Farmers Market Wayville "IndyWatch Feed Allworld"

Adelaide families now have the opportunity buy fresh food directly from producers from all over SA at the Adelaide Showground Farmers Market. The 20,000 strong crowd that turned up for the farmers market which formed the centrepiece of the 'Go Organic Festival' in September in 2005 encouraged the Royal Agricultural and Horticultural Society (RAHS) to back the foundation of a permanent farmers market by a not-for-profit community organisation. The market opened on October 1st 2006 with a massive crowd of 10,000 shoppers and runs each Sunday (apart from the weeks of the Royal Show) from 9am-1pm.

In the tradition of farmers markets, it is a food market at which both food producers and consumers can get a fair price for food produced in SA and support regional and sustainable land use. The market guarantees that you buy direct from the producer and is known for its strict adherence to the ethics of farmers markets which now number in their thousands worldwide as families seek to avoid overstored food from major retailers who pass on meagre prices to farmers. In Australia, the farmers market movement is represented by the Australian Farmers Market Association and SA's peak body, the SA Farmers Market Association, will soon be launched.

The Adelaide Showground location is superb, with a major bike trail, the Glenelg tram line, a major rail line, numerous bus routes all converging to make it one of the most accessible sites in Adelaide. Parking is also easy and cheap.

120 producers offer their extraordinarily diverse products (everything from oysters to almonds and bread to boysenberries!). It is accessed from the car parks at the Leader Street (southern) end of the Showgrounds.

Becoming a member brings with it 10% discount on all purchases as well as a right to vote in the management of the market. Details and memberships are available at www.adelaidefarmersmarket.com.au.

The Food Forest is a foundation stallholder at the market and presents a wide range of foods, always including its signature specialty - organically certified pistachio nuts. We are there on alternate weeks (we run short courses on the other weekends).

Simple Vanity with Shelves and Light Up Mirror "IndyWatch Feed Allcommunity"

diy vanity plans

simple vanity plans

Why I Built This Vanity

With 3 children getting ready for school in the morning, 2 of them being teenage girls, I wanted to create a spot outside of the bathroom so they had another option for doing their hair and makeup. Since building the vanity, the girls have used it everyday and it's made a huge difference with their morning routine. My only regret is not building it sooner! I bought the mirror first and then built the hutch to fit. LINK TO MIRROR SHOWN HERE

Free Vanity Plans

The plans for this vanity follow.  This is a super simple build, using 1x12 boards and simple joints.

Was zur Hlle?

How the FBI Took an Innocent Woman's Savings "IndyWatch Feed Allworld"

The Federal Bureau of Investigation regularly seizes cash, cars and other valuables that belong to people who aren't accused of any crimes. Months later, many of those people receive a dense, boilerplate notice stating that the FBI plans to keep their property forever, without any explanation of whya blatantly unconstitutional practice. That's what happened to Linda Martin. When the FBI took her life savings from a safe-deposit box during a 2021 raid of US Private Vaults in Beverly Hills, Calif., she assumed her money would be returned. The company's alleged wrongdoing had nothing to do with her. But several months later, sheand hundreds of other innocent people who had their safe-deposit boxes takenreceived a notice stating that the government wanted to forfeit her money. The [notice] didn't accuse Ms. Martin of any crime or even lay out why the FBI was trying to take her property. The FBI sends out similarly inscrutable notices whenever it wants to forfeit property, in a clear violation of the Fifth Amendment. Federal agencies keep the proceeds from forfeited property. In the US Private Vaults case, the FBI admitted under oath that even before the raid occurred it had decided to pursue property forfeiture against everything worth over $5,000 in the renters' boxes. Using federal forfeiture records, the Institute for Justice calculated that from 2017 to 2021 Justice Department agencies gained more than $8 billion through forfeiture, with the FBI taking in more than $1.19 billion of that bounty.

U.S. Special Forces Want to Use Deepfakes for Psy-Ops "IndyWatch Feed Allworld"

U.S. Special Operations Command, responsible for some of the country's most secretive military endeavors, is gearing up to conduct internet propaganda and deception campaigns online using deepfake videos, according to federal contracting documents. SOCOM's next generation propaganda aspirations are outlined in a procurement document that lists capabilities it's seeking for the near future and soliciting pitches from outside parties that believe they're able to build them. Last with a new section: "Advanced technologies for use in Military Information Support Operations (MISO)," a Pentagon euphemism for its global propaganda and deception efforts. Perhaps as provocative as the mention of deepfakes is the section that follows, which notes SOCOM wishes to finely tune its offensive propaganda seemingly by spying on the intended audience through their internet-connected devices. Described as a "next generation capability to 'takeover' Internet of Things (loT) devices for collect [sic] data and information from local populaces to enable breakdown of what messaging might be popular and accepted through sifting of data once received," the document says that the ability to eavesdrop on propaganda targets "would enable MISO to craft and promote messages that may be more readily received by local populace." In 2017, WikiLeaks published pilfered CIA files that revealed a roughly similar capability to hijack into household devices.

'Project Fear' authors discussed when to 'deploy' new Covid variant "IndyWatch Feed Allworld"

[Former UK Health Secretary] Matt Hancock wanted to "deploy" a new Covid variant to "frighten the pants off" the public and ensure they complied with lockdown, leaked messages seen by The Telegraph have revealed. The Lockdown Files more than 100,000 WhatsApp messages sent between ministers, officials and others show how the Government used scare tactics to force compliance and push through lockdowns. Hancock ... appeared to suggest in one message that a new strain of Covid that had recently emerged would be helpful in preparing the ground for the looming lockdown, by scaring people into compliance. In a WhatsApp conversation on Dec 13 ... Damon Poole - one of Mr Hancock's media advisers - informed his boss that Tory MPs were "furious already about the prospect" of stricter Covid measures and suggested "we can roll pitch with the new strain". The comment suggested that they believed the strain could be helpful in preparing the ground for a future lockdown and tougher restrictions in the run-up to Christmas 2020. Mr Hancock then replied: "We frighten the pants off everyone with the new strain." Mr Poole agreed, saying: "Yep that's what will get proper behaviour [sic] change." Mr Hancock expressed his worry that talks over Brexit would dominate headlines and reduce the impact, and probed Mr Poole for his media advice. "When do we deploy the new variant," asked Mr Hancock. During the pandemic, the Government was accused of scaremongering but it was denied.

Project Fear's 'psychological warfare' must never be repeated "IndyWatch Feed Allworld"

Leaked messages seen by The Telegraph showed that in December 2020, Matt Hancock, the health secretary at the time, suggested that the Government "frighten the pants off everyone" to ensure strict Covid rules were adhered to. Sir Charles Walker, who was a leading member of the Covid Recovery Group of Conservative backbenchers, said that he was distressed by the leaked conversations. "What makes me so angry is the evils and the psychological warfare we deployed against young people and the population, all those behavioural psychologists," he [said]. "And there needs to be a reckoning. We need to understand and fully appreciate the damage that those sorts of campaigns did." Sir Charles lamented Parliament going "missing in action" as most MPs waved through dozens of Covid restrictions with little debate. He said: "Those voices that raised concerns were just othered. We were positioned as being anti-lockdown, Right-wing headbangers. And actually wanting to do the right thing isn't Right-wing. "We did terrible things to youngsters. We did terrible things to a large number of people. We need to make sure we never do those things again." Paul Dolan, a professor of behavioural science at the London School of Economics, blamed a mix of "mission creep" and "expertise creep" for a response dominated by groupthink. "It was wrong in every sense to make younger people scared of a virus that we knew very early on was of very limited risk to them," he [said].

Note: The unethical use of "nudge" tactics to inflate fear among the public prompted 40 psychologists in the UK to write a letter to the Parliaments Public Administration and Constitutional Affairs Committee, saying it was highly questionable whether a civilised society should knowingly increase the emotional discomfort of its citizens as a means of gaining their compliance." BOOK REVIEW: 'The Truth About Wuhan: How I Uncovered the Biggest Lie in History' "IndyWatch Feed Allworld"

The origin of SARS-CoV-2, the agent that causes the disease COVID-19, remains a mystery. But there are purportedly a few high up in government and scientific communities well aware of its genesis. In "The Truth About Wuhan: How I Uncovered the Biggest Lie in History," Andrew G. Huff, former EcoHealth Alliance vice president and senior scientist, details his coming forward "as a material witness and whistleblower related to SARS-CoV-2." "The Truth About Wuhan" [contains] an insider's view of working for EcoHealth Alliance; a damning critique of models and of function" research; the real COVID-19 timeline; China and U.S. culpability in the virus mayhem; and the multifarious, direct attacks used by the federal government to harass and discredit Mr. Huff. According to the author, "SARS-CoV-2 leaked from the [Wuhan Institute of Virology] laboratory as early as August 2019. The probable cases detected in Italy in 2019 make sense as Italy is one of the most popular tourist destinations of the Chinese. By mid-October 2019 the disease was likely already on every continent except Antarctica. The DoD, along with militaries globally, detected the disease in their countries' service members that attended the Military World Games in Wuhan. Trying to avoid global panic, governments began to implement response plans, which included the U.S. government's mobilization of the mRNA SARS-CoV-2 gene therapy."

Conflicting Reports Thicken Nord Stream Bombing Plot "IndyWatch Feed Allworld"

In the month since veteran journalist Seymour Hersh published his bombshell report alleging that President Joe Biden personally authorized a covert action to bomb the Nord Stream pipelines, we've seen a frenzy of speculation, detailed dissection of Hersh's specific assertions, and the emergence of competing narratives both supporting and denouncing the report. On March 7, the New York Times and the German newspaper Die Zeit both published stories that thicken the plot. The Times story was based on a narrative clearly being pushed by U.S. intelligence sources that "a pro-Ukrainian group carried out the attack." If the bombing of the Nord Stream pipelines was, as Hersh alleges, directed by the U.S., then the leaked suggestion that the culprits were a "pro-Ukrainian group" could indicate a nascent effort at floating a cover story. No one has claimed responsibility for this attack, but there are recent precedents for foreign actors taking credit for U.S. operations to conceal Washington's involvement. Military officials have lied or misled the public ... throughout U.S. history. There is no U.S. law or rule prohibiting the government from promoting a false alternative explanation to conceal an operation. "This is an established practice in military operations and intelligence activities where it is often known as 'cover and deception,'" [said former Government Secrecy Project director Steven Aftergood]. "Sometimes, in order to maintain the operational security of X, you have to declare that it is actually Y."

We hesitate to suggest anything that happens in PMQs is funny, partly because it so rarely happens, and partly because the bar for funny in the House of Commons tends to be set rather lower than everywhere else.

It Turns Out That Hundreds of Banks Are at Risk "IndyWatch Feed Allcommunity"

This article was originally published by Peter St. Onge at The Mises Institute.

Its the weekend, but our fresh Financial Crisis does not sleep. And a recent study says weve only seen the tip of the iceberg.

The Washington Post yesterday wrote: If banks were suddenly forced to liquidate their bond and loan portfolios, the losses would erase up to 91 percent of their combined capital cushion. In other words, we were already right up against the edge.

The Post cites two studies that total unrealized losses in the system are between $1.7 trillion and $2 trillion. Total capital buffer in the US banking system: $2.2 trillion. Thats about a 10 percent to 20 percent buffer. And now running into a market crisis where bank stocks have declined by about a third in the past few weeks, and are now at a P/E ratio of 7.35.

onge1

Meanwhile, the Wall Street Journal last week wrote about a brand new study from Stanford and Columbia finding 186 banks are in distresspossibly to the point of seeking a bailout. The study estimates that hundreds of banks are in worse shape than SVB: hundreds have larger losses than Silicon Valley Bank, and hundreds have lower capitalization buffers in case of distress than Silicon Valley Bank.

onge2

How did it Happen?

In short, while tech bros and loose bankers hog the headlines, what drives hundreds of banks to the edge is our crony banking system.

In this case, rapid Fed rate hikes crashed into a banking system that fractional reserve banking and the Feds Lender of Last Resort (LOLR) permanent bailout have driven to permanently drive as fast as possible, as close to the edge of the cliff as possible.

Together, the moral hazard has given a green light to those reckless tech bros, to those loose bankers who hand out millionsit turns out hundreds of billions. And it drives the entire banking industry to use opaque accounting tricks to hustle sleepy regulators and innocent taxpayers and dollar...

CFTC Commissioner On Innovation, Commodities And Misconceptions About Bitcoin Regulation "IndyWatch Feed Allcommunity"

CFTC Commissioner Summer Mersigner discusses the inevitability of innovation and clears up the agencys role in bitcoin regulation.

In light of recent events, many in the Bitcoin community are looking for regulatory clarity now more than ever. Questions such as who should regulate Bitcoin? and will the U.S. allow Bitcoin innovation or pursue a central bank digital currency (CBDC)? are at the top of the list.

To learn more about the regulatory landscape for Bitcoin-focused businesses, I sat down with Summer Mersinger, the commissioner for the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC), to get her thoughts on these issues and more. To further understand her perspective, we started with a brief background that explored her personal interest in Bitcoin. This is vital to the conversation because before commissioners can contribute meaningful policy to the Bitcoin space, Bitcoin must be understood.

Mersinger has been serving at the CFTC since 2022 after being appointed by President Biden and confirmed by the U.S. Senate. She received her bachelors degree from the University of Minnesota and later earned a law degree from the Columbus School of Law in Washington, DC. Since that time, she has spent over 20 years on Capitol Hill in a variety of positions. These range from working as an aide to South Dakota Senator John Thune, to advocating for financial technology organizations as a senior vice president at lobbying firm Smith-Free Group.

When she is off the clock, Mersinger spends time with her husband and four children; two teenage daughters and two elementary-aged sons. She describes herself as a huge animal lover, which stems from being raised on a farm. She said that she was always surrounded by animals, and its a habit she continues to this day.

Below are her thoughts regarding a variety of topics surrounding Bitcoin.

How did you first learn about Bitcoin and what specifically drew you to it?

Although I cannot recall the exact timing of when I first learned about Bitcoin, I can say that what drew me to it was the technology involved.

The CFTC, where I serve, regulates trading in derivatives products that are used for price discovery and risk management purposes. The CFTC is a technology-neutral regulator, which means, in practice, we do not view any one technology as better than any other technology. And admittedly, as regulators, we are sometimes skeptical of the new and unknow...

Paper co-authored by controversial Australian journalist earns expression of concern "IndyWatch Feed Allcommunity"

Maryanne Demasi

One more paper co-authored by Australian health journalist Maryanne Demasi has earned an expression of concern for image duplication.

The move comes seven years after the journal Biochimica et Biophysica Acta (BBA) was first made aware of potential problems with a figure in Demasis paper that showed Western blots. It marks the third time one of the former researchers scientific publications has been officially flagged as concerning or retracted.

Demasi, who earned her PhD from the University of Adelaide in 2004, has been in the news recently after she did a controversial interview with the lead author of a Cochrane review that cast doubt on face masks. She has drawn frequent rebuke over the past decade, beginning with a 2013 program in which her reporting questioned statins. She and her co-authors told us in 2018 that they believe her work as a journalist made her research a target of criticism.

Angelic Support and The Nature of Benevolent Spiritual Guidance "IndyWatch Feed Allcommunity"

From openhandweb.org: We're at a pivotal fulcrum in the shift: a clear divergence is underway, where a wave of souls are tuning into benevolence and gaining ever greater liberation; yet plenty head into a manipulated synthetic reality. The intervention is being dug up at the roots, but nevertheless, has morphed into other complexities and is still luring people into ever more sophisticated distortions. We have a veritable army of angelic support in the ether guiding us. We just need to be clear on exactly how best to tune in.

Beware the Two Different Streams of Consciousness Coming In

Many more people are waking up now as the infusion of galactic energies trigger the shift. But waking up at an intellectual level to what's going on is only the beginning. The ET Opposing Consciousness that has so derailed the planet and humanity has been dug up at the roots through the galactic alignment of 2012. But is now morphing into other shapes, sophistication and agendas - using Smart and AI to lure people into a more 'supported', 'comfortable' and 'convenient' reality. But convenient for whom?
A leopard does not change its spots overnight. Just because various players in the controlling cabal have been explosed, doesn't mean there isn't still a strong manipulating intention. The emperor has simply donned some new clothes - the eco friendly band wagon for example. The challenge is that we're being explosed through the field to two different streams of energy - one is aligned with our higher selves, the other pulling people into the controlling agendas. These two streams get enfolded into one as they come through the bodymind - no wonder so many are still being lured into excessive and dissonant consumption. Explore how to emerge from this intervention: 5D Shift Podcast
At the same time, there is a veritable 'army' of benevolence in the ether all around us, supporting the emergence of a new evolved humanity - the 5D Human. The key is to understand how that benevolence truly works, what to watch for as it comes in?

How Benevolent Guidance Works

This is a commentary to one of the oddest events in modern British politics which occurred in the House of Commons last week when MP Andrew Bridgen got up to give a speech on the Covid shot fallout and the entire chamber emptied - involving the unusual behaviour of veteran Foreign Office minister and long time Bill Gates familiar Andrew Mitchell. In only a few seconds there were only seven MPs left out of a potential 643: these included four government representatives, the deputy Speaker and just one person supporting Andrew Bridgen, Christopher Chope. No one was present from any of the opposition parties to hear Bridgens meticulously documented speech.

While it is hard determine exactly what Mitchell was up to he certainly provides an interesting thread to tug at, since as well as being Minister for International Development and Africa he is also a Polio Eradication Gender Champion, an honour bestowed by the Global Polio Eradication Initiative, a project of the WHO, Rotary International, the US CDC, UNICEF, Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, and GAVI. Of course, as we have seen these things can go wrong. Despite this interest in vaccination Mitchell did not stop to listen to what Andrew Bridgen had to say, and consider it on its merits.

The March of Intellect: Newspaper Cartoons Satirize the Belief in Technological Progress in 1820s England "IndyWatch Feed Allcommunity"

Before the Industrial Revolution, few had occasion to consider the impact of technology on their lives. A few decades in, however, certain segments of society thought about little else. That, in any case, is the impression given by the debate over what the English press of the early nineteenth century called the March of Intellect, a label for the apparently polarizing discourse that arose from not just the development of industrial technology but the dissemination of useful knowledge that followed in its wake. Was this sort of education an engine of progress, or simply of disorder?

The March of Intellects most vivid legacy consists of a series of newspaper cartoons published in the eighteen-twenties. They depict a world, as Hunter Dukes writes at the Public Domain Review, where extravagantly dressed ladies window-shop for pastel finery and forgo stairwells in favor of belt-driven slides while a child is moments away from being paved into the road by a carriage at full gallop; where men gorge themselves on pineapples and guzzle bottles at the Champagne Depot and postmen flit around with winged capes; where even convicts have it better: they embark for New South Wales on a gargoyle zeppelin, but still have panoramic views.

If theres a secret to drawing, its that even the most challenging subjects can be broken down into simplified shapes. Doing this makes them easier to tackle, and you can build up your drawing to achieve incredible detail. Illustrator and My Modern Met contributing writer Margherita Cole knows this well; her delightful drawings showcase the power of shapes and how they are vehicles for expression. She wields their power in work often centered around comics and animal portraits.

Cole has shared her drawing expertise through many step-by-step tutorials right here on My Modern Met and in a book titled Cartooning Made Easy: Circle, Triangle, Square. Now, shes doing it another way: in her class on My Modern Met Academy. Titled Drawing 101: Learn the Building Blocks of Sketching, she shares her favorite supplies, essential techniques, and how to draw three distinctly different subjects.

Drawing 101 will teach you how to see the inherent shapes in any subject, from a house plant to a ballet dancer. Then, youll get to see Cole work on each drawing and her decision-making along the way. This is one of the most valuable aspects of the classseeing how an artist thinks as they work.

Meticulous Flat Lays of Vintage Toys and Miniatures Celebrate the History of Play and Design "IndyWatch Feed Allcommunity"

A flat lay photo of miniature toy hands and stickers of hands

All images Jane Housham, shared with permission

Theres a feeling I remember which has to do with the seriousness of play, when you were completely absorbed in playing a game with your toys and fully believed in the world youd created, and it really mattered, Jane Housham says. I look longingly back at that imaginative space.

A writer, artist, and self-described accumulator, Housham continually returns to the engrossing joys of childhood through a vast collection of found objects. Stickers and plastic doll hands, a pantry of non-perishable goods, and a menagerie of animals on wheels are the catalysts for her flat lays. Precisely categorized by color, shape, or theme, each composition highlights the varied styles, functions, and contexts of similar items and becomes a useful and approachable entry into the history of design. If Ive acquired a new (to me) little object, that often nudges me to revisit the category it belongs toa new tiny seahorse or radio will subtly alter the pre-existing set, and the arrangement is always fresh in any case. Seahorses and radios are particular favourites of mine, she says.

Uncovering Radical Psychiatry and Institutional Psychotherapy in Postwar France: An Interview with Camille Robcis "IndyWatch Feed Allcommunity"

Camille Robcis is a Professor of History and French at Columbia University. She is the author of two books, The Law of Kinship: Anthropology, Psychoanalysis, and the Family in France, and her more recent book from 2021, Disalienation: Politics, Philosophy and Radical Psychiatry in Postwar France. Her areas of interest and expertise include European Intellectual History, with a focus on 19th and 20th Century France.

In her latest book, Disalienation, Dr. Robcis explores the highly experimental mid to late 20th Century French psychiatric efforts that, while sharing some similarities with other anti-psychiatric movements of that time, offer many novel insights into forms of psychiatry and psychotherapy that prioritize community and liberation.

Dr. Robcis offers a comprehensive account of the distinct approach to radical psychiatry known as Institutional Psychotherapy. In this interview, I had the opportunity to delve deeper into Dr. Robciss interest in this approach and gain insight into what sets Institutional Psychotherapy apart as a groundbreaking form of radical psychiatry within its broader European and French context.

The transcript below has been edited for length and clarity. Listen to the audio of the interview here.

Micah Ingle: Across both of your books, you have a strong interest in French politics, psychoanalysis, psychiatry, and how these things connect. Could you explain what drew you to these interests?

Camille Robcis: I was trained in Intellectual History. The goal of intellectual history is to think about the relationship between texts and their contexts. Usually, historians often read texts symptomatically, as a symptom of their contexts, and often literary critics or theorists dont address the context at all, sort of focused on the formal quality of the text.

I think Intellectual History is, in some ways, the best of both worlds because you try to read philosophical, theoretical, and psychoanalytic texts closely but also relate them to the various contexts in which they were produced. So, both of my books really take on this approach.

I have been interested in psychoanalysis for a long time. When I was an undergraduate at Brown, I worked with someone called Carolyn Dean, who wrote about [Jacques] Lacan. Thats where I discovered it. And then, in graduate school at Cornell, I worked with Dominick LaCapraboth were historians, and they had turned to psychoanalysis to think through historical questions. 15 things people are saying about Trumps mounting legal woes "IndyWatch Feed Allcommunity"

As Boris Johnson faces potentially career-ending questions at the hands of the Parliamentary Privileges Committee, Donald Trump looks set to face a similarly life-changing situation at some point in the near future although his appearance could end with a jail sentence.

The case centres around whether Trump asked his lawyer, Michael Cohen, to pay $280,000 to adult film star Stormy Daniels and Playboy model Karen McDougal to buy their silence about allegedly sleeping with them both, as he feared the rumours could harm his 2016 election chances.

The indictable issue arose when he allegedly falsely recorded his repayment to Cohen as being for legal services.

In an unhinged rant on his social media site, Truth Social, he claimed he would be getting arrested on Tuesday plus a lot of familiar Trumpy stuff.

Despite asking for his supporters to protest, there was no January 6th-style riot.

How to Prevent Damping Off Disease in Your Seedlings "IndyWatch Feed Allcommunity"

So youve decided to start your own seedlings this year. Youve chosen your varieties, set up your area, and planted. Youre seeing lovely green sprouts in the pots and are very excited, taking the best care of them you know how. Then one day, soon after sprout, your seedlings are lying on the potting medium. No obvious explanation, no warning. Just lying there dying. Chances are youre experiencing damping off disease.

So what exactly is damping off disease?

According to the University of Minnesota, its a disease of young seedlings thats actually pretty common and affects a wide variety of vegetables. Rhizoctonia, Fusarium, and Pythium are the most common pathogens. According to their webpage, symptoms are:

  • Seedlings fail to emerge from the soil.
  • Cotyledons (the first leaves produced by a seedling) and seedling stems are water-soaked, soft, mushy, and may be discolored gray to brown.
  • Seedling stems become water-soaked and thin, almost thread-like, where infected.
  • Young leaves wilt and turn green-gray to brown.
  • Roots are absent, stunted or have grayish-brown sunken spots.
  • Fluffy white cobweb-like growth on infected plant parts under high humidity.

As Ive noted in the introduction, Ive seen seedlings simply tip over and die. And theres no saving them. This disease is vicious and can kill off entire trays of seedlings.

Ron DeSantis Removes Bad Brains From Essential Hardcore Playlist "IndyWatch Feed Allcommunity"

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. Florida Governor Ron DeSantis announced last week that his state would seek to remove DC hardcore legends Bad Brains from the Essential Hardcore playlist on Spotify, multiple sources confirmed.

A lot of people might not know this about me, but Im a big fan of hardcore punk rock and roll, said DeSantis in an interview from his home in RumChata Springs, Florida. You look at my CDs youll find Third Eye Blind, Gin Blossoms, and Smash Mouth, Ive been in the scene for a long time. But putting Bad Brains on the Essential Hardcore playlist is nothing more than a woke revisionist history trying to make white people feel guilty. I mean, Bad Brains were nothing more than a reggae band that has no lasting legacy in the hardcore movement as far as I can tell.

Bad Brains frontman HR spoke about the move while on tour with his latest band Everlasting Vibrations of Universal Awareness in Movement and Righteousness.

Sounds like Mr. DeSantis was a little too inspired by our Banned in D.C. song, said HR. These men deal in negativity. Its their currency, whereas mine is only one of love and positivity. If they want to erase Bad Brains from the history book, thats their prerogative albeit disappointing. If were not careful, Florida youth will never be exposed to Fishbone on their ska playlists, Living Colour on their rock playlists, or the Wu-Tang Clan in general. What a shame.

Ibram X. Kendi is an author, professor, and activist, whose book How to be Antiracist is on DeSantis list of banned books in Florida schools.

DeSantis is part of a long legacy of politicians seeking to maintain a white supremacist interpretation of American slavery had no lasting effect on Black Americans, Civil Rights solved racism, and apparently the single most influential hardcore band of all time was nothing more than a footnote in the history of the movement. In my book, I talk about the idea that you can only really have one of two perspectives on race in America: racist or antiracist. With people like DeSantis I think we need to introduce a third option: super fucking racist.

At press time, the DeSantis administration offered an alternative list of artists to replace Bad Brains on the playlist, including Kid Rock, Disturbed, and a recently surfaced recording of Eric Claptons racist rant against immigrants from 1976.

Mark Mothersbaugh Busts Out Acoustic Keytar at Campfire Singalong "IndyWatch Feed Allcommunity"

BIG BEAR LAKE, Calif. Legendary Devo co-founder Mark Mothersbaugh delighted dozens of acquaintances around a campfire after busting out his acoustic keytar to kick off a singalong, charmed sources confirmed.

Well, it was the final night of the annual Mutato Muzika employee woodland retreat, we were all sitting around roasting potatoes, and I was feeling a bit wistful. So, luckily, I broke out my ol Alesis Acoust-Ex 300 so we could all have a big old-fashioned family singalong. Mostly deep cuts off Oh, No! Its Devo, starting with Time Out For Fun which I felt was relevant to the occasion, said Mothersbaugh, adjusting his famous eyeglass frames. Yup, I never take a camping trip without my trusty acousticOh, just make sure to be careful no one else mistakes it for a block of firewood.

Participants in the singalong were visibly enthralled, though some became unsettled at what they were witnessing.

Initially, I was having a blast. But then I began thinking more about the logistics of how an acoustic keytar is even physically possible. I started to comfort myself by saying it must work like an actual piano, said Mutato engineer Vivienne Holiday. But, then, how could it be making such electronic sounds? The damn thing had vocoder capabilities! Did Mark make it himself? Was NASA somehow involved? Im not totally unconvinced I didnt dream the whole thing at this point. After that retreat, I need a vacation.

Senior Park Ranger Ollie Trythall elaborated on how Devo fans often fare in deep wilderness situations.

Oh, you might be surprised, but Devotees tend to flourish out here in the great outdoors. You see, their yellow radiation suits are flame retardant, so if a forest fire flares up, they can waltz right through to safety, observed Trythall. Plus, whether it be a New Traditionalist pompadour or the classic energy dome, their headgear usually protects them from all manner of falling debris. From acorn to avalanche, it just bounces right off. On top of that, de-evolution theorizes humans are an unnatural species, responsible for the destruction of the planet, which makes the fans much more in tune with the forests so-called lower life forms. Your average Spud has a hell of a lot more respect for a patch of moss than it does a nuclear family.

After the singalong, Mothersbaugh reportedly donned his iconic Booji Boy mask, held a flashlight under it, and told horror stories about the record contracts they signed in the late 80s.

You Can Pry My Monster Energy Drink From My Cold, Extremely Shaky Hands "IndyWatch Feed Allcommunity"

Hey, you little non-neon-colored pissbaby. You want to take my beloved Pipeline Punch, huh? You think my Monster Energy consumption is so concerning? Well, good luck trying to take it from me because youll have to pry that sweet battery acid from my cold, cold hands that will not stop shaking for some reason.

I dare you to come and take my Monster Energy drink. Even if I handed it over willingly like a coward, the condensation on the can would send it spilling from your puny mortal hands to the cold, hard ground. You wouldnt want to let that happen. I also have the upper hand with my lightning-fast reflexes, so I could snatch my beverage right back from your weak, decaffeinated arms.

Its not like you have other options. What are you going to do, take my Ultra variety pack away while Im sleeping? Bold of you to assume Im capable of rest. While you dream about separating me from my beloved Monster, I stay awake to unleash the beast.

I dont have an energy drink problem. Im also fond of juices, java, and lemonade. Its just a coincidence that those also happen to be Monster-branded products. Ill even settle for a Red Bull if it means I can get my afternoon pick-me-up without you bringing me down.

Many have tried to stop me from indulging in my fun little drinks and all of their efforts have failed. My hands shake so much that the cops cant cuff me. My mind races so fast that my psychiatrist cant comprehend whats going on in there. My bladder always needs emptying so Im never in one spot long enough for anyone to track me.

The only way you will separate me from my Monster is over my dead body. Even then, good luck getting the can out of my still-twitching corpses grip.

Review: PUP Morbid Stuff "IndyWatch Feed Allcommunity"

Each week The Hard Times reviews the latest and greatest in punk rock. This week we took a look at PUPs 2019 album Morbid Stuff because we wait 2019?! Oh holy fuck!!! We are way, way far behind on our reviews.

Shit, how did this even happen? I mean, quarantine obviously didnt help, but weve been using that as an excuse for a while now so we should probably figure out how we ended up reviewing an album from four years ago as a new release.

And now that we think of it, have those guys done much lately? Four years is a long time, but if theyve been quiet since then we might be able to get away with this. Lets just check Wikipedia quickly. They have released three other records since then! Fuck, this is so fucked up. What was the band thinking? Stop being so prolific, take a breath, adopt a dog, just stop writing music for one goddamned minute so we can figure out what the fuck we need to do.

Forget it, lets just get something down real fast. PUPs Morbid Stuff sounds like shit, what did the album sound like. It was so long ago and we were on so much ketamine at the time, good stuff too. Never mind it sounds like early PUP or possibly later PUP but also with different than both of those. Wow, that last sentence is so vague it could be a pop-country song.

Alright, alright, lets bring this home. Morbid Stuff is about lots of really, really, really morbid stuff. And were like 30% sure that thats true. Also, it has a very fun and colorful album cover, with knives! Pretty punk, eh? Cant go wrong with knives. Hey real quick, remember when every hardcore band had brass knuckles in their logo? What a weird time.

Look, what do you want from us? We fucking dropped the ball on this one, okay? If youre a fan of other PUP albums then this is also one of them. Make up your own mind while we go figure out exactly where the hell all of the time went.

SCORE: Seriously? How the hell should we know?

Central Banks are out of Ammo with no Choice but to let their Currencies Burn "IndyWatch Feed Allcommunity"

And Just Like That, The Tight Money Era Is Over

by John Rubino

At the beginning of last week, everyone expected central banks to tighten until something breaks. By the end of the week it was clear that theyd already broken everything.

Two middling US banks imploded, European mega-bank Credit Suisse finally died a well-justified death, and whos next? speculation ran wild. And just like that, the era of tight money ended.

Now the worlds monetary authorities have broadened the definition of systemic risk to cover pretty much anything. FDIC insurance has been extended to every bank account of any size. Credit Suisse is being bought for pennies on the dollar by rival Swiss giant UBS. And according to Bloomberg,

The Federal Reserve and five other central banks announced coordinated action on Sunday to boost liquidity in U.S. dollar swap arrangements, the latest effort by policymakers to ease growing strains in the global financial system.

Central banks involved in the dollar swaps will increase the frequency of seven-day maturity operations from weekly to daily, the Fed said in a statement coordinated with the Bank of Canada, the Bank of England, the Bank of Japan, the European Central Bank, and the Swiss National Bank.

The Feds balance sheet a measure of how much currency it creates and dumps into the economy had been shrinking, which is to say the US money supply had been contracting. Now its soaring, up $300 billion in a matter of days.

In their latest analysis, Dowd and crew use data from the Bureau of Labor Statistcs (BLS) to reveal a shocking spike in both employee absence and lost worktime rates, which they believe is due to vaccines either from primary vaccine injuries, or because of weakened immune systems due to the jab, and not long covid caused by the virus itself.

Economic Impact of Obesity to Surpass $4 Trillion by 2035 "IndyWatch Feed Allcommunity"

In 1954, obesity was called a common physical abnormality.1 Today it's called an epidemic.2 Many of the complications related to obesity are health conditions that negatively impact quality of life and increase health costs. These include lung, liver and heart diseases, arthritis and gout.3

The 2023 report4 from the World Obesity Federation estimates that the economic impact of overweight and obesity will surpass $4.3 trillion annually by 2035. In the U.S., the CDC5 reports the prevalence of obesity in adults was 41.9% measured from 2017 to March 2020. This represented an increase from 30.5% from 1999 to 2000. The estimated annual medical costs were roughly $173 billion in 2019 dollars.

Using this estimate, medical costs for obese adults were $1,861 higher than those who had a healthy weight. In children and adolescents6 aged 2 to 19 years from 2017 to 2020, the prevalence of obesity was 19.7%, which in raw numbers was approximately 14.7 million adolescents and children. The prevalence ranged from 12.7% in 2- to 5-year-olds to as high as 22.2% in 12- to 19-year-olds.

According to data collected by the CDC, obesity affects some groups more than others7 and some areas of the country more than others.8 Kentucky and West Virginia have the highest percentage of the population who are obese in the country, while Washington, D.C., has the lowest.

2035 Obesity Economic Impact Estimated to Surpass $4 Trillion

The World Obesity Federation 2023 report9 predicts that more than half of the global population will be overweight or obese by 2035 and nearly 2 billion will be obese. The 2022 estimate10 was that 1 in 5 women and 1 in 7 men or roughly over 1 billion people will be obese by 2030. In other words, in just five years, from 2030 to 2035, they estimate the number of individuals who will be obese will nearly double.

According to the World Obesity Federation,11 1 in 7 people across the globe is living with obesity. They estimate this number will increase to 1 in 4 by 2035. The rising number of overweight and obese individual...

Twitter Files Reveal Government-led Censorship Network "IndyWatch Feed Allcommunity"

Over the past three months, a small group of independent journalists, including Michael Shellenberger and Matt Taibbi, have sifted through Elon Musk's Twitter Files, exposing the many ways in which social media platforms have censored Americans at the behest of the U.S. government, and spread fabricated propaganda intended to "debunk" truthful stories.

March 9, 2023, Shellenberger and Taibbi testified before Congress, explaining how "a highly organized network of U.S. government agencies and government contractors has been creating blacklists and pressuring social media companies to censor Americans."1 To say that their findings are shocking would be an understatement.

As it turns out, a long list of government agencies has special departments or teams whose duty it is to manage public censorship, in direct violation of the U.S. Constitution, which they swore an oath to uphold. In short, there's a secret "censorship-industrial complex" in the U.S., to use Shellenberger's term, and they are actively engaged in all-out information warfare against the American public.

Shellenberger and Taibbi are now calling on Congress to defund and dismantle this censorship-industrial complex in its entirety, and to do so immediately. We cannot afford to let this treasonous cancer to grow any further. If we do not put a permanent end to it now, we will lose this republic and all the freedoms we've enjoyed under it.

Shellenberger's Testimony to Congress

Shellenberger's testimony before Congress is 68 pages long, so I cannot review all the details here. You can download and/or read it on his Substack.2 Here's an excerpt from his opening remarks:

"The Twitter Files, state attorneys general lawsuits, and investigative reporters have revealed a large and growing network of government agencies, academic institutions, and nongovernmental organizations that are actively censoring American citizens, often without their knowledge, on a range of issues, including on the origins of COVID, COVID vaccines, emails relating to Hunter Biden's business dealings, climate change, renewable energy, fossil fuels, and many other issues

'If government officials are directing or facilitating such censorship,' notes George Washington University law professor Jonathan Turley, 'it raises serious First Amendment questions. It is axiomatic that the government cannot do indirectly what it is prohibited from doing directly.'

Moreover, we know that the U.S. gov...

An Extraordinary Change: Labor Data Reveals Shocking Drop In Workplace Attendance Following COVID-19 Vaccination Campaign "IndyWatch Feed Allcommunity"

by ZeroHedge News

Last we heard from former Blackrock portfolio manager Ed Dowd and his deep-dive partners at Phinance Technologies, the rate of Serious Adverse Events reported during Covid-19 vaccine trials closely tracked a spike in disabilities reported following the vaccines official rollout.

Via Phinance Technologies

Its not a stretch to conclude from this data that the vaccines are causing death, disabilities & injuries due to a degradation of individuals immune system, Dowd says. The rate of change is not explained by the long Covid trope. Ask yourself where is funding for such studies?

California Farmers: Weve Lost EVERYTHING $BILLIONS of Food Lost in Floods in State that Produces Half of Americas Agriculture "IndyWatch Feed Allcommunity"

by Brian Shilhavy
Editor, Health Impact News

Almost half of Americas agriculture is produced in the State of California, producing over 50 $BILLION annually in revenues.

Now, with recent historical and unprecedented flooding, many farmers in California are reporting that they have lost everything.

And it is not over yet, as the rains continue, and record amounts of snow in the Sierra Nevada mountains still need to melt, which will flow into farmlands that are already devastated in Californias Central Valley. See:

California snowmageddon: Now the second snowiest winter ever on record and still MUCH MORE TO COME!

The emphasis today is still on saving peoples lives as the rain and flooding continue, and nobody knows yet what the final damages will be to Americas richest farmlands and how that will impact food security in the United States, and the nations already fragile economy. Almost half of Californias agricultural products are exported to other countries.

Tulare County in Central California is the county that is suffering the most, and it is also the second largest county in the U.S. in terms of food production, producing over $8 BILLION annually, with sales of dairy products making up almost one fourth of those sales, followed by citrus and nuts. (Source.)

Kern County, just to the south of Tulare County, is the nations #1 county in agricultural production, and Fresno County, just to the north of Tulare County, is the nations 3rd largest producer of agriculture, and both of those counties have also seen devastating floods in the Central Valley of Californi...

NATIONWIDE CALL for VACCINE AUTOPSIES "IndyWatch Feed Allcommunity"

This article was originally published by SD Wells at Natural News under the title: NATIONWIDE CALL for VACCINE AUTOPSIES: Every Unexpected Heart Attack by a Covid-Vaccinated Young Person Should be Thoroughly Investigated by Autopsy for Spike Protein Causes

One surefire way to prove the Wuhan coronavirus (COVID-19) clot shots (vaccines)are responsible for millions of suspected unexplainable sudden deaths, especially among healthy and young people, would be to conduct autopsies on all of them, compile the data, and publish the results. Coroners and embalmers across the globe are testifying that spike proteins are visible in vital organs of the bodies they examine, including the heart and brain.

Contrary to what all the talking heads and so-called pandemic experts said about the COVID vaccines, that they remain at the site of injection, the spike proteins travel throughout the vascular system, clog it up, and can cause heart failure, strokes, and vital organ complications. This is why there are so many unexplained deaths of healthy, young people, including athletes and military members. This must be investigated thoroughly and the results must be protected from the censorship of the vaccine industrial complex and Big Pharma.

Spike proteins in the brain and vascular system of COVID jabbed victims now showing up in autopsies as MAIN CAUSE of strokes and heart attacks

America is the land of free speech and a free press. Though mass media, social media, and tech giants are suppressing these as much as possible, it is still legal to make podcasts and publish articles and blogs about the truth of the deadly clot shots. Now is the time for every American who has lost a loved one to sudden adult death syndrome, an unexpected heart attack, or stroke, to step up and demand an autopsy to search for spike proteins as the main cause.

Understand that NO medical doctor in this country will blame the COVID clot shots for death, for fear they will lose their medical license (the AMA, FDA, and CDC are all in on the scam to cover up vaccine damage and vaccine-induced deaths). This sudden death of healthy people is not an unexplainable phenomenon, and it will only get much worse as more and more people are getting booster shots for the lab-made Wuhan virus. Get ready for a tsunami of unexplainable sudden deaths that can be easily explained by...

Wasabi Wallet Releases Version 2.0.3, Adding Back Coin Control Amongst Other Updates "IndyWatch Feed Allcommunity"

Users will once again be able to selectively spend their UTXOs via the Wasabi Wallet interface.

Hungarian-based Wasabi bringing back Coin Control. The function allows optional insight and control of the wallets Smart Coin Selection Algorithm via Coin Control for sending.

Coin control, explained here by Nopara, inventor of Wasabi, has become an industry standard expectation for privacy-conscious Bitcoin users, but, according to the press release, its usage in Wasabi Wallet 1.0 demonstrated that it often caused more harm than good. With version 2.0.3, users can choose between the smart coin selection algorithm and optional coin control. Advanced users can hold down the Alt key to inspect and modify features.

According to Max Hillebrand, CEO at zkSNACKs and Wasabi Wallet contributor, The goal of Wasabi 2.0 has always been to remove complexity and friction from the default user experience. That's the only way we can gather a large user base and offer substantial privacy. However, we can make the default even easier if we have an optional place to put the complexity, where skilled users can fine-tune their wallets performance to their hearts desire.

In addition to the update, Wasabi Wallet 2.0.3 includes an upgrade to Tor 0.4.7.12, offering improved stability for MacOS M1 users and various bug fixes.

Hillebrand added, If we want privacy to become the default for Bitcoin transactions, we must do everything we can to reduce the fee costs falling on users for using privacy preserving technology.

Previously, Wasabi Wallet customers were confronted with the announcement it would start preventing certain unspent transaction outputs (UTXOs) from joining its CoinJoin rounds, sparking surprise and rebellion on Twitter as users wondered why the project would make a decision supposedly contrarian to the uncensorable ethos of Bitcoin. Despite these hiccups, this latest update continues to focus on privacy as a stated core tenant of Wasabis development.

In Florida, Showing Mental Health Struggles Could Get a Child Detained "IndyWatch Feed Allcommunity"

From The Washington Post: When a fourth-grader in Florida was frustrated about having to sit out his afternoon recess, he penciled a word on an outdoor bench: kill. A teacher asked him about it, and he said it was what he wanted God to do to him.

His mother, Marah Marino, guessed he was hurt and angry. Hes not a mature 10-year-old, she said.

But soon, a sheriffs deputy who was working in the school stepped in, using a controversial state law to order an involuntary psychiatric evaluation and confinement for up three days in a mental health facility. Marino, who rushed to the school after getting a call about the incident, was stunned, pleading with the officer and asking to be with her son.

The deputy drove away with the terrified boy, and Marino followed closely behind them in her car, watching her son stare out the back window, sobbing, his hand on the glass.

Every day in Florida, children and adolescents are involuntarily committed for psychiatric assessments under the Baker Act, a 1971 law. In fiscal year 2020-21, involuntary exams happened more than 38,000 times to children under 18 an average of more than 100 a day and a nearly 80 percent increase in the past decade, according to the most recent data. The law is so deeply enmeshed into the states culture that it is widely used as a verb, as in: The 6-year-old was Baker Acted.

UPDATE: Trump Wont Be Handcuffed IF Arrested Today "IndyWatch Feed Allcommunity"

According to mainstream media reports, former president Donald Trump will not be handcuffed if hes actually arrested today. Instead, he will likely remain in the custody of Secret Service agents, a source claims according to Bloomberg.

Because Trump is a member of the ruling class, and we know deep down, that they are all on the same team,  he will be receiving special treatment if hes charged over allegedly making hush-money payments to porn star Stormy Daniels, Bloomberg has reported on Monday.

Former federal prosecutor Temidayo Aganga-Williams explained to the outlet that security considerations in detaining a former head of state are different here than if he was a private citizen, and that he is less likely to be seen as a security threat than a previously unknown defendant.

Another Bloomberg source, who wished to remain anonymous, suggested that while Trump would be fingerprinted and have his mugshot taken, hes unlikely to be placed in a holding cell or subjected to a so-called perp walk, where he would be handcuffed and marched in front of cameras. Instead, Trump would likely remain in the custody of Secret Service agents assigned to his protection detail, the person claimed.-RT

The ruling class is doing this to divide the public and really infuriate those on the right who havent figured out the left vs. right paradigm lie and that all politicians are masters making all government slavery. Once the right is angry enough, and they generate a reaction, the masters can step in with their preplanned solution.

The Establishment Doesnt Fear Trump, And It Doesnt Fear Bernie. It Fears You.

This has become so obvious it is actually incredible more cant figure it out. Its all a dog and pony show to distract the slaves from those who are oppressing them.

Trump warned in a Truth Social post over the weekend that he would be possibly arrested on Tuesday by the corrupt and highly political Manhattan district attorneys office. He called on his supporters to protest and take our nation back.

Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg has neither confirmed nor denied reports of a possible arrest. However, it is known that his office has been investigating Trump for almost five years for allegedly directing his former lawyer Michael Coh...

Greens Call For A Ban On The Election Day Sausage Sizzle "IndyWatch Feed Allcommunity"

The Australian Greens have today called for the immediate banning of the traditional Election Day sausage sizzle, declaring that it is highly insensitive to vegetarians and that the phallic nature of the sausage is intimidating to female voters.

For too long, voters have been forced to endure children trying to foist a sausage on them as they line up to vote. The smell of burning dead animals is horrific, and then youre confronted with this giant phallic symbol! said Greens spokesperson Justine Chardonnay. Its too much. I just want to vote and aggressively push my Greens Party how-to-vote card onto others.

When we raised the issue of the Election Day sausage sizzle being a great way for schools and community groups to raise funds, Justine responded by saying: They could sell tofu, salad or mung beans! Its not all about meat, you know. A lot of my friends love mung beans.

A spokesperson for Premier Dominic Perrottet refused to be drawn into the debate without first checking with developers, whilst Opposition Leader Chris Minns asked us what Perrottet was doing and said hed consult the Unions and get back to us.

We didnt dare raise the issue with the Shooters, Fishers and Farmers Party, as theyre armed and crazy.

Nearly 20 Hindawi journals delisted from leading index amid concerns of papermill activity "IndyWatch Feed Allcommunity"

Nineteen journals from the open-access publisher Hindawi were removed from Clarivate Analytics Web of Science Monday when the indexer refreshed its Master Journal List.

The delistings follow a disclosure by Wiley, which bought Hindawi in 2021, that the company suspended publishing special issues for three months because of compromised articles. That lost the company $9 million in revenue.

Clarivate updates its Master Journal List of titles included in Web of Science on a monthly basis. It dropped more than 50 journals from its indexes in March, according to a blog post by Nandita Quaderi, editor in chief and vice president of Web of Science, for failing to meet 24 quality criteria such as adequate peer review, appropriate citations, and content thats relevant to the stated scope of the journal.

Delisting 50 journals at once is more than usual for Clarivate, and may be the beginning of a larger culling. Quaderi wrote that the company developed an AI tool to help us identify outlier characteristics that indicate that a journal may no longer meet our quality criteria. The tool flagged more than 500 journals at the beginning of this year, according to her blog post, and Web of Sciences editors continue to investigate them.

Removing a journal from Web of Science means Clarivate will no longer index its papers, count their citations, or give the title an impact factor, which can have negative effects for authors, as universities rely on such metrics to judge researchers work for tenure and promotion decisions. The company also suppresses journals from its yearly...
