Permaculture Design Certificate (PDC) with David Holmgren "IndyWatch Feed Allaunews"

<p><h3>Why study permaculture?</h3> <p><strong>Join us for internationally-recognised permaculture training that will help you design sustainable, abundant homes, businesses, professions and communities.</strong></p> <p>Whilst population growth and consumption levels are pushing our Planet towards a catastrophic environmental tipping point, permaculture design offers a way that we, as individuals and communities, can take control of our future and live sustainably.</p> <p>It is a design system which draws upon the great truths of traditional knowledge, modern scientific understandings and the ethics of a peaceful and democratic society. Developed in Australia in the late 70s by Bill Mollison and David Holmgren, it is now taught in over 150 countries. Over a million people have graduated from Design Courses and are using this tool to build resilience and diversity into their lives, their local communities & in the workplace.

David Suzuki dubs permaculture 'Australia's greatest intellectual export'.

Permaculture can be employed by anyone, whatever profession or skill, on any scale: from individual, household, urban or rural, to balconies, backyards & neighbourhoods, to farms, factories, businesses, schools and cities anywhere on the planet and in any climate. It offers a sustainable landscape, dignified human-scale living and self-reliant children who have the confidence to design a sustainable future for themselves.

Permaculture is based on three ethics: Care of the Earth, Care of Community and Acceptance of personal responsibility for consumption and population. Many practical design principles, technologies and strategies have evolved to make permaculture one of the most accessible and dynamic solutions to the issues we face in the 21st Century.

Full Moon in Virgo ~ Precision "IndyWatch Feed Allcommunity"

From ColleenMarieHealing: The Moon is reaching its point of crescendo during this Pisces season in its opposite sign, Virgo. These two couldnt be more different, but the one thing that truly brings them together is the concept of healing. When Pisces energy dominates, we tend to be blissed out on our connection with the cosmos 24/7. We feel the Oneness of the Universe and the ocean of unconditional love so deeply that we would forget to, well, do anything practical at all. Not setting boundaries, not paying attention to the details, just in a la-la land of love. If were feeling this way lately - a little distracted, reflective, and a little confused - thats right on time. It is Pisces season, after all. And dont worry - smack-dab in the middle of it comes our Full Moon in Virgo, bringing us right back down to earth. The Virgo side of this axis is all about precision. Virgo can conceive of perfection, of things being just-so, in a way no other sign can. Virgo, an earth sign ruled by Mercury, thrives on tangible, measurable, efficient outcomes. It can be a little cut-throat and critical, but thats also its superpower - because we all need a healthy dose of reality sometimes. Now what does all of this have to do with healing? True healing requires a both/and approach. Its not the aptly named toxic positivity and spiritual bypassing of Pisces. Nor is it the strict dietary and medicinal interventions of Virgo. In fact, it is neither, and both. Because we need to address the Soul AND the body, in order for our healing to be effective. While Pisces positivity can indeed be toxic, it also can be life-affirming, loving, and deeply spiritual for the Soul. And Virgos health directives can be critical, but our bodies do require routine and honest assessments of habits and health. One is only bypassing when it isnt acknowledging the other. And the beauty of astrology is that the Full Moon each month doesnt let us get away with that! We may also be experiencing some lucky breakthroughs at this time, with Jupiter, Venus, and Chiron togethe...

17 hilarious examples of good taste but awful execution to make your day better "IndyWatch Feed Allcommunity"

Its not enough just to have a good idea, youve also got to put that good idea into practice (or, ideally, get someone else to do it).

We say this because theres a rather fabulous corner of Reddit called good taste but awful execution which is full, as the name suggests, of very good intentions well, mostly good intentions which went hilariously, catastrophically wrong.

And these are 17 of the very best, beginning with a proper cracker.

2. Extremely good taste but definitely awful execution!

Exploring The Five Best U.S. Cities For Bitcoin Enthusiasts "IndyWatch Feed Allcommunity"

As Bitcoin adoption grows, some cities are embracing the technology as hubs for businesses, events and lifestyles tailored to Bitcoiners.

This is an opinion editorial by Jenna Hall, a content marketing specialist with residential real estate brokerage Redfin.

Bitcoin has taken the world by storm since its creation in 2009. In fact, about 46 million Americans own bitcoin. And as its popularity continues to grow, so does the desire for those adopting it to utilize it in their everyday lives.

As a result, several cities in the United States have emerged as hotspots for Bitcoin enthusiasts, entrepreneurs and investors. Take a look at five cities leading the way in Bitcoin adoption and innovation, and what makes them such attractive destinations for Bitcoiners.

Seattle, Washington

Washington State has a long history with Bitcoin and blockchain technology. In 2018, Wenatchee, a small town three hours east of Seattle, became an epicenter of bitcoin mining in the United States. Since then, cities in Washington like Seattle have seen a dramatic increase in both people and businesses interested in utilizing digital currencies.

Seattleites can buy and sell their digital assets at any of the 202 bitcoin ATMs in the city. Speaking of buying and selling, the state of Washington doesn't tax the purchase of bitcoin a unique advantage for Bitcoin enthusiasts living in the state.

Los Angeles, California

As a major center for technology and innovation, Los Angeles has a growing number of businesses and individuals experimenting with bitcoin and other digital currencies. Some individuals have even been able to successfully pay the rents for their apartments in Los Angeles using bitcoin.

The city has truly embraced the use of blockchain technology, with many boutiques, restaurants, toy stores, florists and other businesses accepting bitcoin as payment. In 2021, the iconic Staples Center was renamed Crypto.com arena, further cementing the relationship that bitcoin and other digital currencies have with the City of Los Angeles.

Miami, Florida

Miami mayor Francis Suarez has made it clear that hes an advocate of digital currencies and wants to make Miami the capital of crypto. In fact, in 2021, Mayor Suarez became the first American poli.........

If you dont listen to rap, youve heard the same questions over and over in response to that confession. One of the most common is But have you heard De La Soul? which in recent years was easier said than done, at least on streaming platforms. What kept De Las tunes out of rotation was a frustrating morass of outdated contracts and record label parsimony, writes Oliver Wang at NPR. One complication had to do with sampling, a standard hip hop practice conducted in such a far-reaching, freewheeling, and elaborate manner by De La Soul that the prospect of renegotiating each and every sonic snippet theyd cleared in the CD-and-tape era inspired untold corporate intransigence.

But as of this month, all this has finally been rectified. The groups most important recordings are now legally available on the internet. None of them is more important than their debut, 3 Feet High and Rising, originally released in 1989 and added to the Library of Congress National Recording Registry in 2010.

People have been sharing bad guys in history who werent bad guys 13 leading nominations "IndyWatch Feed Allcommunity"

A little while back we wrote about bad guys in stories who were actually 100% right.

that after jamespeech111 asked this over on Reddit.

Who is a bad guy in history who actually wasnt a bad guy?

And it prompted lots of interesting and occasionally eye-opening replies. Here are our favourites.

1.

Richard Jewell. Security guard at the Atlanta Olympic who was blamed for the bombing.
VancouverBram

Initially lauded as a hero and a brave man who ran towards the bomb to help
then the FBI and media turned on him and accused him of doing the bombing himself because;

He was actually just as fucking outlandishly brave and ran toward the bomb to help people.

They took his truck for evidence, he had to go into hiding made a villain by incompetent people For YEARS finally exonerated and dies shortly afterward.

2.

In the film Titanic the character Murdoch killed someone, took bribes and generally came across as a right shit.

He was a real life person who was actually a hero and saved many lives. His living relatives were so disgusted that the VP of Fox travelled to Dalbeattie to personally apologise and presented a 5000 donation to Dalbeattie High School to boost the schools William Murdoch Memorial Prize.

3.

That woman who spilled McDonalds coffee on her lap.
PresentationNice7043

Received 3rd degree burns in her pelvic area. She was hospitalized for 8 days and required a couple years of rehabilitation. The media jumped on the story making it a poster case for frivolous lawsuits.

4.

A dingo really ate her baby.
B3atrixK1ddo

This one is so awful. Her baby was brutally killed and EATEN. Imagine knowing that about your child. Then she was accused of murder. And finally the entire world made a joke out of it. Even Elaine on Seinfeld.

These poor people suffered through their lives so damn hard because people thought the death of their baby was FUNNY.

I cant even imagine their heartache.

There Isnt Just One Way to Prep "IndyWatch Feed Allcommunity"

Author of Be Ready for Anything and Bloom Where Youre Planted online course

A while back, when I was living in an apartment in North Carolina, I did a radio interview about prepping in the city. It was a live show, and we took some phone calls from listeners. One particular caller stood out in my mind. He was insistent that I was not prepped at all and couldnt possibly be, since I didnt live like him.

He told me about his acreage in Montana, Idaho, or one of those beautiful, spacious mountainous states. He said that he had a garden that was one acre in size, a generator he sustained with solar and wind power, two years worth of freeze-dried food, a cold mountain stream running through the land, and all manner of other expensive preparedness measures. He truly had an awe-inspiring set-up.

But he couldnt wrap his brain around the fact that there are many different ways to be prepared and many different situations for which there is not a one-size-fits-all answer. He wasnt an overly pleasant caller, but he did get my wheels turning a bit.

Actually, I thought of this fellow a few days ago when reading about the latest industrial accident that rendered an area at least temporarily unlivable. What happens to all that stuff when you suddenly cant be there anymore for reasons outside your control? You cant fight off an airborne threat the way you can potentially fend away an angry horde. You cant outlast an invading army that drops a bomb in your area. There are always reasons that you might have to live your idyllic setup, and Id argue that being able to survive without all the trappings is every bit as important as the trappings themselves.

But what this all boils down to is that there is not just one way to prep.

There are tons of variables.

We all have different budgets, different lifestyles, different homes, and different skills. Trying to say that theres only one way to prep is honestly ridiculous.

We all have variables:

We dont all have unlimited funds. We can say all we want about allocating our money carefully so we can afford to prep. Sure, skipping the trip to Disney or the luxury cruise can provide you with some extra cash for prepping. I think you should prioritize your emergency fund, your physical preps, and being debt-free. But we can preach that til the cows come home, and it doesnt change the fact that were living through an economic collapse and people are struggling just to buy this weeks groceries.

What do you want the world to know about what it is like being a teen today?

In todays society, being a teen is different compared to 10 years ago. Our generation today is pretty acceptable, but at times I tend to feel invisible. Sometimes I dont feel like I fit in with everyone else; I feel like an outsider. Us teenagers are at an age where we make mistakes, learn new things, and grow from all of it. Some people dont understand how at times you need to make a mistake in life in order to learn. Anytime you make a mistake, you are usually bashed for it, and it is tormented on you for some time. Either way being a teenager is not too bad, but it feels like you have expectations to reach in order to fit in or meet the standards. As a teenager, the best advice I can give any other person around my age is to never stress or worry. JUST BE YOU

Silvergate Solvency In Question As Crypto Banking Troubles Brew "IndyWatch Feed Allcommunity"

Silvergate clients flee as stock price plummets and regulatory questions mount across the industry. Options for crypto banking partners are dwindling.

The article below is an excerpt from a recent edition of Bitcoin Magazine PRO, Bitcoin Magazine's premium markets newsletter. To be among the first to receive these insights and other on-chain bitcoin market analysis straight to your inbox, subscribe now.

Trouble Brewing In Crypto-Land

Developments around crypto on- and off-ramps have been heating up, as Federal Reserve Member Bank Silvergate Capital watched its depositors flee and its stock price plummet. Along with Signature Bank, Silvergate is the other key U.S. bank that works closely with the crypto sector.

The reason for the extreme concentration of banking interests that are willing to deal in the crypto sector is the general lack of regulation around know-your-customer and anti-money laundering (KYC/AML) policy that exists in the industry for offshore entities, as well as the issues with the broader industry being rife with unregistered security offerings and plenty of fraud.

Of course, we believe there is a clear distinction between bitcoin and the broad term colloquially referred to as crypto, but the lines remain blurred for many regulators and government agencies.

Thus, there have historically been very few entities in the regulated U.S. banking system that have been willing to work with crypto firms to access established USD on- and off-ramps, which presents a unique challenge to companies who are in the business of moving money and/or processing payments and transactions.

In regards to Silvergate, we have been monitoring the situation closely since November after the collapse of FTX as it became apparent that Silvergate played a role in serving FTX and Alameda by giving them access to USD rails.

As we wrote on November 17, (emphasis added):

Who else is at the center of many institutions in the market? Silvergate Bank is one of those. Since the beginning of November, their stock is down nearly 56%. Silvergate Bank is at the nexus of banking services for the entire industry, servicing 1,677 digital asset customers with $9.8 billion in digital asset deposits. FTX accounted for less than 10% of deposits and the CEO has tried to reassure markets that their current loan book has faced zero losses or liquidations so far. Leveraged loans...

An autistic student in England was suspended from school and received death threats after allegedly desecrating a Quran. The incident began when the student lost a wager with friends and was told to purchase a Quran, which he brought to school and gave to another student who recited a passage. It was also revealed that an unrelated boy knocked the Quran off the students hands, causing it to fall on the floor. Afterward, the autistic student picked up the Quran and placed it in his bag. Rumors quickly spread that the Quran was thrown, spat on, and burned, but an independent Muslim counselor refuted these claims. Four students were suspended, and a meeting was held to discuss the incident and soothe the Muslim community. Bank Runs Quietly Continue to Increase Where Depositors Cannot Withdraw Their Funds "IndyWatch Feed Allcommunity"

by Brian Shilhavy, While we have not seen a total collapse of the worldwide financial system yet, bank runs that began in 2022 with the collapse of FTX and the $billions that were lost when depositors were not able to withdraw their funds, continue to happen here in 2023, although they do not get headline news coverage. Last week, Pam Martens, writing for Wallstreet on Paradereported that bank runs were happening at Silvergate Bank, a U.S. FDIC insured bank.
Silvergate, a Federally Insured Bank, Just Blew Up from Ties to Crypto The one thing a depositor never wants to hear from a bank that is holding his or her life savings is that it has doubts about its ability to continue as a going concern. Unfortunately, those very words appeared in a filing made yesterday by Silvergate Capital with the Securities and Exchange Commission which pretty much guarantees that the ongoing run on deposits at Silvergate will continue with an added sense of urgency. Silvergate Capital is the owner of the federally-insured and taxpayer-backstopped bank, Silvergate Bank, which decided several years back that it would be a cool idea to become the go-to depository bank for crypto companies. One of those outfits was Sam Bankman-Frieds now collapsed house of fraud. Accounts at Silvergate Bank included Bankman-Frieds crypto exchange, FTX; his hedge fund, Alameda Research, which prosecutors say looted his FTX crypto exchange customers; and North Dimension, a fake company promoting itself as an online seller of mobile phones, when it was actually laundering money for Sam Bankman-Frieds crypto enterprises, according to federal prosecutors. Once the word got out about Silvergates ties to FTX and Bankman-Fried, a bank run ensued. (...

A Case for Quails "IndyWatch Feed Allcommunity"

Aloha!
Once upon a time, when lockdown started on this island (around March 26th 2020), I had my heart set on getting a good flock of egg layers (and possibly meat birds too.) My mission was to find the best tasting eggs and I read lots of good things about quails. I also wanted Indian Runner ducks, but decided to take the quail route because I was less familiar with them and I wanted to see if I could get them on the island.

At that time, it was tricky and the only person who was willing...

In the Attorney Generals office of the U.S. Virgin Islands lawsuit against JPMorgan Chase, the largest bank in the U.S., which is being accused of knowingly funding Jeffrey Epsteins pedophile sex operation, CEO Jamie Dimon is being deposed to testify under oath in the case, although his lawyers are trying to prevent him from testifying.

Wall Street on Parade reported today:

The Attorney Generals office of the U.S. Virgin Islands (USVI) has filed a First Amended Complaint against JPMorgan Chase that has less redactions than an earlier version.

The complaint makes devastating and detailed charges. It charges that the bank sat on a pile of evidence that Jeffrey Epstein was running a child sex trafficking ring as it continued to keep him as a client; accept his lucrative referrals of wealthy clients; and provided him with large sums of cash and wire transfers to pay off victims one of whom was a 14-year old sex slave.

Attorneys for the bank are now resisting allowing Chairman and CEO Jamie Dimon from being deposed under oath in the matter as to what he knew and when he knew it.

JPMorgan Chase has a history of employing some of the most sophisticated sleuths in the country, including people with prior employment at the CIA, FBI and Secret Service. To believe that JPMorgan Chase did not know what Epstein was all about by 2011 is to believe in the tooth fairy.

There are now two books and an award-winning series in the Miami Herald that remove any doubt that the U.S. Department of Justice was corrupted in its initial handling of the Epstein case. The nagging question today is why is the U.S. Virgin Islands bringing these new charges against JPMorgan Chase instead of the U.S. Departm...

Whats Driving the Sudden Increase of Bells Palsy? "IndyWatch Feed Allcommunity"

Bells palsy, a neurological disorder that causes paralysis or weakness of facial muscles, typically affects about 40,000 people in the U.S. annually.1 But since the COVID-19 pandemic, Bells palsy diagnoses have been skyrocketing, with close to 50 million more people affected worldwide than before COVID.2

While its clear this condition is on the rise, whats driving the increase remains a mystery, as does effective treatment for the millions affected.

Incidence of Bells Palsy on the Rise

Using data collected from 41 health care organizations around the world, researchers with Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine in Ohio identified 348,088 patients diagnosed with COVID-19, with or without a Bells palsy diagnosis within eight weeks of the COVID-19 diagnosis.3 They also matched 63,551 patients with COVID-19 who didnt get the jab with people who did get the jab but had no history of COVID-19.

An analysis of the data revealed Bells palsy diagnoses increased 8.6% among those who had COVID-19, compared to before the pandemic started. The incidence of Bells palsy also rose 6.8% among those who received a COVID-19 shot, although its unclear how vaccinated was defined in this study.4

While the exact underlying cause of Bell's palsy is unclear, and it can affect people of any age, its most common in those aged 15 to 45. People who are pregnant or have preeclampsia, obesity, high blood pressure, diabetes or upper respiratory ailments may be at increased risk.5 According to the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke, triggers of Bells palsy may include:

  • An existing (dormant) viral infection
  • Impaired immunity from stress, sleep deprivation, physical trauma, minor illness or autoimmune syndromes
  • Infection of a facial nerve and resulting inflammation
  • Damage to the myelin sheath, a fatty covering on nerve fibers

Is Molecular Mimicry Involved?

In terms of COVID-19, however, the researchers explained, The mechanism of paralysis is thought to be viral, ischemic and/or immune mediated. The hypothetical mechanism of COVID-19 associated with BP [Bells palsy] is thought to be molecular mimicry attributable to a neuroimmunologic process between microbial and nerve antigens.6

Molecular mimicry has also been suggested as the reason why mRNA COVID-19 injections are causing a range of autoimmune conditions....

How the Government Uses Fear to Control "IndyWatch Feed Allcommunity"

From Dr. Joseph Mercola

Since COVID-19 first entered the scene, exchange of ideas has basically been outlawed. By sharing my views and those from various experts throughout the pandemic on COVID treatments and the experimental COVID jabs, I became a main target of the White House, the political establishment and the global cabal.

Propaganda and pervasive censorship have been deployed to seize control over every part of your life, including your health, finances and food supply. The major media are key players and have been instrumental in creating and fueling fear.

I am republishing this article in its original form so that you can see how the progression unfolded.

Originally published: September 19, 2020

August 28, 2020, the Children's Health Defense, led by Robert F. Kennedy Jr., launched a European branch of the organization. In a press conference1 announcing the new branch, Kennedy discussed how governments are using fear to control and manipulate the population.

Acting as quasi-government agencies, public health organizations such as the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the World Health Organization are pushing vaccines using the same fear tactics, while simultaneously removing the regulatory oversight that used to ensure vaccines are properly safety-tested.

Corruption in the political system, however, has destroyed the trust these agencies need to get people to willingly take these fast-tracked vaccines, and this despite the fact that the media keep regurgitating the prescribed propaganda. Kennedy also highlights how people like Dr. Anthony Fauci and Bill Gates are helping to promote this global vaccination agenda.

As a result of all this corruption, there's no independent, unbiased buffer between greedy corporations and the world's most vulnerable populations our children. This is a global problem, Kennedy says, and the press is facilitating it by helping to create so much fear in the peoples' minds that they will obey whatever the health agencies say, no mat...

Natural Immunity Is as Protective as COVID Jab "IndyWatch Feed Allcommunity"

For over two years, I and many others have argued that natural immunity acquired from COVID-19 infection is likely to be far more protective than the COVID jab. Our arguments, despite being based on published research,1 were widely dismissed as dangerous misinformation and a right-wing conspiracy theory.

But now, even NBC News is reporting2 on research showing that natural immunity is "at least as high, if not higher" than that provided by two mRNA injections, and "provides strong, lasting protection against the most severe outcomes of the illness."

Sustained Protection Following Natural Infection

The systematic review and meta-analysis3 in question, published in The Lancet February 16, 2023, included retrospective and prospective cohort studies and test-negative case-control studies that estimated the reduction in COVID-19 risk among those with previous infection, compared to those without previous infection.

Sixty-five studies from 19 countries published prior to September 30, 2022, were included. People with immunity from both infection and the COVID jab were excluded. As reported by the authors:

"Our meta-analyses showed that protection from past infection and any symptomatic disease was high for ancestral, alpha, beta, and delta variants, but was substantially lower for the omicron BA.1 variant.

Pooled effectiveness against re-infection by the omicron BA.1 variant was 453% and 440% against omicron BA.1 symptomatic disease. Mean pooled effectiveness was greater than 78% against severe disease (hospitalization and death) for all variants, including omicron BA.1.

Protection from re-infection from ancestral, alpha, and delta variants declined over time but remained at 786% (498936) at 40 weeks. Protection against re-infection by the omicron BA.1 variant declined more rapidly and was estimated at 361% (244513) at 40 weeks.

On the other hand, protection against severe disease remained high for all variants, with 902% (697975) for ancestral, alpha, and delta variants, and 889% (847909) for omicron BA.1 at 40 weeks."

So, to reiterate in summary, protection against reinfection among those with previous infection was "very high" and remained high after 10 months. Protection was "substantial...

The True Lesson of Mask Mandates Goes Far Beyond the Fact That They Didnt Work "IndyWatch Feed Allcommunity"

This article was originally published by Jon Militimore at The Foundation for Economic Education.

Weve learned a lot about mask effectiveness. But have we learned anything about means and ends?

Writing in the New York Times on Tuesday, columnist Bret Stephens highlighted new research from an Oxford University epidemiologist who found that masksand mask mandatesdid nothing to slow the spread of Covid-19 or protect people from the virus.

The most rigorous and comprehensive analysis of scientific studies conducted on the efficacy of masks for reducing the spread of respiratory illnesses including Covid-19 was published late last month. Its conclusions, said Tom Jefferson, the Oxford epidemiologist who is its lead author, were unambiguous.

There is just no evidence that they masks make any difference, he told the journalist Maryanne Demasi. Full stop.

But, wait, hold on. What about N-95 masks, as opposed to lower-quality surgical or cloth masks?

Makes no difference none of it, said Jefferson.

What about the studies that initially persuaded policymakers to impose mask mandates?

They were convinced by nonrandomized studies, flawed observational studies.

The op-ed has gathered a great deal of attention, especially from opponents of mask mandates who for years have argued masking did not offer the protection against the virus that mask proponents claimed.

I must point out, however, this isnt the first time the Grey Lady has taken aim at masking or mask mandates. In June 2022 I highlighted an article written by Pulitzer Prize-winning writer David Leonhardt that explored the ineffectiveness of mask mandates.

In U.S. cities where mask use has been more common, Covid has spread...

Clitoria ternatea flower petal extract inhibits adipogenesis and lipid accumulation in 3T3-L1 preadipocytes. "IndyWatch Feed Allcommunity"

PMID:  Molecules. 2019 May 17 ;24(10). Epub 2019 May 17. PMID: 31108834 Abstract Title:  Flower Petal Extract Inhibits Adipogenesis and Lipid Accumulation in 3T3-L1 Preadipocytes by Downregulating Adipogenic Gene Expression. Abstract:  (commonly known as blue pea) flower petal extract (CTE) is used as a natural colorant in a variety of foods and beverages. The objective of study was to determine the inhibitory effect of CTE on adipogenesis in 3T3-L1 preadipocytes. The phytochemical profiles of CTE were analyzed by liquid chromatography and tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS). Anti-adipogenesis effect of CTE was measured by using Oil Red O staining, intracellular triglyceride assay, quantitative real-time PCR and western blot analysis in 3T3-L1 adipocytes. Cell cycle studies were performed by flow cytometry. Lipolysis experiments were performed using a colorimetric assay kit. In early stages, CTE demonstrated anti-adipogenic effects through inhibition of proliferation and cell cycle retardation by suppressing expression of phospho-Akt and phospho-ERK1/2 signaling pathway. The results also showed that CTE inhibited the late stage of differentiation through diminishing expression of adipogenic transcription factors including PPARand C/EBP. The inhibitory action was subsequently attenuated in downregulation of fatty acid synthase and acetyl-CoA carboxylase, causing the reduction of TG accumulation. In addition, CTE also enhanced catecholamine-induced lipolysis in adipocytes. These results suggest that CTE effectively attenuates adipogenesis by controlling cell cycle progression and downregulating adipogenic gene expression.

FTX Debtors Sue Grayscale Investments And Its Executives "IndyWatch Feed Allcommunity"

Grayscales CEO as well as owners Digital Currency Group and Barry Silbert allegedly violated trust agreements, according to the lawsuit.

Alameda Research Ltd., the hedge fund belonging to disgraced ex-billionaire Sam Bankman-Fried, is suing Grayscale Investments, LLC, its CEO, Michael Sonnenshein, and its owners, Digital Currency Group and Barry Silbert as a debtor affiliate of FTX.

According to a press release announcing the lawsuit, FTX Debtors are seeking injunctive relief to unlock $9 billion or more in value for shareholders of the Grayscale Bitcoin and Ethereum Trusts (the "Trusts") and realize over a quarter billion dollars in asset value for the FTX Debtors' customers and creditors.

The release describes how Grayscale has extracted more than $1.3 billion in management fees while violating trust agreements. In addition, the complaint alleges that Grayscale has for years hidden behind contrived excuses to prevent shareholders from redeeming their shares, with the firm's actions having resulted in shares trading at 50% discount to Net Asset Value.

If Grayscale reduced its fees and stopped improperly preventing redemptions, the lawsuit alleges, the FTX Debtors' shares would be worth at least $550 million, approximately 90% more than the current value of the FTX Debtors' shares today.

Grayscale has faced mounting pressure to make structural changes to the trust, including Valkyrie Investments seeking to take the reins of the trust. Grayscale CEO Michael Sonnenshein also stated in a letter to investors that should the Grayscale Bitcoin Trust fail to convert into an exchange-traded fund (ETF), potential moves could include a tender offer of 20% of the $10.7 billion trust.

As for FTX, which went bankrupt in November 2022, the quest to reacquire funds that could potentially rectify creditors goes on.

"We will continue to use every tool we can to maximize recoveries for FTX customers and creditors, stated John J. Ray III, CEO and Chief Restructuring Officer of the FTX Debtors. Our goal is to unlock value that we believe is currently being suppressed by Grayscale's self-dealing and improper redemption ban. FTX customers and creditors will benefit from additional recoveries, along with other Grayscale Trust investors that are being harmed by Grayscale's actions.

Why Are Ketamine Ads Following Me Around the Internet? "IndyWatch Feed Allcommunity"

From The New York Times: A few months ago I started noticing that I couldnt open Instagram or TikTok without getting an ad for ketamine. I previously knew ketamine only as an illegal drug that could cause dissociation, taken by acquaintances in the dank basements of my misspent youth, or as the sedative given to my older daughter when her broken arm needed to be reset in the hospital.

These ads promised incredible, groundbreaking mental health outcomes through ketamine tablets offered via telemedicine, with the vast majority of patients purportedly finding relief from their depression and anxiety. Some experts have cautioned that ketamine, which is a Schedule III controlled substance, is not ready for general use, citing a lack of long-term data, potential for troubling side effects and possibility for abuse, as one researcher noted.

I didnt hear about any of these concerns on TikTok. I heard only about the miraculous benefits of ketamine. Few of the social posts served to me disclosed the fact that promoting ketamine tablets in this way was an off-label use of the medication.

Ketamine wasnt the only mental health treatment I would be offered on social media. I was also frequently getting ads that tried to convince me that I had undiagnosed A.D.H.D., listing symptoms like fidgeting (which I do constantly and always have) as a behavioral red flag. While fidgeting could be a symptom of A.D.H.D., it could also be a symptom of restless leg syndrome or a common response to stress, boredom and anxiety that doesnt require treatment. Im certainly not equipped to tell after just seeing a few Instagram reels.

Other posts warned that overthinking and overanalyzing could be other signs of A.D.H.D. (Or they could just be signs of being an opinion journalist.)

The bombardment only got worse when I decided to take a brief quiz offered by one of the ketamine purveyors to see if I was an appropriate candidate for this treatment. I answered these questions honestly: I wasnt pregnant. I havent ever been suicidal or diagnosed with a primary psychotic disorder. I do have a history of clinical depression and anxiety, though I havent had a significant episode since 2012. These days I do fee...

Image result for marilyn monroe death

For decades the truth behind Marilyn Monroes mysterious death has been debated and researched. Theories have run the gamut from the Kennedys considering JFKs and RFKs unholy association with the sex symbol actress as being too controversial and useful for their political opponents as character assassination in the upcoming election. Others say that Marilyns sex life angered mob boss Sam Giacomo, who knew his Hollywood girl friend had been messing around with the Kennedys, had something to do with her murder.  With Marilyns behavior becoming more and more troubled with the narcotics and drinking she was succumbing too even her very movie studios came under suspicion as an insurance claim for the loss of profits after her death would pay off better than Marilyn unable to meet her contractual obligations and the movie moguls losing future rights to pending picture deals.

Then there was the controversial history of the LA Coroners office when it came to the handling of the untimely deaths of several young film starlets over the years mysteriously dead under questionable circumstances. Marilyn Monroe revolved within a constellation of fans, lovers, and potentially poisoned contractual commitments that may well have been her undoing. Taiwan Warns China Could Carry Out A Sudden Entry Into Country "IndyWatch Feed Allcommunity"

China could carry out a sudden entry into the country of Taiwan, Taipeis defense minister has said. This warning comes as tensions continue to elevate between China and the United States over the sovereignty of Taiwan.

Taiwan should be on the lookout for the Chinese militarys possible actions in areas adjacent to the self-governing island during 2023, its Defense Minister Chiu Kuo-cheng told other members of the ruling class on Monday. During a Q&A session in parliament, Chiu claimed that the Chinese Peoples Liberation Army (PLA) may find a certain pretext this year to make a sudden entry into a zone contiguous to Taiwan and get close to what it considers its territorial waters, according to a report by RT.

The official alleged that Beijing is making such preparations, for its sudden entry and that China would use force if they really have to. According to the minister, an average of ten Chinese military aircraft and vessels make forays into areas near Taiwan on an almost-daily basis, with some of them crossing the median line of the Taiwan Strait, considered to be an unofficial buffer between Beijing and Taipei.

Chiu noted that Taiwan has made preparations to fire the first shot should PLA entities, including drones or balloons, enter its territorial space.

When a reporter asked Chinese foreign ministry spokesperson Mao Ning to comment on the remarks, she reportedly replied by saying that the island is part of China and has no defense minister. The diplomat also stressed that Beijing will take firm measures to defend its sovereignty and territorial integrity.

War Developments: China Deploys Troops Near Taiwan

These comments came just days after the United States State Department gave the green light to the sale of $619 million worth of weapons and ammunition to Taipei. The package includes F-16 fighter jets as well as various types of missiles.

The rhetoric over Taiwan between the U.S. and China is going to all new levels, as the war in Ukraine rages on.

Russell Brand on Media "IndyWatch Feed Allcommunity"

MediaThanks to The Defender from Children's Health Defense for this article on Russell Brand's insight. It seems media has already formed into silos, and that's a big part of the problem we face. No one wants to peek at the other silos. No one believes that the grain over there is as good as the grain in OUR silo. In fact, we think it's rotten. I'd rather see FEWER media channels, but ones that allow independent thought. The pie has been sliced with a razorblade. In the morning, I listen to the POTUS channel on Sirius XM. Mostly for Michael Smerconish, whose theme song is "Stuck in the Middle with You." He allows callers from all walks of life and political POVs, He covers stories from the center out in a radius. It's 2023 and we are more segmented than ever. Do you remember the old CNN show called "CROSSFIRE?" It was fantastic. A Liberal and a Conservative taking on topics. Tucker Carlson was one of the hosts! Is more media the answer?

We Need to Create Our Own Media Channels if We Want the Truth, Russell Brand Says

Mainstream media would have us believe COVID-19 is the only possible explanation for an increase in fatal heart attacks among young people during the pandemic but that explanation didnt sit well with comedian and political commentator Russell Brand.

Brand mocked CBS News and the experts it interviewed about a study that showed the number of heart attack deaths during the first two years of the pandemic was 30% higher than predicted for ages 25 to 44.

The CBS report never mentioned the numerous variables that may have contributed to the increase, Brand said.

Remember they Want What we Have

The west has gradually begun the task of self-defeating occupation by uncivilized cultures allowed through the lies of migrant humanitarian relocation. Through wars in Syria and other Middle East regions of war, the UN and other non-governmental agencies, who stand to gain funding from a plethora of donors who for political reasons are happy to allow millions of illegal immigrants to trespass across our borders. From embedded terrorists, drug smugglers, human traffickers, fake family members, and criminals seeking asylum from the law of their lands, America has become a breeding ground for a silent takeover by a foreign occupation.Once again we've been lied to about the demographical make up of the migrants being supposedly women and children. Wrong! they are recruitment aged males! Why would they lie to us?

Its already happened in Great Britain

Great Britain has been overwhelmed by Muslim occupation that has now transformed their Judeo Christian values and form of government to an inflated caricature of President Trump in London when our president landed there for a visit. Thanks to the opposition allowed by a Muslim Mayor with terrorist ties. This disrespect only displays the ideological indifference that is taking precedent over the resident population of British citizens. One might recall how recent armies of Muslim migrants crossed the English Channel and almost immediately the British law enforcement was covering up cases of brutal rape and disappearances of young British women!

Project Fear: When to Release A New COVID Variant "IndyWatch Feed Allcommunity"

In case you havent noticed, the mainstream media has taken a break from constantly panicking the public over some cold symptoms. As many of us have known from the beginning, COVID-19 was nothing more than a propagandized fear campaign designed to get the masses to be so afraid of a cold that theyd willingly bow to the ruling class which is actively trying to exert total control over humanity.

Now, we have Telegram messages from Matt Hancock that show this was the plan all along. Former British Health Secretary Matt Hancock is continuing to face criticism since the leak of WhatsApp messages shared between him and other ministers, and officials at the height of the COVID scamdemic. The messages, which were leaked by the Daily Telegraph, now show that Hancock wanted to announce a new virus variant to frighten the pants off, everyone.

In 2020, Hancock and his team of tyrants were discussing the looming realization that then Prime Minister Boris Johnsons planned five-day Christmas amnesty from COVID curbs would have likely had to be scrapped, in order to keep the public compliant and in a state of fear.  According to a report published by the Mirror early Sunday (March 5), Johnson promised families they could see each other during the festive period, but the plan was scrapped on December 18. Knowing the rulers would face backlash, they discussed releasing or just telling the public that a new variant was on the loose.

Amid fears of a massive backlash from people, Hancock and his team were thinking about how to divert the anger. Damon Poole, his media adviser, said in the WhatsApp chat, Rather than doing too much forward signaling, we can roll pitch with the new strain.

Hancock replied, We frighten the pants off everyone with the new strain. He added, But the complication with that Brexit is taking the top line. This was an apparent reference regarding the medias coverage of the United Kingdoms (UK) exiting the European Union (EU). WION News

Critical Psychiatry Textbook, Chapter 5: Psychiatric Diagnoses Are Not Reliable (Part Two) "IndyWatch Feed Allcommunity"

Editors Note: Over the next several months, Mad in Gtzsches book, Critical Psychiatry Textbook. In this blog, he discusses the poor reliability and validity of psychiatric diagnoses and the concept of overdiagnosis. Each Monday, a new section of the book is published, and all chapters are archived here.

Two concepts are essential when discussing diagnostic tests, their validity and reliability.

The validity of a diagnostic test refers to its ability to measure what it is purported to measure, which involves its ability to distinguish between people with and without a particular disease.

The two principal measures of test validity are sensitivity and specificity, which are the proportion of those who are ill that test positive, and the proportion of those who are healthy that test negative, respectively. Most people believe that the predictability of positive and negative diagnostic tests are constants, which they are not, as they depend on the prevalence of the disease that is being tested for.105 The more uncommon a disease is, the more false positives will there be. This is why screening for depression is a bad idea. The screening test for depression recommended by the WHO is so poor that for every 100 healthy people screened, 36 will get a false diagnosis of depression.7:46,106,107

Terawulf Brings First Fully Nuclear-Powered Bitcoin Mining Operation In America Online "IndyWatch Feed Allcommunity"

A joint venture with Cumulus Coin, LLC. has brought the first nuclear-powered Bitcoin mine online in Pennsylvania.

Terawulf has announced roughly half of its nuclear-powered Nautilus Cryptomine has come online. The mining facility, a joint venture with Cumulus Coin, LLC., derives its energy wholly from the 2.5 GW Susquehanna nuclear generation station in Pennsylvania.

The full operation will amount to 50 MW and 1.9 EH/s, with an option for Terawulf to add an additional 50 MW of bitcoin mining capacity, which the Company plans to deploy in future phases, according to a press release.

Paul Prager, chairman and CEO of TeraWulf, said that the recent energization of the Nautilus facility earlier this month, approximately 16,000 of TeraWulfs owned miners, representing 1.9 EH/s of self-mining capacity, are onsite and being brought online daily.

The Nautilus nuclear-powered mining facility benefits from what is arguably the lowest cost power in the sector, just $0.02/kWh for a term of five years, Prager commented.

Mining consultant and cofounder of Citadel 256, Magdalena Gronowska, previously described in an article for Bitcoin Magazine how nuclear power can revolutionize Bitcoin mining.

Nuclear is a carbon free, reliable and cheap energy source, she told the magazine. It's not perfect in that it emits nuclear waste, but every energy source has tradeoffs between environmental footprint, reliability and capital and operating costs We need a diverse mix of energy generation, to serve both baseload and peak load, as we transition to a low carbon economy.

Essay: 10 reasons the Republicans should end funding the war in Ukraine "IndyWatch Feed Allcommunity"

This post was cencored, so it must have hit some sore nerves. Therefore it must be important:

Essay: 10 reasons the Republicans should end funding the war in Ukraine

The funding for the war in Ukraine by American taxpayers should end immediately. Why? Before I give the 10 reasons the Republicans should end funding the war in Ukraine immediately if they win control of the U.S Congress in the 2022 midterms, I will give a short introduction to the post-Soviet Union history of Ukraine which is very relevant to the current conflict in Ukraine.

Ukraine is a cleft country and cleft countries are often hotspots for conflict/war.

A cleft country is a nation with a fairly large and distinct cultural groupings as to have separated (e.g., Czechoslovakia or Yugoslavia), semi-separated (e.g., Sudan, Tanzania), or have a threat of separatism (e.g., Canada).[1]

Columbia Press gives the following description of the book Cleft Countries: Regional Political Divisions and Cultures in Post-Soviet Ukraine and Moldova:

"During the "Orange Revolution" in Ukraine, the second largest country in Europe came close to a violent break-up similar to that in neighboring Moldova, which witnessed a violent secession of the Transnistria region. Numerous elections, including the hotly contested 2004 presidential elections in Ukraine, and surveys of public opinion showed significant regional divisions in these post-Soviet countries. Western parts of Ukraine and Moldova, as well as the Muslim Crimean Tatars, were vocal supporters of independence, nationalist, and pro-Western parties and politicians. In contrast, Eastern regions, as well as the Orthodox Turkic-speaking Gagauz, consistently expressed pro-Russian and pro-Communist political orientations. Which factorshistorical legacies, religion, economy, ethnicity, or political leadershipcould explain these divisions? Why was Ukraine able to avoid a violent break-up, in contrast to Moldova? This is the first book to offer a systematic and comparative analysis of the regional political divisions in post-Soviet Ukraine and Moldova. The study examines voting behavior and political attitudes in two groups of regions: those which were under Russian, Ottoman, and Soviet rule; and those which were under Austro-Hungarian, Polish, Romanian, and Czechoslovak rule until World War I or World War II. This book attributes the regional political divisions to the differences in historical experience. This study helps us to better understand regional cleavages and conflicts, not only in Ukraine and Moldova, but also in other cleft countries.[2]"

Cleft countries, first used by Samuel Huntington in Clash of Civilizations, builds upon Arnold Toynbee's, A Study of History, Volume 9, Contacts between Civilizations in Space, first published in 1954.[3]

1 10 reasons the Republicans should end funding for the war in Ukraine...

TL;DR: Schaut Picard Season 3. Wenn ihr Season 1 und ... "IndyWatch Feed Allaunews"

TL;DR: Schaut Picard Season 3.

Menschen waren kompetent.

Modern Trek spielt in dunklen Verliesen, man kann kaum was erkennen.

A world in which your boss spies on your brainwaves? That future is near "IndyWatch Feed Allaunews"

The reptilian annual World Economic Forum at Davos, where the masters of the universe meet to congratulate themselves on their benevolent dictatorship, is home to many sinister ideas. This year, one of the creepiest discussions of all was delivered under the guise of progress and productivity. Nita Farahany, a Duke University professor and futurist, gave a presentation at Davos about neurotechnology that is creating "brain transparency." The new technologies, which Farahany says are being deployed in workplaces around the world ... include a variety of wearable sensors that read the brain's electrical impulses and can show how fatigued you are, whether you're focused on the task at hand or if your attention is wandering. According to Farahany, thousands of companies have hooked workers ranging from train drivers to miners up to these devices already, in the name of workplace safety. But what we are really discussing is workplace surveillance. Farahany paints a picture of a near future in which every office worker could be fitted with a small wearable that would constantly record brain activity, creating an omnipotent record of your thoughts, attention and energy that the boss could study at leisure. Farahany acknowledges that there could be drawbacks here: "Done poorly, it could become the most oppressive technology we've ever introduced on a wide scale." All of this raises the question: what exactly is your employer buying when they give you a paycheck? For bosses, the answer is simple: "Everything."

Note: Tune into a fascinating, 17 min. conversation about this issue that raises important questions about the overreliance on technology as a tool of control, under the guise of workplace safety. Vinyl chloride's invisible threat: Thousands of pounds are released every year in the U.S. as part of "poison plastic" manufacturing "IndyWatch Feed Allaunews"

Vinyl chloride entered the spotlight after the Feb. 3 Ohio train derailment. But the hazardous substance has been around for decades and is everywhere from buildings and vehicle upholstery to children's toys and kitchen supplies and factories have been emitting the EPA-designated toxic chemical into the air for years. The train that derailed had the manmade and volatile compound on board, prompting temporary evacuations. But the derailment isn't the first time vinyl chloride has alarmed experts. Experts say that the volatile compound, "used almost exclusively by the plastics industry," has "leached into groundwater from spills, landfills, and industrial sources," and that people who live around plastic manufacturing facilities "may be exposed to vinyl chloride by inhalation of contaminated air." According to the EPA's Toxics Release Inventory (TRI), which "tracks the management of certain toxic chemicals that may pose a threat to human health and the environment," there are 38 TRI facilities in 15 states mostly around the Gulf of Mexico and the eastern U.S. that use vinyl chloride, emitting about half a million pounds of the substance every year. The problem begins at vinyl chloride's origins. It's generated from ethane, which is obtained through fracking natural gas. The U.S. Energy Information Administration said ethane production hit a monthly record last year of more than 2.4 million barrels per day. The global PVC market is expected to become a $56.1 billion industry within the next 3 years.

Australia becomes first country to recognise psychedelics as medicines "IndyWatch Feed Allaunews"

Australia has become the first country to recognise psychedelics as medicines, after the Therapeutic Goods Administration took researchers by surprise and approved the psychedelic substances in magic mushrooms and MDMA for use by people with certain mental health conditions. MDMA and psilocybin, the active ingredient in magic mushrooms, will be considered schedule 8 drugs - meaning they're approved for controlled use when prescribed by a psychiatrist - from July this year after the TGA acknowledged there were few other options for patients with specific treatment-resistant mental illnesses. The changes will allow MDMA to be used to treat post-traumatic stress disorder, and psilocybin for treatment-resistant depression. They will still be considered prohibited substances ... for all other usages. "Prescribing will be limited to psychiatrists, given their specialised qualifications and expertise to diagnose and treat patients with serious mental health conditions," a TGA statement published on Friday said. Associate Professor David Caldicott, an emergency department doctor who appeared at the Royal Commission into Defence and Veteran Suicide ... was pleasantly surprised by Friday's decision. "The conditions for which these drugs might be used [post-traumatic stress disorder and treatment-resistant depression] are currently conditions for which you're basically destined to a lifetime of drug use. Whereas the MDMA particularly is used to facilitate psychotherapy, only for a few doses," [said Caldicott].

Note: For more along these lines, see concise summaries of deeply revealing news articles on mind-altering drugs from reliable major media sources.

Society has never produced so much food, yet we live in a world where only the rich get to be healthy "IndyWatch Feed Allaunews"

According to the World Health Organization definition, 1.9 billion adults are considered overweight. Of these, more than 650 million people are classified as obese. In Australia, health authorities suggest being overweight is more dangerous to us than alcohol, and only second in "preventable health risk" to smoking. ABS health data claims 67% of Australian adults are overweight, an increase on 63.4% a decade ago. Last year, Australia's former conservative government released a "National Obesity Strategy", concerned Australia was facing health risks of cardiovascular disease, type 2 diabetes, and cancers. That government did recognise weight is influenced by complex "social, environmental, and economic factors", but their framework of encouraging "healthy choices" as a remedy unhelpfully individualises a collective problem. First, shaming individuals into weight loss doesn't work. 95% of weight loss attempts fail. Two-thirds of dieters regain the weight they lose. Second, the structural giveaway here is an admission that the poorest "experience the greatest burden of disease linked to excess weight". Our societies have never produced so much food, and the time to prepare it are priced as a luxury, while highly processed items are inexpensive, easy and aggressively mass-marketed. It's not a failure of collective willpower that's jeopardising our health, but a diet of bad food that's culturally familiar, low in nutrition and super available.

Whales Will Save Climate Unless the Military Destroys Them First "IndyWatch Feed Allaunews"

With the Biden administration's mandate to slash carbon emissions "at least in half by the end of the decade," the Pentagon has committed to using all-electric vehicles and transitioning to biofuels for all its trucks, ships and aircraft. The plan ignores the Pentagon's continuing role in the annihilation of whales, in spite of the miraculous role that large cetaceans have played in delaying climate catastrophe and "maintaining healthy marine ecosystems," according to a report by Whale and Dolphin Conservation. This fact has mostly gone unnoticed. The decimation of populations of whales and dolphins over the last decade - resulting from the year-round, full-spectrum military practices carried out in the oceans ... has fast-tracked us toward a cataclysmic environmental tipping point. The other imminent danger that whales and dolphins face is from the installation of space-war infrastructure, which is taking place currently. This new infrastructure comprises the development of the so-called "smart ocean," rocket launchpads, missile tracking stations and other components of satellite-based battle. Throughout their lives, whales enable the oceans to sequester a whopping 2 billion metric tons of carbon dioxide per year. That astonishing amount in a single year is nearly double the 1.2 billion metric tons of carbon that was emitted by the U.S. military in the entire 16-year span between 2001 and 2017. Clearly, key path forward toward a livable planet is to make whale and ocean conservation a top priority.

How to fight microplastic pollution with magnets "IndyWatch Feed Allaunews"

Huge amounts of plastic ends up rivers and oceans every year, harming the environment and potentially also human health. But what if we could pull it out of water with the power of magnets? [Chemistry student] Ferreira became determined to find a solution to remove microplastics from water. He started by designing his own spectrometer, a scientific instrument that uses ultraviolet light to measure the density of microplastics in solutions. "I could see there were a lot of microplastics in the water and they weren't just coming from big plastic breaking down in the sea," he says. It was on his local beach that Ferreira came up with a solution that could extract microplastics from water. "I found some oil spill residue with loads of plastic attached to it," he says. "I realised that oil could be used to attract plastic." Ferreira mixed vegetable oil with iron oxide powder to create a magnetic liquid, also known as ferrofluid. He then blended in microplastics from a wide range of everyday items, including plastic bottles, paint and car tyres, and water from the washing machine. After the microplastics attached themselves to the ferrofluid, Ferreira used a magnet to remove the solution and leave behind only water. Following 5,000 tests, Ferreira's method was 87% effective at extracting microplastics from water. Ferreira is currently in the process of designing a device which uses the magnetic extraction method to capture microplastics as water flows past it. The device will be small enough to fit inside waterpipes to continuously extract plastic fragments.
