Farmers Market Wayville "IndyWatch Feed Allaunews"

Adelaide families now have the opportunity buy fresh food directly from producers from all over SA at the Adelaide Showground Farmers Market. The 20,000 strong crowd that turned up for the farmers market which formed the centrepiece of the 'Go Organic Festival' in September in 2005 encouraged the Royal Agricultural and Horticultural Society (RAHS) to back the foundation of a permanent farmers market by a not-for-profit community organisation. The market opened on October 1st 2006 with a massive crowd of 10,000 shoppers and runs each Sunday (apart from the weeks of the Royal Show) from 9am-1pm.

In the tradition of farmers markets, it is a food market at which both food producers and consumers can get a fair price for food produced in SA and support regional and sustainable land use. The market guarantees that you buy direct from the producer and is known for its strict adherence to the ethics of farmers markets which now number in their thousands worldwide as families seek to avoid overstored food from major retailers who pass on meagre prices to farmers. In Australia, the farmers market movement is represented by the Australian Farmers Market Association and SA's peak body, the SA Farmers Market Association, will soon be launched.

The Adelaide Showground location is superb, with a major bike trail, the Glenelg tram line, a major rail line, numerous bus routes all converging to make it one of the most accessible sites in Adelaide. Parking is also easy and cheap.

120 producers offer their extraordinarily diverse products (everything from oysters to almonds and bread to boysenberries!). It is accessed from the car parks at the Leader Street (southern) end of the Showgrounds.

Becoming a member brings with it 10% discount on all purchases as well as a right to vote in the management of the market. Details and memberships are available at www.adelaidefarmersmarket.com.au.

The Food Forest is a foundation stallholder at the market and presents a wide range of foods, always including its signature specialty - organically certified pistachio nuts. We are there on alternate weeks (we run short courses on the other weekends).

Why I Build These End Tables

It's always nice to have a nearby tabletop surface to set a coffee cup on or a remote.  I've been loving the trend of more modern, chunky shapes, especially the extruded X shape.

These little end tables turned out so well and cost between $15-$20 to build! I love the rustic wood tones with the modern shape.

How to Build These End Tables

This is a free project plan.  Please take a second to watch the video tutorial on how to build them - there's a few tricks that make all the difference with these end table builds.

How the FBI Took an Innocent Woman's Savings "IndyWatch Feed Allcommunity"

The Federal Bureau of Investigation regularly seizes cash, cars and other valuables that belong to people who aren't accused of any crimes. Months later, many of those people receive a dense, boilerplate notice stating that the FBI plans to keep their property forever, without any explanation of whya blatantly unconstitutional practice. That's what happened to Linda Martin. When the FBI took her life savings from a safe-deposit box during a 2021 raid of US Private Vaults in Beverly Hills, Calif., she assumed her money would be returned. The company's alleged wrongdoing had nothing to do with her. But several months later, sheand hundreds of other innocent people who had their safe-deposit boxes takenreceived a notice stating that the government wanted to forfeit her money. The [notice] didn't accuse Ms. Martin of any crime or even lay out why the FBI was trying to take her property. The FBI sends out similarly inscrutable notices whenever it wants to forfeit property, in a clear violation of the Fifth Amendment. Federal agencies keep the proceeds from forfeited property. In the US Private Vaults case, the FBI admitted under oath that even before the raid occurred it had decided to pursue property forfeiture against everything worth over $5,000 in the renters' boxes. Using federal forfeiture records, the Institute for Justice calculated that from 2017 to 2021 Justice Department agencies gained more than $8 billion through forfeiture, with the FBI taking in more than $1.19 billion of that bounty.

U.S. Special Forces Want to Use Deepfakes for Psy-Ops "IndyWatch Feed Allcommunity"

U.S. Special Operations Command, responsible for some of the country's most secretive military endeavors, is gearing up to conduct internet propaganda and deception campaigns online using deepfake videos, according to federal contracting documents. SOCOM's next generation propaganda aspirations are outlined in a procurement document that lists capabilities it's seeking for the near future and soliciting pitches from outside parties that believe they're able to build them. Last with a new section: "Advanced technologies for use in Military Information Support Operations (MISO)," a Pentagon euphemism for its global propaganda and deception efforts. Perhaps as provocative as the mention of deepfakes is the section that follows, which notes SOCOM wishes to finely tune its offensive propaganda seemingly by spying on the intended audience through their internet-connected devices. Described as a "next generation capability to 'takeover' Internet of Things (loT) devices for collect [sic] data and information from local populaces to enable breakdown of what messaging might be popular and accepted through sifting of data once received," the document says that the ability to eavesdrop on propaganda targets "would enable MISO to craft and promote messages that may be more readily received by local populace." In 2017, WikiLeaks published pilfered CIA files that revealed a roughly similar capability to hijack into household devices.

'Project Fear' authors discussed when to 'deploy' new Covid variant "IndyWatch Feed Allcommunity"

[Former UK Health Secretary] Matt Hancock wanted to "deploy" a new Covid variant to "frighten the pants off" the public and ensure they complied with lockdown, leaked messages seen by The Telegraph have revealed. The Lockdown Files more than 100,000 WhatsApp messages sent between ministers, officials and others show how the Government used scare tactics to force compliance and push through lockdowns. Hancock ... appeared to suggest in one message that a new strain of Covid that had recently emerged would be helpful in preparing the ground for the looming lockdown, by scaring people into compliance. In a WhatsApp conversation on Dec 13 ... Damon Poole - one of Mr Hancock's media advisers - informed his boss that Tory MPs were "furious already about the prospect" of stricter Covid measures and suggested "we can roll pitch with the new strain". The comment suggested that they believed the strain could be helpful in preparing the ground for a future lockdown and tougher restrictions in the run-up to Christmas 2020. Mr Hancock then replied: "We frighten the pants off everyone with the new strain." Mr Poole agreed, saying: "Yep that's what will get proper behaviour [sic] change." Mr Hancock expressed his worry that talks over Brexit would dominate headlines and reduce the impact, and probed Mr Poole for his media advice. "When do we deploy the new variant," asked Mr Hancock. During the pandemic, the Government was accused of scaremongering but it was denied.

Project Fear's 'psychological warfare' must never be repeated "IndyWatch Feed Allcommunity"

Leaked messages seen by The Telegraph showed that in December 2020, Matt Hancock, the health secretary at the time, suggested that the Government "frighten the pants off everyone" to ensure strict Covid rules were adhered to. Sir Charles Walker, who was a leading member of the Covid Recovery Group of Conservative backbenchers, said that he was distressed by the leaked conversations. "What makes me so angry is the evils and the psychological warfare we deployed against young people and the population, all those behavioural psychologists," he [said]. "And there needs to be a reckoning. We need to understand and fully appreciate the damage that those sorts of campaigns did." Sir Charles lamented Parliament going "missing in action" as most MPs waved through dozens of Covid restrictions with little debate. He said: "Those voices that raised concerns were just othered. We were positioned as being anti-lockdown, Right-wing headbangers. And actually wanting to do the right thing isn't Right-wing. "We did terrible things to youngsters. We did terrible things to a large number of people. We need to make sure we never do those things again." Paul Dolan, a professor of behavioural science at the London School of Economics, blamed a mix of "mission creep" and "expertise creep" for a response dominated by groupthink. "It was wrong in every sense to make younger people scared of a virus that we knew very early on was of very limited risk to them," he [said].

Note: The unethical use of "nudge" tactics to inflate fear among the public prompted 40 psychologists in the UK to write a letter to the Parliaments Public Administration and Constitutional Affairs Committee, saying it was highly questionable whether a civilised society should knowingly increase the emotional discomfort of its citizens as a means of gaining their compliance." BOOK REVIEW: 'The Truth About Wuhan: How I Uncovered the Biggest Lie in History' "IndyWatch Feed Allcommunity"

The origin of SARS-CoV-2, the agent that causes the disease COVID-19, remains a mystery. But there are purportedly a few high up in government and scientific communities well aware of its genesis. In "The Truth About Wuhan: How I Uncovered the Biggest Lie in History," Andrew G. Huff, former EcoHealth Alliance vice president and senior scientist, details his coming forward "as a material witness and whistleblower related to SARS-CoV-2." "The Truth About Wuhan" [contains] an insider's view of working for EcoHealth Alliance; a damning critique of models and of function" research; the real COVID-19 timeline; China and U.S. culpability in the virus mayhem; and the multifarious, direct attacks used by the federal government to harass and discredit Mr. Huff. According to the author, "SARS-CoV-2 leaked from the [Wuhan Institute of Virology] laboratory as early as August 2019. The probable cases detected in Italy in 2019 make sense as Italy is one of the most popular tourist destinations of the Chinese. By mid-October 2019 the disease was likely already on every continent except Antarctica. The DoD, along with militaries globally, detected the disease in their countries' service members that attended the Military World Games in Wuhan. Trying to avoid global panic, governments began to implement response plans, which included the U.S. government's mobilization of the mRNA SARS-CoV-2 gene therapy."

Conflicting Reports Thicken Nord Stream Bombing Plot "IndyWatch Feed Allcommunity"

In the month since veteran journalist Seymour Hersh published his bombshell report alleging that President Joe Biden personally authorized a covert action to bomb the Nord Stream pipelines, we've seen a frenzy of speculation, detailed dissection of Hersh's specific assertions, and the emergence of competing narratives both supporting and denouncing the report. On March 7, the New York Times and the German newspaper Die Zeit both published stories that thicken the plot. The Times story was based on a narrative clearly being pushed by U.S. intelligence sources that "a pro-Ukrainian group carried out the attack." If the bombing of the Nord Stream pipelines was, as Hersh alleges, directed by the U.S., then the leaked suggestion that the culprits were a "pro-Ukrainian group" could indicate a nascent effort at floating a cover story. No one has claimed responsibility for this attack, but there are recent precedents for foreign actors taking credit for U.S. operations to conceal Washington's involvement. Military officials have lied or misled the public ... throughout U.S. history. There is no U.S. law or rule prohibiting the government from promoting a false alternative explanation to conceal an operation. "This is an established practice in military operations and intelligence activities where it is often known as 'cover and deception,'" [said former Government Secrecy Project director Steven Aftergood]. "Sometimes, in order to maintain the operational security of X, you have to declare that it is actually Y."

Habt ihr das auch gehrt? In Berlin werden stndig ... "IndyWatch Feed Allworld"

Habt ihr das auch gehrt? In Berlin werden stndig Leute erstochen! Mit Messern!!

Vllig klar, was da als nchstes kommt.

Ergebnis: Messerstecher heien Christian!

Money Quote:

so basically the pixel 7 pro, when you crop and save a screenshot, overwrites the image with the new version, but leaves the rest of the original file in its place

Boris Johnson said he didnt intentionally mislead anyone over Partygate only 19 responses you need "IndyWatch Feed Allcommunity"

Boris Johnson (sigh) has denied recklessly misleading parliament over all those Downing Street knees-ups he attended during lockdown.

The former PM admitted misleading the House of Commons but said his comments were in good faith and he would never have dreamed of leading MPs up the proverbial garden path. The very thought!

His written statement on Tuesday comes a day before he will appear before the Commons partygate inquiry.

If any one snapshot of his evidence sums up Johnsons defence, then it might be this.

And this bit tells you quite a lot of what you need to know as well.

And these 19 responses might not say it all, but they surely say a very large part of it.

Weekend Awakenings Consciously Creating Our Reality, Sat. March 25, 2023 "IndyWatch Feed Allcommunity"

Weekend Awakenings Invites you to a Free Public Call

Saturday, March 25, 2023 10 am Pacific / 12 pm Central and Canada / 1 pm Eastern 6 pm London, 7 pm Paris

Consciously Creating Our Reality Hosted by Gerry Gomez

If you are the artist and the dreamer, what would you create from you pallet of choices? Will it be dark and soothing, bright, and energetic or something whimsical and fun? The 5th dimension is that club of expanded consciousness where you vibrate at 500 and above, where you exist in a state of love, Joy, peace, and enlightenment.  This is when you realize that you are connected to the universe, the Source of Creation and all things.  Thats a huge pallet to draw from, so what will you create? What we are finding as we rise, and are less triggered into backsliding, is that the world becomes quite magical.  We experience many synchronicities, and information flows to you, and from you.  Spontaneous healings can occur and other seemingly miraculous events. When we stop fighting the current and go with the flow, we experience less turbulence in our day-to-day activities.  Here are some thoughts for smooth sailing during these historic turbulent days:
  • Its always darkest before the dawn.
  • Things generally seem worse than they are.
  • Media enjoys scaring the pants of people to keep everyone confused and unable to think.
  • The universe love balance and abhors a vacuum.
When things get stretched too far out of balance, as they have been since about 2001, the universe tends to snap things back to a more neutral position, and sometimes in unanticipated ways.  Is not the political arena becoming a comical farse? What we are seeing in the news (if you bot...

Wave Of Anti-Government Protests Are Setting The World On Fire "IndyWatch Feed Allcommunity"

This article was originally published by Tyler Durden at ZeroHedge.

There has been a surge in protests and strikes around the world, primarily focused on economic hardships, skyrocketing inflation, political turmoil, and geopolitical issues.

Recent protests have emerged in France, Greece, Great Britain, Israel, Venezuela, South Korea, Moldova, and Portugal. While some of these demonstrations have been peaceful, others have resulted in clashes with law enforcement.

One of the most troubling countries is France, where protests flared up last week after President Emmanuel Macron circumvented Parliament by passing unpopular pension reform that raises the retirement age from 62 to 64 years.

Clever Illustrations by Nash Weerasekera Highlight Ironies and Anxieties of Everyday Life "IndyWatch Feed Allcommunity"

An illustration of a figure painting a silver lining on a cloud

All images Nash Weerasekera, shared with permission

Influenced by what he describes as a healthy level of cynicism, Melbourne-based artist Nash Weerasekera taps into the subtle ironies of everyday life. His digital illustrations often center on seemingly paradoxical circumstances like a figure meditating on top of an overturned car or a young girl in a bathing suit seated on an ice floe. Largely focused on the nature of work, social interactions, and domestic responsibilities, his humorous scenes visualize endless to-do lists, running out of time, or a satirical take on a favorite phrase of optimists everywhere: every cloud has a silver lining.

Weerasekera shares that he thinks better on paper, so every piece begins with a physical sketch. His illustration practice stems from a background in street art in his home country of Sri Lanka that blossomed into acrylic painting when he moved to Australia. During pandemic lockdowns when it was a challenge to gather materials, he began to experiment with digital techniques and increasingly collaborates with commercial clients.

Weerasekera is currently illustrating a childrens book, and you can find more of his work on Instagram.

Seeking Freedom, Bitcoiners Should Consider Second Passports "IndyWatch Feed Allcommunity"

Those who hold bitcoin recognize the importance of taking control of their own freedom. A second passport might be the next step.

This is an opinion editorial by Jessica Hodlr, the COO of Plan B Passport.

The rise of Bitcoin and the demand for second passports may seem like two unrelated phenomena, however, there is one common link that ties them together: the desire for control.

Bitcoin and second passports have gained popularity in recent years due to a growing distrust in government and an emerging prepper mentality among many individuals. Both offer a way to take control back and to protect oneself from the uncertainties of the world.

Distrust In Government

Bitcoins decentralized nature means that it operates independently of any government, individual or financial institution. This has attracted so many people who are skeptical of the traditional financial system and the government control over money that weve all experienced and witnessed.

Like interest in Bitcoin, the demand for second passports has been driven by a lack of trust in governments. Many people fear political instability, economic downturns or other events that could threaten their safety and freedom. A second passport can offer an escape route to a country with more favorable conditions.

Prepper Mentality

If you havent heard of the prepper mentality, it is characterized by a focus on self-sufficiency and preparedness for emergencies. People who adopt this mindset often stockpile supplies and develop skills that they believe will be useful in a crisis. Bitcoin and second passports are both tools that can be used to prepare for the worst and to hedge against any risks.

Bitcoin's decentralized nature makes it resistant to government interference, which would be useful in a scenario where traditional financial systems have collapsed. In such a situation, bitcoin could serve as a means of exchange, even if fiat currencies are no longer functioning. Similarly, a second passport could offer a means of escape to a safer location in the event of a crisis. By having a second citizenship, individuals may be able to travel to more stable countries or access resources that are unavailable to those with only one passport.

Giving Control Back To The Individual

As stated above, perhaps the most significant link between Bitcoin and second passports is the desire for control. Both offer individuals greater control over their lives and their assets. Bitcoin allows users to control their money without relying on any bank or financial institution. A second passport gives in...

This Is Perhaps The Healthiest Berry You Dont Know About "IndyWatch Feed Allcommunity"

In todays video, were going to talk about acai and its amazing benefits! Acai is a berry thats native to Northern Brazil and has become popular all around the world. If youve never tried it before, youre in for a treat!

Not only is acai delicious, but it also has many health benefits. For example, its great for slowing down the aging process due to its high concentration of antioxidants. Acai is also rich in fiber, which can help with good bowel movements and prevent heart disease.

If youre looking for a way to boost your energy levels, acai is an excellent choice. Its high in carbs and nutrients, making it perfect for a pre-workout snack. Acai also has antioxidants that help to fight against degenerative diseases, reduce the risk of cancer, and even help with menstrual cycle issues.

To get the most out of acai, its best to buy the frozen pulp and add it to your morning juice. This way, you can avoid adding any extra calories. If you prefer an acai bowl, sweeten it with honey and add your favorite fruits. It goes well with everything from bananas to kiwis!

However, its important to keep in mind that acai is a calorie-dense food, so its not recommended for weight loss diets. If youre an athlete or looking to gain muscle mass, acai can be a great addition to your diet. But if youre diabetic, make sure to talk to your doctor or nutritionist before adding it to your diet.

In summary, acai is a delicious and healthy fruit that has many benefits for your body. Just be sure to get it from a reputable source and enjoy it in moderation!

Amlie Was Really a KGB Spy: Jean-Pierre Jeunet Re-Edits His Beloved Film, Amlie, into a New Comedic Short "IndyWatch Feed Allcommunity"

Now, more than twenty years after the release of Le fabuleux destin dAmlie Poulain, Jeunet has followed it up with La vritable histoire dAmlie Poulain, which you can watch (with optional French or English subtitles) just above.

After all this time, Jeunet says in a brief introduction, I felt the moment was right to tell you, at long last, the real story of Amlie Poulain. Tolstoys Hermit: Jay Schulkin "IndyWatch Feed Allcommunity"

Jay Schulkin was a laboratory neuroscientist, outstanding for his extraordinarily broad perspective that deeply engaged the human condition. His recent books, for example, include: Mind in Nature (2023); The Anatomy of Fear (2024); Suicide in the United States (2024); A perspective on Opiate Addiction (2024).

Jay also deeply engaged the concept of allostasisthe relatively recent idea that the brains key purpose is to predict what the body will need, and then to coordinate all physiology and behavior to get it. The concept helps explain how social and psychological stresses adversely affect mental and physical health. Jays contributions to this topic span several decades, including a book, Allostasis, Homeostasis, and the Costs of Physiological Adaptation (2004), and a significant review, Allostasis: A Brain-Centered, Predictive Mode of Physiological Regulation (2019).

Jay managed a wonderful career (and successful life) as an independent thinker on a shoestring. I hope that readers will find this brief eulogy inspiring.

Jay Shulkin, a neuroscientist and philosopher of prodigious curiosity and energy, has died at age 70 of hepatic cancer. According to his wife, April Oliver, he had a smile on his face and a tear in his eyecompletely at peace.

One colleague remarked that Jays research and thought were broad as the Pacific and deep as the Mariana Trench. This applied equally to his wisdom and love. Jay resembled Tolstoys wise hermit to whom a troubled king put three questions: When is the best time to do things? Who is the most important one? What is the right thing to do? Jay knew. When Elon Musk bought Twitter for $44 billion, a lot of people were worried that he might not be the steady hand the social media company needed.

But with staffing numbers slashed, outages increasing, anti-semitism at an all-time high and many previously banned extremists now indulging in systematic trolling, peoples minds have been put at ease.

Oh, wait

Still at least he isnt wasting his time closing off an important line of communication to make the joke of a 12-year-old.

Extreme weather conditions have become a topic of grave concern. Are floods, earthquakes, tornadoes and catastrophic storms the new normal?

Just for a moment, lets travel to a place where extreme weather has always been the norm: Lake Maracaibo in northwestern Venezuela.

According to NASAs Tropical Rainfall Measuring Missions lightning image sensor, it is the lightning capital of the world.

Chalk it up to the unique geography and climate conditions near the confluence of the lake and the Catatumbo River. At night, the moist warm air above the water collides with cool breezes rolling down from the Andes, creating an average of 297 thunderstorms a year.

Nu Metal Bassist Gets All Tangled up in Floppy Detuned Strings "IndyWatch Feed Allcommunity"

DUBUQUE, Iowa Bassist Lefty Garca of the nu metal band Soild became entangled in his dangerously detuned strings at a recent gig, according to horrified audience members.

I used to play in drop C and thought that sounded badass enough, said Lefty, still in recovery from string burns. But the rest of the band kept ridin me, saying, Lower! Tune lower! So I detuned the strings until they were barely hanging onthey were just flopping around wildly as I slapped. Suddenly, my wallet chain became wrapped up in the strings. I was still trying to play and untangle the chain at the same time when my entire body got caught up, too. Eventually, I fell over, struggling to free my arms and legs from the strings. Im definitely gonna have scars.

Audience member Jake Crenshaw described the chaotic spectacle on stage.

I just wanted to see Soild play, but instead I was traumatized by this terrifying scene, said Crenshaw as he practiced vape tricks in the parking lot. He was all fucked up in the strings, just flailing around and screaming. It honestly looked like something out of Hellraiser. Instead of helping, the rest of the band stopped playing and stood there laughing while Lefty suffered. A few of us in the crowd shouted for someone to help him. Eventually, a guitar tech came out with wire cutters and snipped him free. Needless to say, the show was canceled.

Ibanez recently released an extra-long scale bass which should help prevent such accidents, according to sales representative Ian Blaine.

The extreme length of our new bass neck allows for specialized, super heavy gauge strings which can produce the lowest of notes while remaining taut, said Blaine. Were targeting the nu metal scene in particular, as the bassists in that genre are constantly being pressured to tune down to unsafe levels. Of course, the new bass will take some getting used to, as the neck is nearly seven feet long and does require two people to playone person to slap or pick while the other frets. Understandably, some bands on a tight budget might not be able to hire a second bass player for this to be practical.

At press time, Garca had reportedly quit Soild, bought a nice, safe mandolin and joined a folk punk group.

Polyphonic Spree Shocks Bennigans Wait Staff by Asking For 25 Separate Checks in Harmony "IndyWatch Feed Allcommunity"

ELGIN, Ill. The Texas-based orchestral pop collective The Polyphonic Spree stunned the wait staff of Bennigans when they requested 25 separate checks to be split among the groups members in perfect harmony, sources who just wanted a break confirmed.

No heads up, no phone call, not even an email from their tour manager. They all poured out of a single tour bus like clowns from a tiny car. They scampered through the door all wearing robes and each one of them had a dead-eyed smile that still gives me chills, said waitress Jess Fogliano. The entire time I was serving them they kept getting up to do that jumpy hippie dance, then switch seats and feed each other by hand. Which would have been fine but when I dropped off the check they sang about needing separate checks to the tune of their song Light and Day. At least split it up by chorus, strings, and brass section or some shit. Like, you are all wearing the same fucking thing.

Unaware of the disturbance they had produced, members of the large band fondly remembered the meal.

Sharing a tour bus with one bathroom and twenty-five people can drain your inner self light. But then you stop for fast casual Irish pub food and youre centered again, said Piccolo player Austin Yerrick while counting out nickels and pennies to pay their check. Honestly the Shamrockin Sangria may be the greatest cocktail on the planet, is what I thought until I tried the OMalleys Mojito! Two cocktails and a basket of ribs were so reasonably priced I had money left over to buy some crystals from a sidewalk vendor. The only downside is the staff didnt let us join in on the birthday song for a six-year-old sitting at a table nearby who wouldnt stop crying anytime one of us tried to dance with him.

Food Sociologist Karen Bowie added insight into the relations between certain food and subcultures.

Its natural for what seems to be a church choir opting for food that hails from one of the most Catholic places on earth. We see it a lot with bands from California frequenting Mexican restaurants so they can complain about the burritos being better at home and how poor avocados are outside of Southern California, said Bowie. As far as being difficult, well I hope you never encounter a Ska band post-show at a Perkins, checkered shoes tracking scrambled eggs everywhere.

At press time, a local ice cream shop announced they would be closing permanently after each member of the band asked for a sample and bankrupted the business.

Is My Tea Ready or Is That Just My Tinnitus? "IndyWatch Feed Allcommunity"

Ive been going to punk and metal shows for the better part of thirty years and Ive seen a lot of things change over time. Everything from the sound to the fashion, to the hold on. Do you hear that? I think the tea is ready. Would you like a cup? Ill be right back. Two seconds.

Okay. Nevermind. I forgot to turn the hot water on. Where was I? Oh yeah. The scene. Its come a long way from where it was. I mean, when I was a kid going to shows you didnt know if you were gonna make it out aliv- there it goes again. Damn, that water got hot fast. Excuse me for a second.

Sorry. False alarm. Yknow, to be completely honest, my tinnitus has gotten so bad that I can never tell if my tea is ready or if the eternal ringing in my brain is amplifying. Its pretty miserable sometimes, I cant lie. I should have worn earplugs at all those shows but I didnt wanna look like a dweeb. I mean, it was the 90s! Nobody worried about that type of thing back then.

Thinking back, it wasnt worth it. This condition has really ruined my life. Never in a thousand years did I expect to end up on the no-fly list. I didnt mean to scare everyone at the airport! I really thought I heard the faint high-pitched sound of a bomb dropping out of the sky and I thought I could save hundreds of lives. And since only thirty-five people were trampled to death in the panic, Id say the numbers support my decision to speak out.

If I could instill any advice onto the younger generation of folks going to shows it would be this: WEAR SOME DAMN EARPLUGS. Not only could it save your life but it could save others and, oh, hold on. I think my tea is ready.

The Hard Times Guide to Saying Nothing When a Young Person Discovers a Band You Like "IndyWatch Feed Allcommunity"

It will happen to us all. We will see a post online or overhear a conversation in a vintage store. An excited young person will make a public declaration about a cool band they just discovered. One that weve already lived several lifetimes with, tracking their ups and downs with each release, perhaps even abandoning them forever, only to come back around again with the forgiveness that only time brings. It can be tempting to speak up and tell the Wednesdays of the world that the new band theyre falling in love with actually belonged to you first.

Thats why weve put together these step-by-step instructions on how to not do that. This is the Hard Times guide to saying nothing when a young person discovers a band you like.

Step 1: Dont Say Anything
This is always the hardest one to get right. How can you resist explaining to a Stranger Things fan that youve listened to Metallica for so long that you only like Master Of Puppets ironically now? Simple: Shut the fuck up. Just let people enjoy things and try to remember what that feels like. Besides, young people dont need any extra help thinking youre old.

Step 2: Be Quiet
Okay, youve made it through step one. The hard parts over. But how will everyone know youve got an original pressing of the latest TikTok trend on vinyl? This ones tricky, but it looks like the answer is still shutting the fuck up. It turns out that younger generations dont share in your object fetishization, so the gate youre keeping has already turned to dust. Just keep quiet and go back home to your precious possessions and be happy that your records will go on to make someone happy long after youre gone, or whenever you decide to sell them.

Step 3: Did You See Them Live? Doesnt Matter, Stop Talking
Quite possibly the highest form of clout to lord over a burgeoning music fan is having seen a band live in their heyday. But unfortunately this, too, is meaningless. Theres no magic that rubbed off on you because you got drunk in the same room as a cool band. Frank Stallone saw the Velvet Underground live and look what happened to him. Just write down whatever you were going to say and post it in a YouTube comment where it belongs.

Step 4: Keep Shutting The Fuck Up
Time to take everything youve learned and get out there and leave everybody alone. It might feel like your favorite music is a precious resource and that new fans enjoying it the wrong way will take away from how much it means to you. But for them to gain doesnt mean you have to lose. Fandom isnt a zero-sum game. Just be happy that your favorite bands are living on through new fans and the magical life experiences theyll be soundtracking.

How to Pack a Metal Pot for Bugging Out with the Family "IndyWatch Feed Allcommunity"

By the author of The Preppers Guide to Post-Disaster Communications and The Faithful Prepper

In the ideal situation, every member of your family would be strong enough to carry their own food if it came time to evacuate from an area. But the ideal doesnt always happen in the nitty-gritty of life, so what are you to do when it comes to the entire family needing to evacuate from an area on foot, and youre the one who is predominantly responsible for carrying the bulk of the gear?

While I dont think theres any doubt that MREs are the most convenient means of preparing a meal while out in the woods with as minimal fuss as possible (e.g., you can eat them almost immediately, they dont require fuel per se, and the amount of water you need to cook them with is about the same amount as the spit Ive seen tobacco chewers generate), I think that there are potentially times or arenas where you dont want to just load up on MREs.

Normally, when backpacking Ive always traditionally carried all of my food with me in a waterproof bag. That way, all the food stays in one place, and I can easily hang that bag up in a tree over the course of the night as my bear bag.

Ive been researching Mors Kochanski quite a bit of late, though, and one of the things that he constantly harped on was the need for a metal pot with a hanger. If you saw my posts on the Dakota fire hole (here and here), this was one of the main lessons I learned here. I have always taken a backpackers metal pot set with me when I go out to spend the night in the woods, but if youre trying to cook without some type of propane or alcohol backpackers stove say, youre trying to cook on a campfire just using a regular metal pot is a pain in the butt and takes forever.

So I got a metal pot with a hanger.

So I picked up a metal camping pot with a hanger that is large enough that it could be used to cook a meal for a family.

Theres zero way that you would ever want to pack something as large as this in your bag without filling it up with stuff as well, though, so I started to think about this serving as a small, backpackable family food bucket of sorts. Well call it the lunch pail.

Man Asks if Hes Wrong for Asking for a Morning off From His Baby on the Weekends "IndyWatch Feed Allcommunity"

Fact: kids are a handful and if you have them, your life is going to change in many ways.

And this guy who has a six-month-old baby at home wants to know if hes being an a**hole for the request he made of his wife

Take a look at what he had to say and let us know what you think in the comments.

AITA for asking for a morning off from my baby on the weekends?

My wife and I have a six month old baby girl. Shes mostly a SAHM, she works two half days a week and her sister watches the baby. I work full time and go to school one day a week.

Weve always had an arrangement where she takes care of the household duties (cooking, cleaning, and now baby care) while I happily support her monetarily. Honestly, we are both living our dream life and my wife does an absolutely spectacular job taking care of me and our little one.

On the weekends, we share baby duty. We usually make sure each of us gets our own alone time to do whatever we want. However, our girl has hit a bit of a sleep regression, waking up every two hourssince my wife breast feeds, shes always taken care of the baby full time overnight. Shes a light sleeper and unfortunately has insomnia, whereas I am a deep sleeper and wouldnt wake up for baby cries anyways .

Recently my wife has been asking me to wake up with the baby both days on the weekends so she can get an extra hour of sleep. Baby wakes up around 7am. I get the baby dressed and take over for that hour.

But sometimes, I want to be the one that gets to sleep in an extra hour. I brought this up to her and she says while shes happy to let me nap during the day, she really needs that hour bc she cant nap like I can....

Location: Saudi Arabia

On March 3rd, the Minister of Islamic Affairs of Saudi Arabia, Abdul Latif Al-Sheikh, published and shared a document containing regulations for the Islamic holy month of Ramadan that everyone in the Kingdom must follow. According to the announcement, the use of loudspeakers and the broadcast of prayers will be restricted during this period. Additionally, individuals will only be allowed to participate in i'tikaf, or spiritual seclusion, if they provide proper identification. Furthermore, the prayers will be required to be kept short and timely, and the mosques are also not allowed to collect donations for organizing iftar (meals to break the fast). It has also been stated that children will not be allowed to attend prayers in mosques, and iftar meals will not be permitted inside mosques. Many Muslims worldwide criticized the new rulings, claiming that under Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, the Saudi Arabian government further attempted to limit the influence of Islam in public life, and even compared it to Tunisia under the rule of Zine El Abidine Ben Ali and the former Soviet Union.

A New World Order is Emerging as the Davos Banking System Collapses "IndyWatch Feed Allcommunity"

by Brian Shilhavy
Editor, Health Impact News

With the collapse yesterday of the worlds first SIFI (systemically important financial institution too big to fail) bank, Credit Suisse, the reality that the financial system of western culture is now on the brink of collapse is starting to sink in with Americans.

While still not headline news in the American corporate media, financial headlines were notably pessimistic today, even with the stock market posting gains.

The more dire outlooks are still being published as opinion pieces, but it appears that more and more Americans are starting to face the reality that life as we have known it, is about to radically change.

Here is an article that was featured on the Home Page of Market Watch for most of the day today, while the markets were open. And while it is listed as an opinion piece, it sure reads like a news article to me.

Opinion: The end of the everything bubble has finally hit the banking system. Credit Suisse and SVB might be just the first of many shocks.

The Fed and other central banks face a difficult choice: Keep rates high to control inflation or loosen monetary policy to stabilize financial markets.

Excerpts:

Major financial market regime changes typically take place in stages. The crypto meltdown in 2022, for example, incurred about $2 trillion of losses. The technology meltdown followed, with losses of about $5 trillion, the U.K. government bond (gilt) crisis ($500 billion in losses), plus an ongoing emerging market debt crisis.

These problems have now reached the worlds financial system, with U.S., European and Japanese banks losing around $460 billion...

Conflicts of Interest: Pfizer's Secret Collusion With the NIH "IndyWatch Feed Allcommunity"

In late February 2023, Moderna agreed to pay $400 million to the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) for the patent it holds on Moderna's mRNA shot.1

The patent process is a part of the COVID mRNA shots that the media haven't really addressed and people in general don't know anything about probably because it's a total racket. Based on internal documents and correspondence, it appears the NIAID funded the creation of SARS-CoV-2. At the same time, it patented and receives royalty payments for the "vaccine" against said virus.

The National Institutes of Health (NIH) is supposed to be the primary government agency responsible for public health research, but by the looks of it, it appears instead to be in the business of creating public health threats in order to profit from them.

And the agency itself isn't the only one raking in profits. Many patents are held by individuals working at the NIH/NIAID. So, taxpayers fund research that may or may not work out, while Big Pharma, the NIH and individuals at the NIH profit from products that end up on the market. This is a clear conflict of interest that can hurt public health in any number of ways.

For starters, it incentivizes the NIH to support and promote potentially dangerous drugs, as we've clearly seen during the COVID pandemic. The NIH also has a significant stake in regulations that impact patents and vaccine mandates, and may use its influence to benefit itself rather than the public.

Conflicts of Interest Influence Public Health Policy

In the Full Measure video above, investigative journalist Sharyl Attkisson reports the findings of watchdog group Open The Books, which recently took a deep dive into "the issue of government scientists collecting royalty payments from pharmaceutical companies for discoveries made while working on your dime."

According to OpenTheBooks.com founder and CEO Adam Andrzejewski, the NIH distributes $32 billion of taxpayer funds as research grants each year to an estimated 56,000 different entities. "That basically buys you the entire American health care space," he says.

As the largest federal grant-maker, the NIH has a monopoly on what research gets done and what doesn't, as it decides which scientists and projects get that money. Scientists vying for grants also recognize that in order to get a piece of that pie, they have to play by the rules, and that means doing work that suppor...

War on the 'Village Yokel': An Ancient Gimmick of the Elites "IndyWatch Feed Allcommunity"

Dim-Witted Antivaxxers?

The science is in! I am using the word science loosely here but a study, published in Environmental Research and Public Health, and authored by Alice Cancer, Carola Salvi, Alessandro Antonietti, and Paola Iannello, has concluded that the vaccine skeptics are, you know, the rigid folks who are not particularly bright and not particularly endowed with the ability to solve problems.

I supposed that lack of problem-solving skills in Big Pharma skeptics is the reason why slowly the mainstream is gradually admitting to what the so called antivaxxers were saying three years ago.

Also, a thought on the mental flexibility on the part of the folks who embraced the experimental treatments. (It would probably be more appropriate to call it moral flexibility.)

The study is predictably titled: Not getting vaccinated? It Is a matter of problemsolving abilities and sociocognitive polarization. Dont you love the confident titles of scientific papers nowadays? The science is settled, folks. Anyway, here is a quote from Psypost:

A new study published in suggests that individuals who struggle with problem-solving and demonstrate absolutist thinking, political conservatism, and xenophobia are more likely to refuse to get vaccinated. These findings indicate that a focus on improving problem-solving skills may result in improvements in public health due to higher vaccination rates [emphasis mine.]

A quick a translation from Orwellian to English: In this sentence, the phrase problem-solving skills stands for obedient compliance, and the phrase improvements in public health stands for further grown of pharmaceutical profits and medical data sharing so that the overlords can build their AI faster. Moving on.

The research team hypothesized that problem-solving skills and socio-cognitive polarization are two constructs associated with vaccine acceptance. Problem-solving...

These Two Nutrients Are Important Parts of Healthy Eating "IndyWatch Feed Allcommunity"

Editors Note: This article is a reprint. It was originally published March 3, 2018.

Saturated fat and cholesterol have been wrongfully vilified as the culprits of heart disease for more than six decades. Meanwhile, research has repeatedly identified refined carbs, sugar and trans fats found in processed foods as the real enemy. The first scientific evidence linking trans fats to heart disease while exonerating saturated fats was published in 1957 by the late Fred Kummerow,1 biochemist and author of Cholesterol Is Not the Culprit: A Guide to Preventing Heart Disease.

Unfortunately, Kummerows science was overshadowed by Ancel Keys Seven Countries Study,2 which linked saturated fat intake with heart disease. The rest, as they say, is history. Later reanalysis revealed cherry-picked data was responsible for creating Keys link, but by then the saturated fat myth was already firmly entrenched.

Keys biased research launched the low-fat myth and reshaped the food industry for decades to come. As saturated fat and cholesterol were shunned, the food industry switched to using trans fats (found in margarine, vegetable shortening and partially hydrogenated vegetable oils) and sugar instead.

The Big Fat Surprise

Investigative journalist Nina Teicholz was one of the first major investigative journalists to break the story on the dangers of trans fats in a 2004 Gourmet magazine article.3 In the video above, Joe Rogan interviews Teicholz on her 2014 book, The Big Fat Surprise: Why Butter, Meat and Cheese Belong in a Healthy Diet, which grew out of that initial expos.

In it, not only does she dismantle the belief that saturated fat and cholesterol make you fat and cause disease, she also reveals that while the dangers of trans fats are now becoming widely recognized, the recommended replacement vegetable oils may actually be even more harmful.

She also delves into the politics and shady underbelly of nutritional science, revealing how the food industry has manipulated the scientific discussion and built a largely false foundation for the nutritional recommendations were given.

Corruption is not the sole problem, though. Teicholz notes there is a very strong tendency to fall in love with your own ideas and beliefs, and this is as true for scientists as it is for regular people. And, when you strongly believe something to be tr...

Climate denier says its suspicious that every single scientist says EXACT same thing "IndyWatch Feed Allcommunity"

A climate change conspiracy theorist has uncovered a set of strange patterns and repeated terminology in research papers, which he says is highly suspicious.

If you look back at the research papers from the 1980s and 90s, and then compare it to the papers in the 2000s and more recently, what youll notice is a very clear pattern, climate sceptic Johno Thompson said.

They are saying basically the same thing over and over and over again. Its a pattern. If youre not looking for it, you wont notice it. But for those of us adept at identifying patterns and understanding symbology this is pretty clear evidence of a well-coordinated conspiracy.

Thompson pointed to a report in the 1990s that warned of temperature increases and then compared it to a report from last year which used the same terminology. See there temperature increases. Youll see that term used again and again. Sometimes it will be temperature rises or increased temperatures, but its basically the same thing. Man-made is another term that weve seen used across all reports. This is clearly some sort of sophisticated code or messaging.

He said the repeated terminology was clear evidence that the reports were linked in some way. Is this a coincidence? I dont believe in coincidences. I think the fact that all of these so-called scientists are independently coming up with these same words, these same findings, its a message. It is very suspicious. And it stretches back for decades.

Art Problems: How Do I Get a Public Art Commission? "IndyWatch Feed Allcommunity"

Id love to be working on public and private art commissions, but I have no idea how to enter this world. Can you offer any advice? lost but hopeful

The simple answer to the question of how you can secure art commissions is to apply for them. Or meet a rich person or interior designer. Or meet an artist who might let you apprentice. Or screw the system altogether and take over the side of an abandoned building or bus stop.

The truth is there are so many ways to get commissions, yet so few shared resources about how to secure them, that many artists never venture into the field. Moreover, many artists assume that the work they make will not translate well in a different medium, thus cutting themselves off from opportunities that might otherwise be available to them.

To answer your question, I decided to get advice from the horses mouth the facilitators, commissioners, and artists making public art.

There are all kinds of opportunities out there, Sally Kraus, director of Member Services at CODAworx, told me, adding, I think its a growing industry. Kraus describes CODAworx as a little li...

What We Know About Irvo Otieno and the 10 People Charged in His Death "IndyWatch Feed Allcommunity"

From CNN: Three of the 10 people facing murder charges in the death last week of a 28-year-old Black man at a Virginia mental health facility were security guards at the hospital who watched and then participated in the fatal smothering, the prosecutor told CNN Friday.

The victims family wants answers as to how a promising musician having what they called a mental health crisis ended with him dying and why no one stood up for him and kept him from being killed.

The county prosecutor said seven law enforcement deputies, joined by the hospital workers, smothered him to death while restraining him.

Ive never seen anything like this, Commonwealths Attorney Ann Cabell Baskervill said, referring to unreleased video that shows the mans death.

Baskervill said the hospital security guards passively watched the alleged smothering but eventually joined in and piled on top of the victim along with the deputies . . .

What are attorneys saying?

Family attorneys say Otieno posed no threat to the deputies.

An Ancient Satellite Orbits Earth-The Black Knight "IndyWatch Feed Allcommunity"

Image result for Donald Keyhoe

In the mid 1950s predating the launch of the Russian Sputnik satellite another orbiting object was detected. Prior to 1957 there should have been no such artificial satellite. Yet, astronomers, eye witness accounts, and pilots reported that an unknown object seemed to be in an orbit that was difficult to track. Ufologist, Donald Keyhoe, was the first journalistic source to make mention of it. The former US Marine Aviator and assistant to Charles Lindbergh had built up a following having authored some of the most widely read articles in history, all about flying saucers. In 1954, Donald Keyhoes article was quoted by a newspaper as there being one and maybe two unidentified artificial satellites orbiting earth from unknown origins.

Eyes to the sky

In 1960 major defense contractors realized along with the US military that an unidentified orbital object was being observed, but that it must have an irregular orbit.  This alert was also happening during the same time as Frank Drakes radio astronomy Project Ozma, the first incarnation of SETI, a more ambitious and better funded search for extraterrestrial life with large arrays of radio telescopes probing the universe for intelligent signals from elsewhere. In the book entitled Aliens in Space by Donald Keyhoe, one of the original Mercury program astronauts made visual contact with an unidentified satellite that reportedly had mechanical arms during the two manned Gemini mission while in space. Was this the same mystery satellite? At that time in the 1960s there were no manmade orbital satellites with mechanical arms.

Amazing observation

In 1998 the US space shuttle Endeavour crew spotted an orbiting object appearing to be a black satellite of bizarre configuration that was photographed. Due to its dark coloration and the background of space detail in the photos was indistinct but lent credence the theory that a monitoring or surveillance satellite would be painted or coated with a dark pigment to make discovery difficult. With better photos now being taken, it appears that the shape or design defy what the typical geometry of a human built satellite would consist of.
