeli hacking firm. Under the arrangement, the Israeli firm, NSO Group, gave the U.S. government access to one of its most powerful weapons a geolocation tool that can covertly track mobile phones around the world without the phone user's knowledge or consent. Only five days earlier, the Biden administration had announced it was taking action against NSO, whose hacking tools for years had been abused by governments around the world to spy on political dissidents, human rights activists and journalists. The White House placed NSO on a Commerce Department blacklist, declaring the company a national security threat. The secret contract ... violates the Biden administration's public policy, and still appears to be active. The contract, reviewed by The Times, stated that the "United States government" would be the ultimate user of the tool, although it is unclear which government agency authorized the deal and might be using the spyware. Elements of America's expansive national security apparatus in recent years have bought the weapons, deployed them against drug traffickers, and have quietly pushed to consolidate control of them into the hands of the United States and its closest allies. The F.B.I. purchased access in 2019 to NSO's most powerful hacking tool, known as Pegasus, which invades mobile phones and mines their contents.

Censorship by Proxy: How Big Tech Censors Global News Platforms "IndyWatch Feed Allcommunity"

Big Tech giants and their oligarchic owners now engage in a new type of censorship, which we have called "censorship by proxy." Censorship by proxy describes restrictions on freedom of information undertaken by private corporations that exceed limits on governmental censorship and serve both corporate and government or third-party interests. Censorship by proxy is not subject to venerable First Amendment proscriptions on government interference with freedom of speech or freedom of the press. Censorship by proxy alerts us to the power of economic entities that are not normally recognized as "gatekeepers." For example, in 2022, the digital financial service PayPal (whose founders include Peter Thiel and Elon Musk) froze the accounts of Consortium News and MintPress News for "unspecified offenses" and "risks" associated with their accounts, a ruling that prevented both independent news outlets from using funds maintained by PayPal. Consortium News and MintPress News have each filed critical news stories and commentary on the foreign policy objectives of the United States and NATO. PayPal issued notices to each news outlet, stating that, in addition to suspending their accounts, it might also seize their assets for "damages."  Joe Lauria, editor in chief of Consortium News, said he believed this was a case of "ideological policing." Mnar Adley, head of MintPress News, warned, "The sanctions-regime war is coming home to hit the bank accounts of watchdog journalists."

Pentagon Tries to Cast Bank Runs as National Security Threat "IndyWatch Feed Allcommunity"

In recent months, the Pentagon has moved to provide loans, guarantees, and other financial instruments to technology companies it considers crucial to national security a step beyond the grants and contracts it normally employs. So when Silicon Valley Bank threatened to fail in March following a bank run, the defense agency advocated for government intervention to insure the investments. The Pentagon had even scrambled to prepare multiple plans to get cash to affected companies if necessary, reporting by Defense One revealed. Their interest in Silicon Valley Bank stems from the Pentagon's brand-new office, the Office of Strategic Capital. The secretary of defense established the OSC in December specifically to counteract the investment power of adversaries like China in U.S. technologies, and to secure separate funding for companies whose products are considered vital to national security. The national security argument for bailout, notably, found an influential friend in the Senate. As the Biden administration intervened to protect Silicon Valley Bank depositors on March 12, Sen. Mark Warner, D-Va., who chairs the powerful Senate Intelligence Committee and also sits on the Banking Committee, issued a press release warning that the bank run posed a national security risk. Warner the only member of Congress to have publicly tied SVB to national security has received significant contributions from the financial sector. Since 2012, Warner has received over $21,000 from Silicon Valley Bank's super PAC.

Note: Many tech startups with funds in Silicon Valley Bank were working on projects with defense and national security applications. US Army awards Lockheed up to $4.5 bln missiles contract "IndyWatch Feed Allcommunity"

Lockheed Martin Corp (LMT.N) said on Monday the U.S. Army has awarded a multi-year production contract for Joint-Air-to-Ground Missiles (JAGM) and HELLFIRE missiles, in a deal that could go up to $4.5 billion including follow-on awards. The contract, which will have a total value of $439 million in its first year, is among the first multi-year awards for precision munitions, as the Pentagon looks to build stocks in the hopes of deterring China. In March, President Joe Biden requested $842 billion for the Pentagon and $44 billion for defense-related programs at the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Department of Energy and other agencies. The 2024 budget proposal is $28 billion more than last year's $858 billion. Lockheed added the contract also offers three additional follow-on awards which will start in late 2023, allowing for a total contract value of up to $4.5 billion over the next four years. The JAGM program anticipates a "significant increase" in international demand for the weapon system, Lockheed said.

Note: Many benefit financially from warfare when it comes to provoking proxy wars and furthering U.S. agendas of full-spectrum dominance, as thoroughly explored in the book War is a Racket by the highly decorated general Smedley D. Butler. According to a revealing report, at least 47 members of Congress and their spouses hold between $2 million and $6.7 million worth of stock in Lockheed Martin and other companies that are among the top 100 defense contractors.

The leaves are useful for cooking and wrapping. And even the stump can make you clean water.

Apparently, doctors havent gotten the memo that the thinking portion of the public has already figured out these shots and boosters dont prevent any kind of illness. omicron is more contagious but causes less severe illness, and that people should still be subjecting themselves to the disastrous mRNA booster.

Throughout his career, actor Jack Black has played his fair share of iconic characters in films such as High Fidelity (2000), Nacho Libre (2006), and Tenacious D in The Pick of Destiny (2006). But no role has matched the endearing and raucous guitarist Dewey Finn from School of Rock (2003). Not only was this movie praised by critics back when it was released, but it even spawned a Broadway musical and a TV show. Now, as its 20th anniversary approaches, Black has just announced that he is planning a reunion with his co-stars from the film.

Black made the announcement during a red carpet interview with Entertainment Tonight. All those kidsdig thisthey were 10 years old when we made that movie and now they're all, like, 30, Black said. We're gonna get together and have a 20-year anniversary. We like to jam. I'm looking forward to seeing all of the grownups from School of Rock. Black, who is very active on Instagram, has promised to share images and videos of the encounter.

While Black may be the most recognizable member of the cast, School of Rock propelled the careers of some its stars. Miranda Cosgrove, who played band manager Summer Tinkerbell Hathaway, went on to star in the in the teen sitcom iCarly. And Mike White, who appears as Ned Schneebly, Dewey's responsible roommate, created, writes, and directs HBO's acclaimed series The White Lotus.

Though this will certainly be a momentous occasion, it won't be the first time Black has reunited with some of his co-stars from School of Rock. For the 10th annive...

This croc chasing an alligator is todays most edge of your seat 58 seconds "IndyWatch Feed Allcommunity"

You surely wont be closer to the edge of your seat than you find yourself watching this croc chasing an antelope, a 58-second clip that has just gone wildly viral on Reddit.

No spoilers.

The adrenaline of this scene where a buck swims for his life from a crocodile
by u/CharityNo9966 in nextfuckinglevel

Thank goodness for that. Anyone out there rooting for the croc? Thought not

And people had a theory why the croc kept appearing to change course (and thereby allowing its meal to go free).

Croc accidentally pressed R3 and changed targets for a second there.
Neo-Chromia

I saw that too. He kept going underwater to swim faster but must have started chasing the louder noise of the boat rather than the buck. Thats some good bucking luck.
Firm-Guru

The observer effect. Their act of observing changed the outcome.
EddyArchon

Yeah kinda feel bad that the croc didnt get dinner but then would feel bad for the buck being dead. Humans shouldnt interfere with stuff like this.
MrNobody312

Deer swim surprisingly fast.
nderstandablyscared

Ever try swimming for your life? Might be faster than your regular skinny dip.

To conclude

F-ck that was tense.

Crystal Tumblers and Decanters Glint in the Sun in Photorealistic Embroideries by Lucy Simpson "IndyWatch Feed Allcommunity"

A realistic embroidered glass decanter in an embroidery hoop.

All images Peacocks and Pinecones, shared with permission

Reflecting her interest in drawing and photorealism, Lucy Simpson of Peacocks and Pinecones embroiders the glinting edges of glass and metallic objects in painstaking detail. Each piece is composed by directly observing decorative items like crystal tumblers and decanters, with some of the larger compositions taking upwards of 200 hours to complete. Its a slow process, and as a person who isnt naturally patient, its a real endurance test for me, she says. I feel a real sense of accomplishment when I finish a piece.

Simpsons interest in needlework goes back to childhood and spending time with her grandmother, from whom she learned some basic skills at an early age. Fast forward to around five years ago when the artist had just given birth to her third child, and she took up cross-stitching from patterns as a way to relax. I had been diagnosed with postnatal depression and anxiety, and my sister bought me my first kit to try and take my mind off things, she says. I loved how I had to completely focus on what I was doing, which left no room for intrusive thoughts. After a while, I decided I wanted to stitch my own designs and came across an embroidery style called thread painting and decided to have a go myself.

CleanSpark To Nearly Double Bitcoin Mining Capacity With $144.9M Antminer Purchase "IndyWatch Feed Allcommunity"

The public mining company has purchased 45,000 Antminer S19 XP miners in line with its goal of reaching 16 EH/s by end of year.

CleanSpark Inc., a public Bitcoin mining company, has announced its purchase of 45,000 brand-new units of the Antminer S19 XP bitcoin mining machines, at a cost of $144.9 million. The company expects all units to be delivered by the manufacturer by the end of September, with a 95% increase in computing power once deployed according to a press release sent to Bitcoin Magazine.

CleanSpark has approximately 15.9 EH/s of machines on hand or under contract for delivery this year, edging closer to its year-end guidance of 16 EH/s. The company will deploy all of the acquired units at its bitcoin mining facility in Sandersville, Georgia, which is currently undergoing a planned 150 MW expansion. The machines will be deployed in multiple batches as they arrive on site and new rack-space becomes available, with all machines expected to be fully operational before year-end.

Zach Bradford, CEO of CleanSpark, stated, As bitcoins halving draws closer, our focus on operational efficiency, our technical expertise, and our treasury management strategy, will all play a crucial role in solidifying CleanSparks position among the top bitcoin mining companies in America. Gary Vecchiarelli, CleanSparks CFO, added, Securing XPs at these prices means we have one less variable in our capital expenditure equation and puts us well on our way to achieving our year-end guidance of 16 EH/s.

According to the press release, CleanSpark predominantly mines bitcoin with low-carbon energy sources, which account for over 90% of its energy mix, and the company follows what it describes as a balanced capital management strategy by selling some of its mined bitcoin to reinvest in growth.

This most recent miner purchase is in addition to a 20,000 machine purchase announced in February, with those machines fully paid for and in the process of being delivered to the companys Washington facility. They are expected to be energized later this quarter, according to the press release, adding an additional 2.44 EH/s of machines to CleanSparks operational hashrate.

Pocket Bitcoin Announces Acquisition Of Bitcoin Wallet App Bitkipi "IndyWatch Feed Allcommunity"

The acquisition means Pocket Bitcoin now has its own in-house wallet app for users looking to buy bitcoin using the service.

Swiss-based non-custodial bitcoin-exchange Pocket Bitcoin has acquired popular bitcoin wallet app Bitkipi, the company announced on Monday. According to a press release sent to Bitcoin Magazine, the acquisition will help Pocket Bitcoin solidify its focus on self-custody and provide users with a platform for buying and holding bitcoin in their own wallets. Previously, customers could set up Pocket with their own existing wallets via the companys website and stack bitcoin using simple bank transfers.

"We believe that everyone should have access to the financial freedom that bitcoin provides, and the Bitkipi app will be instrumental in helping us achieve that goal," said David Knezi, CEO and co-founder of Pocket Bitcoin. With this acquisition, Pocket Bitcoin now has an in-house wallet app that enables beginners to easily get started with bitcoin and self-custody, the press release describes.

Bitkipi's founder expressed excitement to join forces with Pocket Bitcoin and bring their vision to life. "We have been working hard to create an easy-to-use, secure, and reliable bitcoin-only wallet app that can help newcomers get started with bitcoin," said the founder of Bitkipi. The app will continue to be available on both the App Store and Google Play, and current users can expect to see continued updates.

According to the press release, in almost two years, PocketBitcoin has already exchanged over ~$54 million (50 million) in bitcoin for customers from all over Europe and paid them out on self-custodial wallets.

Anyone interested in learning more about Pocket Bitcoin's bitcoin-only platform can visit their website at pocketbitcoin.com.

MIT Confirms RNA Vaccines Can Be Absorbed Through Stomach and Intestines "IndyWatch Feed Allcommunity"

This article was originally published by Ethan Huff at Natural News under the title: MIT Confirms That RNA Vaccines Can Be Absorbed Through The Stomach And Intestines, So What About mRNA Vaccines in Meat Animals?

There is much debate over whether or not the administration of messenger RNA (mRNA) Wuhan coronavirus (Covid-19) vaccines in meat animals will in any way affect the quality of the meat. The establishment is suggesting that fully vaccinated meat is just as safe as natural meat, but what does the science say?

On Jan. 31, 2022, MIT News published a piece revealing that RNA vaccines deliver therapies for gastrointestinal disease straight through the stomach and intestines. This would imply that the drugs distribute into the body, including in muscle tissue.

The article is very straightforward, and our readers are encouraged to read through it for themselves to see what MIT had to say versus what the government and media are now saying in defense of mRNA vaccine administration in meat animals.

(Related: Check out our earlier coverage about the introduction of mRNA vaccines for livestock, and what you can do to try to avoid buying contaminated meat.)

Does mRNA persist like many believe, or does it degrade like the government claims?

The general public is now wide awake about the threat of mRNA, and many who deliberately avoided taking the mRNA jabs during the pandemic worry that the food they are eating might vaccinate them without their knowledge and consent.

One meat producer, Alderspring Ranch and Organic Beef Matters, responded to inquiries it has been receiving lately about the use of mRNA vaccines in meat cattle. Here is what Glenn Elzinga of Alderspring Ranch had to say:

When researching this subject, I found it very clear that no company is yet offering mRNA animal vaccines on the open market. First of all, no one drug company has laid claim to be the first to produce it or put methodologies in place that would allow for mass production. Second, I found many articles (some very recent) stating that the grant process is still ongoing. In other words, animal pharmaceutical production companies are just now getting money to explore the new technology for all classes of livestock.

This is somewhat reassuring, but what about in the future when mRNA vaccines become commercially available for American livestock? Elzinga says it is still...

I had forgotten about that until I saw your lovely post and suddenly I remembered that the crews really did seem to enjoy having a kid around. Thanks for reminding me.

How Many Times Should Parents Have To Apologize For A Stressful Childhood? "IndyWatch Feed Allcommunity"

There are a lot of parents out there who are selfish and dont put their kids first, even if they could.

There are far more parents, I think, who are doing their best in circumstances that might not be easy at all.

That said, the trauma that kids in either situation might end up with as a result isnt null and void just because there was nothing else you could have done to prevent it.

OP is the mother here, and acknowledges that as a young and struggling single mother, there were many times her oldest daughter had to go without.

She says she did her best, buying gifts for important occasions and such, but that they never really had anything extra.

I (45F) had my daughter, CJ (now 28F) when I was 17 years old. Her father did not stick around and we really struggled for a bit. Even when I graduated college, I had a bunch of student loan debt as well as juggling rent, food and other expenses. CJ never lacked necessities, but I admit she didnt get a lot of material possesions.

I would try to save up as much as possible to make Christmas and birthdays as fun as possible, but she didnt get much else throughout the year and we only went on 2 vacations total in her childhood.

We definitely ate a lot of struggle meals and had to move often. We honestly teetered on the poverty line.

Now her daughter is grown and OP is married with two much-younger children. Because circumstances are different, shes able to give her youngest kids a life that wasnt possible with her oldest.

That said, she tries her best to make it up to her daughter when she can. She pays for vacations, gives her random gifts, and the like.

When CJ was 17, I was finally debt free, got a promotion at work and was doing much better. I did start to give her thin...

Virginia Mori Twists Everyday Anxieties into Dreamlike Illustrations "IndyWatch Feed Allcommunity"

A gif of a swimmer jumping into a pool on a larger figure's face

All images Virginia Mori, shared with permission

Through pen and ink renderings, Virginia Mori continues her elegant and surreal interpretations of the prosaic. The Italian illustrator and animator (previously) gravitates toward the everyday and turns moments of relative simplicity into strange otherworldly scenes. Plucking a book off of a shelf reveals a figure lurking behind the volumes, for example, while an enormous detached head plummets to the earth where a team awaits with a cushion for a safe landing. Often featuring minimal palettes of pastel colors, the introspective works meld relatable feelings of anxiety, hesitation, and fear with dreamlike inventions.

Currently, Mori has works on view in a group exhibition through May 7 at the Seoul Museum and is preparing for another opening in September at Jiro Miura Gallery in Tokyo. Shop prints of her illustrations at Librera di Fursaglia and stay-hop, which also sells t-shirts, cards, and her latest book Feeling Bed. "IndyWatch Feed Arts" "IndyWatch Feed Allcommunity"

Italy is widely celebrated for having vigilantly preserved its food culture, with the result that many dishes there are still prepared in more or less the same way they have been for centuries. When you taste Italian food at its best, you taste history to borrow the name of a Youtube channel whose success has revealed a surprisingly widespread enthusiasm for the cuisine of bygone eras. But some of Italys most globally beloved comestibles arent quite as deeply rooted in the past as people tend to assume: there are no records of tiramisu, for instance, before the nineteen-sixties; ciabatta, the Italian answer to the baguette, was invented in the early nineteen-eighties.

Neither of them appear anywhere in Historical Italian Cooking, a bilingual blog in English and Italian that teaches how to partake in far more venerable culinary traditions. A variety of periods are represented: the nineteenth century (Neapolitan calamari, tagliatelle and beef stew), the Renaissance (crostini with guanciale and sage, elderflowers fritters), the Middle Ages (monks stuffed-egg soup, quails with sumac), and even the time of ancient Rome (cuttlefish cakes, Horaces lagana and chickpeas).

What Preppers Should Know About the Use of Herbs During Pregnancy "IndyWatch Feed Allcommunity"

Pregnancy can be a huge issue in the best of times! When times get hard, its even more so. Some say that a pregnant woman is in a delicate condition with good reason. Her body has changed to accommodate the needs of the child growing inside of her womb. Shes eating for two (or more) and all of the things that go with that. And Ive yet to meet a pregnant woman who could find a comfortable position after a few months!

Theres good reason that obstetric care is an absolute must, even in the worst of times. So how can herbal medicine help? What should you know about using herbs during pregnancy, and most importantly, what herbs are contraindicated? Read on!

In this article, Ill discuss some herbal options along with any available scientific bases. The references Im using, as before, are Cat Elliss Preppers Natural Medicine, The Green Pharmacy by James Duke, and Brigitte Mars Natural First Aid Handbook

Remember: the pregnant woman is eating for two or more. In order to maintain her own health and the health of the developing child(ren), the importance of a healthy diet cannot be overemphasized. GWAR Forced to Build Costume and Elaborate Backstory for Tambourine Player Featured in One Song "IndyWatch Feed Allcommunity"

RICHMOND, Va. Thrash metal band GWAR was forced to build an immense costume and elaborate backstory for a tambourine player that was featured in just one song on a recent release, sources confirmed.

I got hired to play on a track, and next thing I know theyre handing me a 200-page character bible, said session tambourinist Thomas Paige, now known in the band as Adolfus Cumlizard. They insisted I memorize the whole thing before I go on tour with them. I just play on the bridge, and suddenly I have to pretend to be, what they called, a multiversal fuckbeast. They gave me a costume and I nearly put my eye out when I tried to put it on. Cant believe I went to Juilliard for this. But theyre tripling my daily rate so I guess Ill roll with it.

The primary members of the band seemed excited about adding the tambourine player to their ranks.

Adolfus Cumlizard will tear your fucking face off and then piss on your skull, said lead guitarist Pustulus Maximus. This crazy mamma jamma comes from a planet where they fuck volcanos to reproduce. He knows the caldera g-spot and hell hit it and cause Mt. Vesuvius to bust all over Rome. He splooges on the audience in shows and they love it. His tambourine creates a sonic boom that compels all puny humans to fuck until they die from dehydration. No gatorade on his planet.

Music expert Janet Oakes explained that this is not the first occasion of a temporary band member being absorbed into a bands lore.

This happens all the time, Oakes explained. I remember in 2007, Slipknot contracted 200 members of the Boston Gay Mens Chorus to provide backing vocals in a concert and had to spend thousands of hours coming up with unique masks for each of them. A few were clearly Halloween masks from Party City, but most were of very high quality. Also Okilly Dokilly would routinely make their backing musicians get major cosmetic surgery to look exactly like Ned Flanders. Its an industry standard.

At press time, Paige was admitted to the hospital after scalding their hands while mixing a vat of corn syrup and red food coloring to simulate volcanic semen for the upcoming tour.

Every Nine Inch Nails Album Ranked "IndyWatch Feed Allcommunity"

Nine Inch Nails is a hard band to categorize. Best known as the side project of the guy that created the award-winning music for Pixars Soul, it has something for everyone. Whether you only know that one Johnny Cash song they covered or obsess over collecting every Halo number, Trent Reznor has released eleven angsty, edgy LPs that weve ranked for your inner goths listening pleasure.

11. Pretty Hate Machine (1989)

The greats have to start somewhere. This second-rate Depeche Mode tribute with lyrics that appear to have come from a high school sophomore fresh out of the poetry class he got a C- in, in NINs case. And just listen to the production. Did they have GarageBand in 1988?

Play it again: Head Like a Hole, somethings gonna get broken!!!
Skip it: Down In It. Rain, rain, go away? Lord help us.

10. The Slip (2008)

This album took about a week to make, and boy, does it show. Take the first real opening track, 1,000,000, which features a riff Tool has employed dozens of times already. It lives in the shadow of the first Ghosts release, and suffers from being the most forgettable thing NIN has released. Even releasing this sucker for free didnt help.

Play it again: The Four of Us Are Dying has a pretty sick beat. If it was on Ghosts I-IV (its an instrumental), it would have carried the whole project.
Skip it: Discipline. King Crimsons mind-numbing track of the same name is far more worthy of the title.

Death Metal Vocalist Accidentally Slips Into Customer Service Voice Onstage "IndyWatch Feed Allcommunity"

POMONA, Calif. Liz Gore, lead vocalist of local death metal band Afterbirth, reportedly slipped into a strained and high-pitched customer service voice onstage last Wednesday, disturbed sources confirmed.

I sped to the gig from my shift at The Undies Drawer, so I was hot off work mode. When I saw the pit open up, I started hearing my boss in my ear demanding to know why I hadnt offered the people running into each other a shopping bag, said Gore. I only snapped back to it when I remembered we were playing our song Nose Breaker and not a Charlie Puth remix over a mall speaker. Have you found everything alright today? Shi

Gore is known around the local scene for their angry expressions and moaning gutturals, so the crowd was shocked to witness the unsettling personality shift.

Everyone was moshing, feeling the deep growls about salivating blood. Then Lizs eyes went glossy, and they had this pained smile as they were talk-singing falsetto about the 42 pairs for $10 sale, said fan Owen Feng. After that, they made a beeline through the crowd to the merch guy, grabbed some shirts from him, and yelled Im getting the vibe you need a dressing room, you gorgeous goddesses. It was the most fucked up shit Ive ever seen, and Ive seen someone get their pelvis broken after a botched stage dive.

Music critic Sal Felbert has praised Gore for ushering Afterbirth into a new era of sound, and being the first non-binary death metal vocalist to pull out a company walkie-talkie on stage.

It seems that Afterbirth is making a statement about the chokehold of capitalism. Its a pit of hell that other bands have been too scared to touch and instead have opted to sing about chicken-shit like massacre and flesh-eating, said Felbert. Gores vocals make you feel like a shell of a person forced to follow a possibly armed shoplifter and the dissonant backing from the band leaves you worrying about whether you, too, will get your shift covered.

At press time, Gore has since been awarded at work with a bonus that can only be used at the store itself.

We Sit Down With Our Dad To Ask, Hypothetically Speaking, What Would Happen if We Totaled His Car "IndyWatch Feed Allcommunity"

I think I can say without hyperbole that I have the coolest, most chill dad ever. The way he keeps his cool and doesnt let petty bullshit bother him is admirable, unlike some fathers who berate their kids over every little mistake. To gauge just how naturally composed he is, we presented him with a scenario in which and this is purely hypothetical mind you we went on a joyride with his prized classic car and completely destroyed it.

Thanks for coming, you look great by the way. Are you using a new moisturizer? You dont look a day over 50!

Whatever you want, Im not buying it for you. Im meeting your uncle for lunch so make it quick. And why do you have my keys?

Fair enough. Okay, so I think Ive paid my dues to society driving the familys minivan. Dont you think I deserve just a taste of pure American muscle to raise hell around town for just an afternoon?

Oh thats rich. In what scenario would you ever be behind the wheel of my 68 Camaro? You would need to have a death wish! OK but seriously, I need to head out. Hand over the keys.

Right! But in some wacky parallel universe, and not earlier this morning, where I did take it for a spin and tried to pull a Blues Brothers style jump in an abandoned construction site, how would you move on from that?

First of all its worth more than your college tuition, so youd be spending the rest of your life and then the afterlife paying me back. Secondly, there would be no moving on because it was your grandfathers and its irreplaceable. Wait, did you barricade the garage door?

Oh yeah, I think I accidentally knocked over your beer fridge. Clumsy me! But back to the car. You have insurance, right? Just a paint touch up here or there, push some dents out of the bumper, and reassemble the drivetrain provided all the pieces of it were recovered and it would be like nothing happened. Hypothetically speaking, naturally.

If were JUST speaking in hypotheticals and wasting each others time, what if I just walked into your room and smashed up your old school video game consoles and tore up your Pokemon cards? What if I told your girlfriend that you slept with a stuffed animal until you were 22? What if wait, is that a headlight in the garbage can? YOU ARE A DEAD MAN.

This Woman Felt Upstaged At Her Wedding. Was She Wrong To Call Out The Responsible Party? "IndyWatch Feed Allcommunity"

I think we can all accept that weddings make people a little bit crazy. Even folks who are normally pretty even-keeled can get more sensitive and say things that they later regret, which is how situations like this one arise.

OP has a sister-in-law who she admits is pretty, invests in her appearances, and enjoys dressing nicely.

She says she doesnt begrudge the woman any of these things.

I (30F) recently got married to Matt (30). Matt has a stepsister, Tiffany (28F). I have met her less than 10 times in the five years I dated Matt as she doesnt live nearby and is not close to my husband. However, she was invited to our wedding.

I should mention that Tiffany is very attractive. She is pretty, with a currently fashionable body type, she also dresses well and spends money on her appearance. This is well known and even though Ive only met her a few times whenever she is brought up by my in laws she always mentioned as being very invested in her image.

I dont begrudge her this at all.

Then, the sister-in-law showed up at her wedding looking fabulous enough to be the talk of the room for most of the night, leaving the bride feeling jealous and upstaged.

She says she muscled through and went on her honeymoon determined to just let it go, as they rarely see the relative in the first place.

The ceremony went fine, but afterwards, while my in laws were congratulating me, my FIL commented that I looked beautiful, and in the next breath mentioned Tiffany did, too. His wife caught his eye and shook her head, but I ignored it.

An 8-Year-Old Boy Who Went Missing in Washington Was Found 8 Months Later in Missouri "IndyWatch Feed Allcommunity"

Its troubling to think about how many children go missing in the United States every single dayAnd its even more terrifying to think about how many of those missing children never come home again.

But this story has a happy ending!

An 8-year-old boy named Breadson John went missing from Vancouver, Washington on June 17, 2022. Concerned community members alerted the police, who performed a wellness check and discovered the boy was missing.

In January 2023, authorities learned that John had been taken to Jasper, Missouri, and the FBI released a missing person poster they hoped would help them locate the boy. On February 17, 2023, eight months after he disappeared, the FBI announced that they located the young boy in Missouri.

Richard A. Collodi, Special Agent in Charge of the FBIs Seattle field office, said, Breadsons recovery would not have been possible without the combined efforts of the Vancouver...

How Many Millions Are Disabled or Injured From the Jab? "IndyWatch Feed Allcommunity"

We're beginning to see the fallout from the mass COVID-19 shot campaign, which has been referred to as the "greatest violation of medical ethics in the history of medicine, maybe humanity."1

Former BlackRock analyst and fund manager Edward Dowd is one of the few trying to get the word out about COVID-19 shot risks, and he's been using data and statistics to prove his point and publicize the undeniable increase in deaths and disability among young, healthy adults that has occurred since the shots' widespread rollout.2

This group the 148 million employed Americans between the ages of 18 and 643 is typically a healthy crowd. This is why private insurance companies love to sell group life insurance policies to large Fortune 500 corporations and mid-sized companies they hardly ever have to pay out on a claim. But this is changing.

Dowd's 2022 U.S. Vaccine Damage Report4 revealed a sobering glimpse into the true carnage that occurred at the hands of the COVID-19 shot campaign, and its results are striking.

300K Excess Deaths, Millions of Injuries, Billions in Costs

Dowd and colleagues published their 2022 Vaccine Damage Project at their website, Phinance Technologies.5 It revealed the following estimated human and economic costs:6

Human Cost Economic Cost
  • 26.6 million injuries
  • 1.36 million disabilities
  • 300,000 excess deaths
  • Total: $147.8 billion
  • Injuries: $89.9 billion
  • Disabilities: $52.2 billion
  • Excess deaths: $5.6 billion

To put this into perspective, John Leake writes on Courageous Discourse, "Note that this death count in one year is 5.2 times the number of men killed in 10 years of combat in Vietnam," adding:7

"Perhaps the most extraordinary thing about this state of affairs is that most Americans don't know it's happening. Every day, young people are dying from heart attacks, strokes, and seizures caused by COVID-19 vaccines. Most of their families and friends are led to believe that they just died suddenly and unexpectedly of acute conditions...

What Can Forced Vaccination Teach Us About Medical Ethics? "IndyWatch Feed Allcommunity"

One of the greatest challenges I have faced throughout my medical career is having watched physicians on so many occasions push dangerous and unnecessary treatments on patients, assuring them that they are safe.

Some of these treatments inevitably injure those patients. When this happens, if the patient asks about causation, the doctor will tend to insist that the injury had nothing to do with the doctors therapy and instead attribute it to some other cause like pre-existing anxiety.

This dynamic is commonly referred to as medical gaslighting (summarized here), and one the most perplexing things about it is that the majority of doctors who gaslight their patients are very intelligent individuals who sincerely want the best for their patients. Since this profound contradiction is so systemic throughout the medical field, I believe that the problem transcends the individual doctor, and the root causes need to be examined to understand why it happens.

For example, I believe a major issue is that physicians go through a medical training process which does provide trainees with the capacity to be able to recognize most medical injuries.

Medical Education and Medical Ethics

Medical education is currently structured in such a way that medical schools are largely judged by their ability to prepare students to get good scores on board exams. As a result, pre-clinical curriculums are geared towards maximizing board-relevant content, of which there is a lot leading to the first two years of medical school commonly being analogized to the student drinking from a fire hose.

This, in turn, prevents a significant amount of material (which many believe is important for becoming a competent physician) from making it into the pre-clinical curriculum (which is a problem since the structured component of ones medical education largely disappears after the pre-clinical years conclude).

One of the largely neglected subjects in our medical training is medical ethics. Presently, medical school accreditation bodies require this subject to somehow be taught in the curriculum, and the medical board exams provide a few questions testing the subject. This results in the medical ethics education typically consisting of a few lectures that are largely geared towards learning the concepts tested on boards.

Board examinations, in turn, require one to understand the four principles of medical ethics (do no harm, conduct actions that benefit the patient, respect the patients autonomy, ensure limited medical resources are fairly distributed), and then answer logical questions pertaining to given situations. This process results in medical ethics being something that doctors can logically...

Who Owns the World? "IndyWatch Feed Allcommunity"

Editors Note: This article is a reprint. It was originally published October 29, 2021.

Until recently, it appeared economic competition had been driving the rise and fall of small and large companies across the U.S. Supposedly, PepsiCo is Coca Colas competitor, Apple and Android vie for your loyalty and drug companies battle for your health care dollars. However, all of that turns out to be an illusion.

Since the mid-1970s, two corporations Vanguard and Blackrock have gobbled up most companies in the world, effectively destroying the competitive market on which Americas strength has rested, leaving only false appearances behind.

Indeed, the global economy may be the greatest illusionary trick ever pulled over the eyes of people around the world. To understand whats really going on, watch Tim Gielens hour-long documentary, MONOPOLY: Who Owns the World? above.

Corporate Domination

As noted by Gielen, who narrates the film, a handful of mega corporations private investment companies dominate every aspect of our lives; everything we eat, drink, wear or use in one way or another. These investment firms are so enormous, they control the money flow worldwide. So, how does this scheme work?

While there appear to be hundreds of competing brands on the market, like Russian nesting dolls, larger parent companies own multiple smaller brands. In reality, all packaged food brands, for example, are owned by a dozen or so larger parent companies.

Pepsi Co. owns a long list of food, beverage and snack brands, as does Coca-Cola, Nestle, General Mills, Kelloggs, Unilever, Mars, Kraft Heinz, Mondelez, Danone and Associated British Foods. Together, these parent companies monopolize the packaged food industry, as virtually every food brand available belongs to one of them.

These companies are publicly traded and are run by boards, where the largest shareholders have power over the decision making. This is where it gets interesting, because when you look up who the largest shareholders are, you find yet another monopoly.

While the topmost shareholders can change from time to time, based on shares bought and sold, two companies are consistently listed among the top institutional holders of these parent companies: The Vanguard Group Inc. and Blackrock Inc.

Pepsi and Coca-Cola An Example

For example, while there are more than 3,000 shareholders in Pepsi Co., Vanguard and Blackrocks holdings account for nearly one-third of all shares. Of the top 10 shareholders in Pepsi Co., the top three, Vanguard, Blackrock and State Street Corporation, own more shares than the remaining seven.

Now, lets look at Coca-Cola Co., Pepsis top competitor. Who owns Coke? As with Pepsi, the majority o...

An Open Letter To Texas State Senator Lois Kolkhorst "IndyWatch Feed Allcommunity"

<p><p class="subtitle">"We encourage you to engage further with bitcoin miners to better understand the matter generally and the consequences of your legislation."</p> <p><em>This letter was originally published on <a href= "https://bitcoiner.ghost.io/open-letter-to-texas-senator/">bitcoiner.ghost.io</a>.</em></p> <p>Dear Senator Kolkhorst,</p> <p>As native Texans, we are writing to express concern regarding Texas Senate Bill (SB) 1751, which you co-sponsored and which recently passed a <a href= "https://capitol.texas.gov/tlodocs/88R/billtext/pdf/SB01751S.pdf?ref=bitcoiner.ghost.io"> Business & Commerce Committee vote on April 5, 2023. This open letter follows a private appeal submitted via your office in March. We write as concerned Texas citizens who are independent and do not represent any company or lobby.

From the outside looking in, you seem to be a proud Texan who fights for the rights of all Texans, promoting liberty and freedom consistent with Texan values. SB 1751 is a notable departure, at least in critical aspects, from your past track record. It is misinformed, discriminatory, anti-competitive, harmful to the interests of grid stability, bad for consumers and a strategic setback for Texas.

For context, the bill concerns virtual currency mining and demand response. It seeks to limit the ability of bitcoin miners to participate in compensatory ERCOT programs, which incentivize load reduction, to 10% across all bitcoin miners in total. Prior to sponsoring SB 1751, it is unclear whether you engaged in discussions with bitcoin miners to better understand the matter or expressed any opinions on bitcoin or bitcoin mining at all. It is also unclear whether special interests lobbied for this bill, given you do not appear to have previously taken any positions on bitcoin, but on the merits alone, SB 1751 is problematic.</p> <h2>Misinformed</h2> <p>The bill concerns virtual currency mining as demand response. Really at issue is bitcoin, not virtual currency broadly. There are no miners of any currency other than bitcoin that could be of note participating in demand response programs or promoting grid reliability. Bitcoin is also definitionally not comparable to any other currency, and it is not virtual. Bitcoin is not crypto. Bitcoin is bitcoin, and if bitcoin is at the heart of your bill, a better understanding before legislating would be beneficial.</p> <p>Bitcoin is a form of money with a fixed supply, which is global and permissionless. There will only ever be 21 million bitcoin. That is the basis of its value to the world. As was apparent from a recent tweet, you seem to recognize that inflation is a problem. Inflation is not a political phenomenon. Money is created by the Federal Reserve (Fed). The Fed has increased the money supply <a href= "https://fred.stlouisfed.org/series/WTFSRFA?ref=bitcoiner.g...

Unlike the U.S., China Issues Warning about Dangerous ChatGPT AI Financial Bubble "IndyWatch Feed Allcommunity"

by Brian Shilhavy

As someone who grew up with modern computer technology and at one time earned my living from it, and as someone who not only lived through the dot.com financial collapse but has also owned an ecommerce business for over 21 years and has survived multiple economic downturns, it has been plainly obvious to me that the current financial frenzy over chat AI hype is one of the largest developing financial bubbles being blown up with no real model of generating revenue at this time.

And yet, hardly any other financial analyst has come out to expose this very dangerous financial bubble that could burst at any time, and potentially sink the entire economy, until today.

But that financial analysis over the current spending frenzy regarding AI did not come from any financial analysts in the U.S., but by the Chinese Government.

China is the worlds second largest investor in technology start-ups by venture capitalists, with only the U.S. spending more.

A boom in artificial intelligence startup funding sparked by OpenAI has spilled over to China, the worlds second-biggest venture capital market. Now American institutional investors are indirectly financing a rash of Chinese AI startups aspiring to be Chinas answer to OpenAI.

For The Record, NPR Absolutely Is US State Propaganda "IndyWatch Feed Allcommunity"

This article was originally published by Caitlin Johnstone at Caitlin Johnstone.substack.

American liberals are in an uproar over Twitters recent labeling of National Public Radio as US state-affiliated media, a designation typically reserved for state media from governments the US is trying to topple like Russias RTChinas CGTN, and Irans Press TV.

In an article titled Twitter labels NPRs account as state-affiliated media, which is untrue, NPRs Bill Chappell attempts to argue that his outlet does not deserve to have the same labels affixed to it as state media from naughty governments like Russia and China:

Noting the millions of listeners who support and rely upon NPR for independent, fact-based journalism, NPR CEO John Lansing stated, NPR stands for freedom of speech and holding the powerful accountable. It is unacceptable for Twitter to label us this way. A vigorous, vibrant free press is essential to the health of our democracy.'

It is an interesting choice to spotlight NPRs CEO John Lansing while trying to argue that NPR is not state-affiliated, given that Lansing spent his pre-NPR years as the CEO of the US Agency for Global Media (USAGM). USAGM is the US government narrative management umbrella that runs overt US state propaganda outlets like Radio Free Asia, Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty, and Voice of America.

In a 1977 article titled Worldwide Propaganda Network Built by the C.I.A., The New York Times explicitly names Radio Liberty, Radio Free Europe, and Radio Free Asia as part of the network constructed by the Central Intelligence Agency to circulate propaganda. As Fair.orgs Bryce Greene recently noted, USAGM received $810 million in US federal funding in 2022, which is more than twice the amount RT...

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) recently released its annual study of crashes on U.S. roads for 2021, and found that The total number of accidents rose by an astonishing 16%.

This was astonishing because: That was a year of COVID-19 lockdowns and travel restrictions, when police groups nationwide reported that the smaller number of drivers on Americas roads were acting more recklessly than normal. (Source.)

MarketWatch reports:

More Americans were killed by distracted drivers in 2021 than the year before. More Americans were killed by drunk drivers in 2021 than the year before. More drivers died with their seatbelts unfastened. More bicyclists were killed by drivers. More pedestrians theres theres just nothing but horrific news here.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) recently released its annual study of crashes on Americas roadways, and its a relentless parade of tragic and frustrating news.

It takes NHTSA more than a year to compile full statistics and check them for errors, so the latest report reflects car accidents in 2021, not 2022. That was a year of COVID-19 lockdowns and travel restrictions, when police groups nationwide reported that the smaller number of drivers on Americas roads were acting more recklessly than normal.

Open Letter Re: John Olivers Last Week Tonight Episode on Psychedelic Assisted Therapy "IndyWatch Feed Allcommunity"

From Psymposia: Last Week Tonights February 2023 coverage of psychedelic-assisted therapy promoted psychedelic industry talking points that overhype the science and minimize potential risks. The production team made this decision with full knowledge of the inaccuracy of that hype and the dangers it poses to the public. We know they knew about these issues, because we told them.

In October 2022, Psymposia was informed by a producer from Last Week Tonight that the show was working on a segment about psychedelic-assisted therapy that was originally scheduled for the end of that month. The producer expressed interest in learning more from Psymposia about safeguards that can be put in place when the treatment becomes more widely available. This inquiry suggested that the production team was open to challenging the dominant media narratives, which tend to overstate the potential benefits and ignore the serious risks associated with psychedelic medicine. This felt like an opportunity to correct some of the harmful hype on a credible platform. We are publishing this open letter to highlight why we raised concerns about the rollout of psychedelic medicine to Last Week Tonight.

. . . Considering Last Week Tonights generally solid track record of tackling issues like corporate greedmental healthcare; the marketing and overprescription of opioidsregulatory capture; and a slew of other predatory medical industry practices (12345), it is disappointing that the show abandoned much of its own prior analyses in favor of a segment that alig...

Australias Gas Shortage To Be Solved By Mining Sky News After Dark Crew "IndyWatch Feed Allcommunity"

The Albanese Government has come up with the novel solution of solving Australias gas shortage by selling the mining rights to niche news network Sky News After Dark

The gas reserves coming out of Paul Murrays show alone is enough to fuel the entire eastern seaboard for the next 20 years, said Minister for Climate Change and Energy Chris Bowen. Then if we tap old mate Andrew Bolt we are set.

If only we could find a way to harness the energy of them jumping to conclusions wed be a World leader in energy exporting.

When asked how they got the Sky News crew to agree to this proposal, Minister Bowen said: Well, theyre pro-gas and pro-mining, how could they say no?

Admittedly, their host Cory Bernardi did kick up a fuss but when it was pointed out that his show was the lowest rating of them all he was put back in his box.

Now, if youll excuse me, Im off to try and talk Alan Jones out of retirement to see if he can come back till at least the 20132 Olympics are over.

Reclaiming the Story of Free Black Potter Thomas W. Commeraw "IndyWatch Feed Allcommunity"

New-York Historical Societys Crafting Freedom: The Life and Legacy of Free Black Potter Thomas W. Commeraw contextualizes the life of Thomas Commeraw (c. 17711823), a freed Black man who became a prominent potter in New York City. Despite his success, Commeraws identity was misconstrued by scholars as interest in early American pottery rose at the turn of the 20th century. Commeraw was assumed to have been White and of French descent, due in part to the frequent misspelling of his name as Commerau. This misrepresentation was corrected in 2003 when a researcher discovered his name in the 1800 Federal Census, which listed him as Black. The exhibition includes a reproduction of this census, along with vessels, artworks, and ephemera that tell Commeraws personal stories, as well as the collective history of American pottery and the culture and politics of late 18th- and early 19th-century New York.

The exhibition features more than 20 utilitarian stoneware vessels by Commeraw alongside several by other potters from the time. Commeraws workshop produced thousands of objects, competing with the more than a dozen prominent potters working to provide for Manhattans population, which had exploded with European immigrants. His was the only Black-owned pottery business in New York City and he faced discrimination throughout his career. Many of his competitors were long-established, White craftspeople some descendants of the family in whose home he had been enslaved. Over time, the heavy, durable wares became collectible items, surviving due to Commeraws skill and bearing his prominently engraved signature and workshop location, an example of early branding. Fragments of his work have been found across the New Yo...
